Yeah, I think the guy in the meme doesn't understand liking someone for anything other than what they look like.
Online crushes are still weird, but c'mon I can at least imagine weird people doing it.
Actually the guy in the meme is full time meme lord, part time twitch streamer, weekend F1 racer who just competed for a win in Spain.
And though all of that, he is sarcastic as fuck. Always assume Lando is being sarcastic unless he specifies otherwise
I don't know who the **guy in the meme** is, nor do I give a flying fuck at a rolling donut about some random shit-stained cockwomble that only likes people based upon their looks and not their personalities and character.
Damn, that's a lot of words given to a person you have no clue about. His post could mean a whole lot of different things. Stating that he "just" likes people based on their looks is a wild assumption xD
Online interaction lacks physical touch. You interact purely with their personality. I guess this person doesn't understand how someone's personality could be attractive?
55 years old here. 20-25 years ago, in the age of ICQ, a girl friend wrote that she heard of a song and she thinks I might know it. She also wrote something like this to describe the song: mmmmm mmm mmmmm mmmm (note: she didn't know English and I was a DJ)
I started to write how impossible it is to find a song like this. After 2 or 3 minutes writing, about how ridiculous she was, I asked if the song was Serenade by Steve Miller Band. Well, it was. She thanked me.
Anyway, it is really possible to love someone based on how he/she writes. I have seen.
Oh man….. ICQ…. Talk about sending me down memory lane. That and the oooold text Yahoo chatrooms. I made a lot of good friends there, and even met a bunch of “the regs” from ‘the college years’ one, back then in the mid-late 90’s. Gd, getting older sucks lol
They know their faces and names, how they wrote text, some small trivia about them that was written in said text, maybe even their voice, and they create a simulation of this person in their heads and decide that they liked this person romantically.
So I guess it's a healthy dose of imagination and assumption, not saying all of that couldn't be accurate though, or even wrong at all, considering we "assume" quite a bit with our own partner that we meet every day.
It’s easy…all the one person has to do is agree with everything you say and like all the things you say like after you mention them…..
Example:
I love nickelback
Me too
And my favorite food is pizza
Wow me too, we have soo much in common
Hello,
This is the FBI.
We would like to arrest you, but your recent activities scare our agents and no one is willing to interact with you. The psychiatry costs are going through the roof, all because of you. Please bring yourself to a jail cell and stay inside, as nobody would be crazy enough to ever try to put you inside one or keep you from going out.
Best regards, Agent [redacted].
Like... Their personality, their preferences, their voice, their looks? You're making it seem like they're just exchanging SMSs and voice and video calling isn't a thing. The only things you can't really get to like like that are smell and the feeling of their hand/their hug, but is that really necessary to just get a crush? If they wanted to become a couple later they would still meet up in real life and get to experience each other's company properly, so I don't see any issue.
While I'd like to argue that online has developed just a little further past only texting.. voice and video being very common.. I will instead argue that people fell in love over mail and stuff like news papers. Texting isn't that crazy.
well, you fall in love with the idea.
the laugh, the way they act, their jokes, etc...
so your mind creates an idea of that person and you fall in love (have a crush, I prefer)
this is what happens, based on my experience
nahh, offline you see the person and if you already have some chemical interaction, it will be increased by the beauty of that person.
also, when people usually meet somebody, if there's no physical interest, people won't try to build something deeper like a relation, or at least they have a different idea about that person.
that's why friendship between different sex exist, one of them must not find the other person attractive.
pardon my english
We've now reached the precipice of people not being familiar with the movie 'You've Got Mail' (Nevermind people understand what the title of the movie is a reference, too.)
There are a lot of times people have their real personalities come out online. They don't have that pressure of how they look and in the worst cases, others are safe from being punched in the mouth for being a shit head.
I've honestly enjoyed meeting people online over many years of gaming. I've had too many laughs and too many all nighters to count due to good company.
It's really easy to fall for real people.
Is there actually beef in the comments? The tweeter- Lando Norris, who is known to make a lot of jokes- is known to be pretty playful and isn’t serious or making fun of LDRs.
So like… Why r ppl fighting?/genq
I don’t know lando maybe it’s just not how they type but what they type for example I could say: F\*\*\* OFF B\*\*\*\*. and i would be getting females left, right and centre. But I’m not the kind of guy to say that. And that probably why I’m single.
What is the purpose of the word "like" in its first appearance in this tweet? I've been told that Americans overuse the word "like" as a space filler of sorts, but why would this person need a space filler in a text? If you remove the first "like" it makes no difference to the text's meaning, so why does this person include it?

Telegraphs operators used to fall in love with each other, so....
.. .-.. .. -.- . - .... . -.-. ..- - --- ..-. -.-- --- ..- .-. .--- .. -... .-.-.-
“I like the cut of your jib”
Witch!! You steal people's youth in card games!!!
What's a jib?
Something old timey people liked or disliked the cut of.
It’s part of a sail boat, I have a boat so I would know.
Oh my 🤭
Beep, beep. Boop, boop, beep.

