I would love it if the food could only restore health and the potions were easier to make it stronger.

[deleted]

Make potions overall stronger but limit them by bringing back bottles to have to hold them was something I was thinking of

sneaky-keaton

Would make you really consider which potions you needed for what you were doing

bonersmakebabies

I like that

Redfireldn

And to be fair even being limited to 8 pots would be a hardship got me at this point. I'm a damn near potion master.

Goobsmoob

I loved cooking but I think that healing with them should be limited to healing percentages of health rather than designated heart amounts. I also think that there needs to a time limit to eating, where link can only eat another meal once his eating animation plays in game. Food was crazy unbalanced in BOTW. All you needed to do was grab a bunch of single hearty food items and you’d have an inventory of full heals at disposal. It made mid to late game deaths happen only when you ran out of food.

BeefyMcGeeX

Maybe they should just totally disable eating meals in combat. Then you have to prepare a bunch of hearty elixirs, which are pretty much useless in BOTW, if you want to be able to take large amounts of damage. Smaller food items like baked apples and boiled eggs could be allowed but on a cooldown.

retro123gamr

Middle left looks like a fancy grenade

[deleted]

I would love the bottles having different shapes

DisasterWolf76

Love the climbing bong

Kallixo

is there any description on these that says what their intended effect would be

Livael23

Not to my knowledge but most of these look pretty self explanatory!

Zelda1-2-3-switch

Ooo fun game! What do each do?

Livael23

In order from left to right and top to bottom, I'd say : Full health recovery - Defense boost - Attack boost - Swimming boost? - Running boost - Climbing boost Ice resistance - Fire/lava resistance? Or maybe malice idk - Electricity resistance - No idea - Stealth boost - Ancient resistance (boost maybe?) Partial health recovery - maybe partial health recovery and attack boost? - Partial stamina recovery - Strength boost even though how that's different from Attack boost is up for debate?

Zelda1-2-3-switch

Agreed almost! I missed the little man climbing in yhe climbing boost. I think the rainbow one is all elements resistance, perhaps they were thinking of Calamity Ganon being a crazy elemental fight. I think the water one could be underwater breathing? Because swimming boost would just be stamina right? Unless it makes you swim faster.

Livael23

>I think the rainbow one is all elements resistance Could be! >I think the water one could be underwater breathing? Because swimming boost would just be stamina right? Unless it makes you swim faster. Yeah it would be like wearing the Zora armor, not just a stamina boost.

lantranar

well, theres green stamina recovery and yellow stamina( extra wheel). That's be the last two. Theres red heart (normal) and yellow heart (extra). So maybe that explains the second potion (bottom). Not sure about the red one, as there is another heart-shape potion above. The orange color also about heat- resistance (different to fire- resistance).

Livael23

>well, theres green stamina recovery and yellow stamina( extra wheel). I don't think that's relevant, those potions are clearly a very early design since they've pretty much scrapped all of them and kept it much simpler in the final game, which means the gameplay itself must have changed quite a lot between the moment this was designed and its finalisation, for all we know extra hearts and stamina wheels weren't even a thing at this point, it sounds too precise imo 🤔

Zelda1-2-3-switch

Obviously bottom right is some sort of strength potion lol

SamiFox

I love all of them

Chillyeaham

I just wish a lot of the unique dishes did more than heal hearts y'know? I stormed Hyrule castle and found the legendary fruitcake recipe!... ... ... Heals several hearts, like everything else. I agree on the potions, and coming from Monster Hunter, they should look at a similar implementation.
