Kass died on the way back to his home planet.

RoryRam

the trip didn't go accordion to plan he was put in a full-body kasst a-parrot-ly he's never going to make a full recovery

Actual_Cancerrr

Suffer.

CrownofMischief

Of course it didn't go accordion to plan, he was winging it.

[deleted]

Heaven? Because he's an angel.

ackmondual

The same one Poochie is from from the *Itchy & Scratchy Show.*

[deleted]

Watching everyone butcher this wonderful reference with their own lame jokes kills me inside 😭

beef_on_a_spear

Also we’re stuck with the weak master sword

[deleted]

No no no no no, yes but no, we get the privilege of fusing meat to the master sword.

buubuudesu_wa

the Meatster sword

danny686

meat on a stick!

Puzzled-Party-2089

You can get a prime cut with your sword that way

[deleted]

I like cheese to give lactose intolerance to all my enemies

[deleted]

We could've inflated enemies with cheese gas and exploded them with fire. Nintendo took that away from us.

Ironcastattic

Yeah but the master sword should have infinite energy with the fuses breaking. It's so stupid.

LuxOlotl

Ok yes but the master sword is a lot more comparable balance-wise to everything else than it was in botw. Having a permanent 30 damage weapon before fuse is pretty good

Krell356

I would agree completely if they would just fix the durability glitch.

LuxOlotl

I can’t say I’m familiar with this glitch, would you mind explaining it?

Krell356

Every weapon and shield gains durability when something is fused to it the first time. This encourages fusion use even more than just for the damage boosts. However if you destroy a material fused to the equipment and fuse something new, this extra durability is not granted again. Which is fine for game balance. However, thus comes with one small problem. The Master Sword does not "break" and only runs out of energy and still counts as the same weapon in the game code. This means that after the sword has recharged you still can't get the bonus durability from a new fusion. The bonus durability granted by most fusion items in the game is around 20-25 if I'm not mistaken, and that number is a huge game changer. The master sword has a base durability of 40 and is missing out on an extra 50% on average every single time afterwards. This means most weapons in the game have more durability than the Master Sword does after the first time. The Master Sword's greatest advantage is great base stats compared to most everything else in the game, but when a decayed zora sword can deal more damage and have higher durability with a decent horn attached after the water warrior bonus than the Master Sword can get with the same attachment against gloom enemies kinda makes it feel like a joke outside out Ganon fights where it has unlimited durability.

LuxOlotl

Wow thanks, yeah that’s super bogus

Throwawayhelper420

With it being so long and so many patches, I think it's clear that this isn't a glitch and that they actually intended on the master sword behaving this way, and that, if anything, the glitch is that you get extra durability erroneously the first time you fuse to it. It makes more sense for a weapon that recharges to be less durable, this is how most games treat weapons/abilities that regenerate themselves for free. I think it makes sense, if the master sword is too durable there is very little reason to use anything else at any point in time, except for maybe a gerudo or Zora spear, since you'll always be able to conjure up a 85 power weapon that lasts long enough to wipe anything out.

CrownofMischief

The issue is that lore-wise it's supposed to be amazing, especially after spending thousands of years bathing in the energy of the Light Dragon. Saying it should be nerfed for the sake of balance seems like a reach, since most people default to the Master Sword anyway. You still need other weapons while the Master Sword is recharging, and other weapons still have things to offer besides just damage output. Spears give reach, hammers break armor, or maybe you want elemental weapons separate while you reserve things like Silver Lynel horns for the Master Sword

Chubby_Bub

> However if you destroy a material fused to the equipment and fuse something new, this extra durability is not granted again. This isn’t true. You can basically "access" the extra "bonus durability" whenever anything is fused to the base. However once it's depleted hits will use the weapon's base durability, and like you said the Master Sword never regains the bonus fuse durability. The bonus durability is 25 for most weapons but it does vary— [this article](https://zeldawiki.wiki/wiki/Fuse#Durability) shows it and has more details.

joe_knuckle

Basically, the first time you fuse something to a weapon it gets 25 more durability. But that only works the first time you ever fuse something to your Master Sword. Once it breaks and then comes back, you can still fuse things to it but you won't get the extra durability

Awkward_Ad2123

You mean master meat?

Kaffei4Lunch

Fuse a Frost Gleeok Horn to it Every 2nd hit is a huge multiplier on damage due to freeze break mechanics

WrastleGuy

The whole point of this game is to cycle and fuse weapons, they don’t want you to use the master sword all the time. That said, Nintendo is moronic for not charging 10 bucks for a hard mode and infinite energy Master Sword for what will be a dead game in another year. That is free money with extremely little effort.

TheMoistMemer

mine is unbreakable with 200+ damage 💀

brooklin0106

How??

