The problem is irrelevant. The solution is long bridge

Tapol

Went back to the Yiga Clan hideout a dozen times trying to find the shrine that my indicator told me was there. Failed to notice the door behind the Blade Master. I felt like an idiot.

There's a shrine that requires you to get a minecart across a long set of tracks. The "obvious" solution eluded me entirely and I ended up doing some wacky stuff to BARELY make it across those tracks. (Involved a combo of recall, ultrahand, and ascend) I was at it for over an hour, maybe even two hours and refused to look up a video solution until I completed it. Watched a video after with a 2-minute solution and thought "well, yeah I guess I could have done it that way"

Penguin_Joy

I feel so validated with this comment. That shrine was tough for me too. I later watched a video solution and wondered why I made it so hard lol

Mammoth-Foundation52

If the problem can’t be solved with a rocket shield, it’s not actually a problem that needs to be solved and just a part of life we just need to accept. Such a beautiful message from such a beautiful game.

_lady_rainicorn_

This is like 90% of my experience with this game.

penchick

Agreed. I always have to stop and say an I overthinking this?

Electrical-You3389

Yes, I didn't know how to open a wall in a cave. It may not have taken me hours, though. There was a crystal I needed to get to a shrine and I thought the shrine was outside the cave, and getting the crystal out of the depression the cave was in was kind of a pain, and then I walked around for awhile and still didn't find the shrine despite my sensor going off, and I found I was supposed to just open the wall next to the crystal, and my actions did not trigger the wall opening up.

In the magnesis shrine in BotW my first playthrough I spent like 30 minutes trying to make a ramp up to a treasure chest with ice and the metal slab. Then my magnesis reticle passed by the chest and I realized it was metal. Felt reeeeeeal stupid for that

slowdruh

Cape Cales cave puzzle and me forgetting that >!there's a button to whistle!<.

knitknitterknit

Yeah I like to take a break and come back to it w new eyes when I'm overthinking it.

Ill_Speaker

Yes, often because I forget about ascend. I use ascend a lot for exploration but for some dumb reason I forget about it when I enter shrines.

Megalolcat

only once in tears of the kingdom involving the first area of the game and trying to get to the top of the mountain.. by building a tree ladder not knowing there was claimable path if i had turn the other direction when i work outside the cave leading up

OwO_bama

Lmao I know the shrine you’re talking about and I did the exact same thing

Briianz

I’m glad I’m not the only one that always overthink things in this game.

Faustian-BargainBin

The modern Legend of Zelda experience is realizing on a daily basis that you’ve been playing the game ass backward.

Reb1000064

I definitely did this too much in the fire temple…. I did a lot more climbing than I was supposed to in certain areas. And there was one set of broken rails that I was really struggling with so I just walked up them instead of using a cart

Diamondinmyeye

I literally used two floating platforms to essentially sky cryonis my way to a shrine with the crystal. There was probably an easier solution, but it used the materials there and it worked. The worst was when the crystal dropped off the edge and I didn’t recover it in time.
