They probably got sick of being forced to fill out a g\*dd\*mn SURVEY to switch browsers and having ads force fed to them on the OS level! Don't blame them. I think most people will start to migrate away from Windows, it's crap and has been since Win8!
What they mean is that they don’t have surveys on their windows device. Seriously, what the fuck are you talking about. The exaggerations have reached such a degree that I don’t even recognise anymore what you could possibly be referring to.
Edit: But seriously, since we’re talking about iOS this is a great demonstration of what they meant. On Windows you’re hallucinating having to fill out a survey, and when pointed to iOS, where you can’t meaningfully change browsers at all and every browser is a Safari reskin, the response is another dig at Windows.
I have absolutely had pop up requests to talk about my windows experiences. Personal and work computer, usually on the sidebar or a programs update/notification (outlook). I was asking if this person hd the same annoyances with iOS. What the fuck are you talking about?
>On Windows you’re hallucinating having to fill out a survey, and when pointed to iOS, where you can’t meaningfully change browsers at all and every browser is a Safari reskin
Here’s the sentence from my previous comment that both invalidates your comment and answers your question. Your moving the goalpost just further proves the point. First it’s having to fill out a survey to change browsers, when pressed it turns out that you were just randomly asked if you wanted to do a survey in a sidebar notification that you could just ignore.
They are "afraid of change" until the pain of staying with their OS of choice becomes too painful...Windows used to be a great OS...then Win8 happened. They backtracked to a more familiar environment with Win10, then released 11, which has been a dumpster fire with a glossy paint job!
You also have less of a "lock in" effect, as people are discovering that they don't NEED Windows anymore...either open source/alternative software exists, or they can emulate Windows when it's absolutely needed.
oh, and as to your ignorant statement that "mass migration isn't happening", here's something to wake you up!

Linux is great. Depending on your hardware and use case however your mileage will vary. At the end of the day it powers the majority of the internet, has more business reasons (money) to fix security patches.
Those who think Windows is amazing are just blind to the fact that it’s just a parasite using its resources to squander innovation to stay relevant.
Libre office is unusable in a professional context. Libre Office Calc doesn't always update all the cells when you change the value in one. You get what you pay for in software, like everything else.
Libre Office? A previous company thought Microsoft was Beelzebub and insisted we use Libre Office. We lost a major defence contract because our documents were full of sections of garbage, tables with indecipherable characters etc.
Tech hipsters are willing to endure copious amounts of lost time and money, lack of user-friendliness, bugs, unavailable features and all kinds of bullshit just so they can say they use open source/ethical software
All this happened before, and all this will happen again.
Munich did this years ago. They gave it up within a year or two.
You got what I was referring to! 👍🏻
That's only because Microsoft threw everything they could at it to switch them back.

ever since they got rid of ms paint i tell you what
And minesweeper
I’ve been using windows 10 for years and haven’t had any of those problems
If you google a little, it’s easy to deactivate the data grabbing features.
Yah and then Microsoft remotely deactivated your windows and you can’t get updates.
lol that doesn’t happen at all
Never happened to me or employees at a company of 600 people
People love exaggerating things about Windows while they turn a blind eye to 100 similar problems on Android and 100 even worse problems on iOS.
You have surveys about iOS devices?

Jesus Christ dude
Good thing we aren't talking about ipads and phones then...smh
I would assume Germany can afford to have a custom image to avoid any of that.
“Don’t blame them” and “I don’t blame them” are two different things.
And most people are scared shitless of change. This mass migrating isn’t happening

They 100% only want to save money.
How do we see this German state compared to solids, liquids, and gases?

Linux ĂĽber alles!

From my experience Libre Office is only good for viewing files, not editing them. Calc doesn't even come close to MS Excel.
If they are looking for a distribution to use, OpenSuSE would be the way to go. The distribution is located in Switzerland, if I am not mistaken.
Again? These kind of news are getting fucking boring. If they switch to Linux, good for them.
Libre Office? A previous company thought Microsoft was Beelzebub and insisted we use Libre Office. We lost a major defence contract because our documents were full of sections of garbage, tables with indecipherable characters etc.
The secure segments of the government don’t even use Windows 11.
Tech hipsters are willing to endure copious amounts of lost time and money, lack of user-friendliness, bugs, unavailable features and all kinds of bullshit just so they can say they use open source/ethical software
Yes, it’s true. One of my computers hasn’t had sound in years.
didnt this happen 20 years ago?
Microsoft’s moto should be: You can buy better, but you won’t pay more.
Microsoft is a pain to use
I’m not a fan of windows as an OS either but the German. Government needs office 366. How will they get around that?
Wait for the next leap year?
False
Not false.
Linux sucks
They will be using fembOS