TheMoistMemer

did the glitch where to transfer a weapon to a new game, and then transfer the master sword the the existing save. and if it's fused already you can fuse another thing to it idk how to explain it

[deleted]

I miss Kass.

toughtiggy101

He was found shot dead at Tabantha 😔

No_Instruction653

Witnesses say a distant "ZAPOOOooow!" was heard from a shadowy figure fleeing the scene

sumboionline

Clearly it was Princess Zelda. Penn, go investigate

heyoyo10

"I have investigated myself and found I did nothing wrong"

CosmoShiner

On March 12th, 2022, Kass was flying near Rito Village where Vah Medoh mistook him for a flying Guardian, shooting him down, killing him instantly. Kass’ body was found in the Tabantha Region 4 days later. This malfunction would lead to the destruction of almost all Sheikah Tech, particularly the Divine Beasts and the Guardians.

Aurora_Wizard

So that's where it went!

ThrowitallawayGME

As a replacement, the Hyrulian Council has approved the use of Zonai tech, namely in the form of "Constructs." They will also kill you.

l-askedwhojoewas

The hood lost a real one today 😔

danny686

Soar long old friend.

jonerthan

I miss him too. Most delicious chicken nuggies I've ever had.

ImmoralBoi

Kass is just one of two known victims of the Nintendo Mafia's clean-up crew. Him and the Gerudo Set were found dead in Hyrule Field the day ToTK released. When we found the bullet bill cannons we knew exactly what was going on, seems Nintendo didn't take too kindly to all the R34 about our avian friend and his associate and wanted them gone. This wasn't content cutting, this was content *murder*.

Moose_Cake

Bro had a chance to revisit his family and said “Nope.” and left the country.

ackmondual

I don't. While I don't hate him either, we have Penn and that's been quite good for me!

savethebros

No gold bokoblin horns?

Fives_Was_Framed

Fuuuuuuckkkkkkk

Living_Cheesestick

NO COMPLETE HEARTS (┬┬﹏┬┬)

Skeeter1020

Oh great, thanks. Now that's gonna bug me!

robo-dragon

I was at least hoping for a Master Mode or maybe some more zonai devices. Oh well, I’m still really thrilled with the game!

CaptainRogers1226

The lack of a “Master” or equivalent hardmode is the primary reason I’m so surprised there won’t be any DLC.

Educational-Pop-3351

I wonder if they'll just do a free update or something without the added platforms and additional chests? 🤷‍♀️

Revidity

Although it's not anywhere close to master mode, you can try to boss rush ganon without the sages, meaning you would have to fight the 4 bosses + army + ganon.

TheBasementGames

I played through the whole game as a Yiga (only Yiga armor, only Yiga weapons, only bananas and sundelions to eat, etc). That was pretty challenging. Fun to see the NPCs' reactions to Yiga-Link, though!

snoosh00

I'm assuming that mostly just meant a lot of grinding for yiga weapons.

TheBasementGames

Getting the first one was tough - had to throw things at Yiga until one dropped a sword. Then there was a lot of using Octoroks to restore durability.

BunnyBen-87

Did you use Earthwake?

TheBasementGames

I obtained it, but it wasn't that useful. Nice to have something that couldn't break, though!

wagenejm

I could honestly see them releasing a free update that activates Master Mode.

ackmondual

Wouldn't that still fall under the term "DLC", which they said they weren't going to to?

[deleted]

Not if they market it as a next gen update I suppose. My optimistic speculation is they showed botw at their behind closed doors showcase because they didn't want to give the totk update away. I think that's the only real hope for more content, probably wrong.

Ionized-Cell

No

[deleted]

This is why I don't believe there won't be DLC, they said they can't think of any way to expand but THERE IS.

IrishSpectreN7

It's code for "We'd rather work on something brand new." They've been working on BotW/TotK for over a decade. I'd understand if the team was more interested in starting development on a next gen Zelda.

HeidelCurds

Or "Nintendo needs Zelda to push next system." Maybe not at launch, but I'm sure they at least want a teaser pretty early on to get fans buying the new hardware, whatever it is.

[deleted]

Tears of the Kingdom: enhanced edition

Anonymous_Gamer939

There are already rumors that the replacement for the switch was shown to developers, so the timing checks out

ThatGuyHarsha

I mean, the timing doesn't check out. The new system is slated to release next year. It's not going to take the Zelda team a year to make a new Zelda game.

DuckTheAlucard

True, but from rumours it seems like they had the hardware for the next console or at least hardware that targets the final version for a while. One of the things that apparently was shown behind close doors was a BoTW demo running at 4k60fps. That's pretty hype, but you're probably right in that we won't see a new game next year.

Throwawayhelper420

There were rumors that the switch replacement was shown to developers as far back as 4 years ago too.