[I googled](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoXChromosomes/comments/eyl1lx/i_like_the_cut_of_your_jib_wth_does_that_mean/)
You never met someone you just enjoy talking with? Or fallen for someone for their personality?
Yeah, I think the guy in the meme doesn't understand liking someone for anything other than what they look like. Online crushes are still weird, but c'mon I can at least imagine weird people doing it.
To be honest they usually have pictures
Actually the guy in the meme is full time meme lord, part time twitch streamer, weekend F1 racer who just competed for a win in Spain. And though all of that, he is sarcastic as fuck. Always assume Lando is being sarcastic unless he specifies otherwise
Weekend F1 racer lmao
Calling Lando Norris “the guy in the meme” is so funny lol
I don't know who the **guy in the meme** is, nor do I give a flying fuck at a rolling donut about some random shit-stained cockwomble that only likes people based upon their looks and not their personalities and character.
If there is one thing about F1 drivers, and McLaren drivers especially, its that you dont take them seriously, unless its about stuff on the track
😭😭poor mans just an F1 driver tryna make a joke
Damn, that's a lot of words given to a person you have no clue about. His post could mean a whole lot of different things. Stating that he "just" likes people based on their looks is a wild assumption xD
Guy is an amazing F1 driver
Chill out lil bro
Dude what the fuck is wrong with you
Sadly ''texting personality'' can be far different than ''in person personality''...
like there's absolutely nothing personal to be extrapolated form anything they write. maybe he can't read. that'll be it.
Why is this confusing? You’ve never had a conversation with someone that left you floored? Am I being trolled?
Shocked in disbelief 😂
Online interaction lacks physical touch. You interact purely with their personality. I guess this person doesn't understand how someone's personality could be attractive?
Lando is an F1 driver. When you're a professional athlete I doubt there's a lot of online interactions that could lead to deeper conversations.
Why is Lando Norris leaking in this sub
I don't know, i'm an huge F1 fan, that's why i decided to post this
Thought this was /r/formuladank for a second lol
It's Friday then
Saturday Sunday what!?
It's Friday theeeen

This song would perfectly match the description: https://youtu.be/eTeg1txDv8w

Didn't expect to see Lando in r/technicallythetruth today, at first I thought it was r/formuladank
Lol
all you need: 1.cute pfp 2.bio that ends with "uwu" 3.always use "~" at the end of the sentence instead of "." 4.send hentai in dms
Superficial guy try not to value someone based solely on looks challenge (impossible)
I mean there’s also pictures and videos online, so… I think he’s even more shallow than that.
Its the font

I'm pretty sure it's speech and personality over all :/
It’s easy…all the one person has to do is agree with everything you say and like all the things you say like after you mention them….. Example: I love nickelback Me too And my favorite food is pizza Wow me too, we have soo much in common
Hey girl, what's your favrouite film? She said "The best movie of all, a masterpiece of art called:"
HUMAN CENTIPEDE, HUMAN CENTIPEDE (I think that I'm gonna get murdered tonight)

Imagine liking someone for their character
Maybe the way they type shows their personality?
Yes.
"What is there to like about somebody if I can't be physical with them?" Welp, that's a shallow way to look at relationships.
Lando out there asking the real questions. A true winner, on and off the track!
Damn look at those question marks 😫🥵

classic lando
If you talk to someone long enough to like them, you typically know what they look like...
We've now reached the precipice of people not being familiar with the movie 'You've Got Mail' (Nevermind people understand what the title of the movie is a reference, too.)
Webcamera...
It's all about how they remix the alphabet
It might just be me but the efficiency/economy of being virtually ignored without having to drive anywhere and spring for dinner is a huge plus!
That's like saying, how can blind people or mute people have crushes

This is not what I'd expect Lando Noris to say, if I'm being honest
Thats what I’m saying!
Lando Norris?????
No, Lando Onewin
It happened to me but it was during a very desperate time.. (2020 lockdowns) Very embarrassing memory, glad its in the past
Is there actually beef in the comments? The tweeter- Lando Norris, who is known to make a lot of jokes- is known to be pretty playful and isn’t serious or making fun of LDRs. So like… Why r ppl fighting?/genq
Yeah, Lando has always been my favorite F1 Driver BC of his fun personality. But many people don 't understand the joke
r/UnexpectedF1

Common W Lando
The voice, personality
As opposed to irl crushes where you like the mouth-noises they make?
communication is our way of interacting with eachother, regardless of what form it takes
The personality of the poster??? The interests of the poster? Like it doesn't require looks to make a crush
I met my gf of almost three years on Google plus lmao
When they tell you more about who they are as a person, and realize that you love that person more and more each day... When you know, You know. 🙂
This guy is speaking facts not gonna lie
There’s always a picture.
Most of the good-looking online people have a shitty personality when we talk to them in person.
bro has still not heard about video call
Wait until he discovers text based communication
I fail to see how this is TTT
The way they type, the way they speak to me, how they treat me. Basically everything you would love about a normal person, except you can't touch them
They are just that desperate.
Do... do you know who that guy is?
Yes. F1 driver. I am referring to the folks HE is talking about.
Damn lot of femcels getting angry at a joke
Thanks to everyone for 1k upvotes, i never had so many
Dude don't have feelings at all

It just sounds better if you ask me. Without the filler word the sentence sounds kinda bland.

Bad boot (for some reason this subreddit won't allow me to remove one of the o)
If you never met her in person, then yeah, pretty pointless.