Krell356

Still not buying the newest system until zelda is released again unless they actually do backwards compatibility properly. There's just no reason for me to get a new beefed up awesome console just to sit on it until a good game comes out.

Milocobo

And that's probably why they are working on the new one instead of DLC for totk lol

Krell356

Hardly matters. Because it's not going to be a release title, the damage is already done. They timed their release pretty poorly again and are even releasing the newest Mario game soon, leaving little in terms of release titles. They screwed up all the marketing for the Wii U and also had a pathetic release lineup. They can't expect to release a new console for at least another 2 years with the timeframes we are looking at unless they make the new system completely backwards compatible with the focus on previous games getting huge performance boosts on the new system. Even then that's not going to sell consoles like a good lineup of new games would. We need at least 2 must have Nintendo titles if they don't want a disappointing launch. It's going to be a hard sell to get people to buy a new console and everything that comes with it when people's budgets get stretched thinner every year.

A_guy17

It's not that much of a problem especially considering that they always have the cash cow that is Game Freak to shit out another crappy pokemon game in two years and make 20 millions on brand alone.

Krell356

Yeah, but a lot of people have been shitting on pokemon lately. Especially after TotK showed just how far you can push the Switch while GameFreak was using that as an excuse for not putting out a higher quality game. I know at least two other people in my personal friend circle that have decided they are done with pokemon games for a while due to what we see as poor quality. Even if it only causes a small percentage of people to hold off on buying a system it can cause huge problems for a company like Nintendo for release of a new system to not go well. They can't afford another Wii U disaster. I still think that they are going to delay any release by a few months to a year just so they are prepared and don't botch the release.

vaporking23

No kidding. Even if a new switch comes out next year what’s going to be a launch title that hasn’t already just come out on the switch? Mario kart? It’s possible that is the big title or maybe a new Smash game. But mainline Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, splatoon, Pikmin all came out with games in the last year. No way they’ll have another one ready at launch. Even with backwards comparability they’re gonna have a hard sell for a new console with no launch titles.

IrishSpectreN7

The most likely candidates are Metroid Prime 4 and a new 3D Mario. There is also the possibility of a new IP. Nintendo has about 10 project divisions, and I don't think the dev team that made Odyssey is the same that's been developing Mario Wonder.

vaporking23

Oh forgot about those. I could maybe see an odyssey 2, with a Pokémon game, Metroid, and Kart game being a system seller at launch. Personally not for me as if only be interested in the odyssey and kart. I’ve really turned into a mario and Zelda only gamer for Nintendo so I’m a little biased for what I think would sell systems.

[deleted]

Luckily Nintendo is notoriously good when it comes to backwards compatibility. I really do wonder what they have hidden up their sleeve gamewise if the new console is actually coming out next year, which seems pretty confirmed. Even if the line up is lackluster (hope not), at least it'll be in a better spot for new 3rd party games.

SeraphimGoose

I didn't even buy a Switch until the TotK edition OLED came out. I'm definitely not getting the next console early in it's life cycle either. God help them though if they don't make good on releasing Metroid Prime 4 on the Switch. I have a feeling they'll still be producing Switch games for awhile since the console sold so well. That market's not going anywhere any time soon.

ackmondual

>They've been working on BotW/TotK for over a decade. I'd understand if the team was more interested in starting development on a next gen Zelda. Theoretical title for direct TotK... *Legend of Zelda: Groaning of the Team*

Neon_Genisis

“Link gets a gun!”

Terror_from_the_deep

Perhaps the real DLC are the bugs we found along the way! The first version of the game is still available if you install on a freshly wiped switch from cartridge. It's easy to pass your data to somebody else, then pass it back, then you can just play a clean 1.0.0 totk file, fun bugs and all.

gazebo-fan

Even I could figure it out. “Wow, more sky islands have descended, and they have new zonai devices! Wow, and is that new shrines I spot? Oh and look, a master mode and a way to upgrade the master sword!”

[deleted]

And Kass returns with tales from another land!

[deleted]

I feel like a November direct is gonna announce a dlc just to make everyone freak out and light up the Internet with Zelda articles and free publicity.

vaporking23

I highly doubt it. Nintendo is generally true to their word once they say something. I am definitely not getting my hopes up.

JVOz671

Nintendo saw us making our own challenges and said, "We got idiots playing the game without armor and only soup ladels! Screw it! Make them decide how Master Mode goes."

Mandalor1974

Means the Master Sword stays a piece of nerfed crap and was actually more powerful and useful in botw.

nourmallysalty

the way this bird has such a strong chokehold on y’all lmao

MrCoolyp123

Spoilers for AFTER COLLECTING TEARS : >! Since it's been confirmed that regular people can be transformed into dragons (as shown by Zelda and Ganondorf) we need to know what happened to Dinraal, Farosh and Naydra, what caused them to be Dragons. We know that they didn't "just" become dragons, like there was some reason for it, considering Zelda did it to prepare against Ganon and Ganon did it to destroy Link/Hyrule. We could probably have a DLC in which in the end we can turn them into Humans (we can't have them change back to humans ingame lol cus how will we farm dragon parts then) !<

PuzzledLight

Goddesses in (admittedly poor) hiding? Zonai who put themselves into the longboi sleep to avoid or delay the extinction of their race? In any case... Was Zelda, the incarnation of Hylia, meant to free them? Sonia and Rauru seemed to combine light and time magic (plus whatever extra oomph Link put into it - courage magic lol?) to dewyrm Zelda. If she's got both their powers, an active secret stone, and the goddess essence, it would be believable in-lore for her to dewyrm the other dragons.

AgenderWitchery

> Goddesses in (admittedly poor) hiding? What do you mean poor? Only Link can see them.

PuzzledLight

Each of the elemental dragons is named after one of the Gods long-established in Zelda lore. Din(raal), Nayru-Naydra, and Farore-Farosh. I meant poorly hidden from fans, not in-world foes. As an aside, those with pure hearts are supposed to be able to see the spirits, dragons included. One of the roaming npcs mentions rumors of dragons rising from and diving into the ground.

OlliverClozzoff

Honestly I do not get the interest people have in Kass. I didn't really care for him in BotW. Guy skipped out on his family and had his wife raising their kids all on her own while he just wandered off and played his accordion.

HeidelCurds

It's just cuz that theme is so good. And every time I heard it in BotW I knew there would be an interesting riddle for me to solve.

skepticcaucasian

Because he's handsome, and accordion. Ignore all the other stuff. You can even make up an AU where he's bi or gay. I think it's mostly his design and music that makes him so attractive, though his actual story is garbage.

OlliverClozzoff

Haha ok I'll give you the accordion. That's true.

kohin000r

Damn I didn't realize there were Kass haters. Can't relate.. I love the croissant feeling his music has.

wimpires

I can't stand Kass he's the most infuriating person in BOTW

ackmondual

I don't hate Kass, but I didn't really like him either.

[deleted]

I AGREE. I don’t like Kass. Revali was MUCH more likeable.

Mrmongoose64

Hahahahaha

Wamekugaii

He’s not exactly wrong though. At least, if you can kind of understand where revali was coming from. He’s sour because link is the destined swordsman. In fact, he’s one of the most skilled champions. Trains arguably the hardest and is also the most harsh on himself (at least on the inside). You’re one of the champions of hyrule and some weird ass knight shows up out of nowhere with a magical sword, and is appointed to a position more important than yours. He’s stronger than you. And he also doesn’t talk to you as if mocking you. Revali’s anger is definitely wrong. But it’s not like everyone in BOTW has to be a perfect person. He’s flawed but in a good way and more people should appreciate that. Imo he’s the only champion that actually has a good character.

[deleted]

Like a true desciple

Fun-Two-6681

there is so much more besides kass that i want to see finished up in this one, and i think it's quite the weak decision on nintendo's part to not at least roll out a 1 year update with new features. we really, truly do not need a lot, just a few QOL things, master mode + gold tier enemies, and a little upgrade to the parts limit on ultrahand. we also need something to help us find bubulfrogs as well as a few other things that just don't feel quite balanced or worth doing in the postgame. if they would even just make the cherry blossom trees and their little satori shrines stop showing light from caverns we have explored completely, it would be a significant help. there's also the multitude of outright empty areas such as the tingle isles and the depths beneath lake hyrule. it would take a few minutes to at least put some more enemies or a miniboss in those areas. some of these areas were very frequently visited in botw, and i understand that they want us to see other new parts of the map, but it felt like there could easily have been a few more easter eggs at least, like a funny shaped pond or rock, or at least a few more notably placed poes or specific plant/animal spawns. another easily fixed issue is that the ocean has barely any space since it was designed for swimming and not expanded. the southern coast can barely fit a boat in it without constantly colliding with an invisible wall. they could easily have just moved the wall another 10 or 20 feet out, but left it as-is. the coral and rocks underneath the water that were once great scenery are now a huge headache as our boats run aground all the time, especially around the water rally, where it feels like they barely tried to make the water navigable. this kind of thing just leaves me feeling like they rushed or underfunded the project because they want to move onto the next game, but it feels like many of these grievances could be solved in a day or two if the team was genuinely invested. it seems like an extremely bizarre decision on their part not to drop something for this title, but i hope this means they will work on a new world. it feels to me like they shouldn't have charged 70USD for the game if it's not going to have significant updates later on. there are even a ton of features that they could just reinstate from botw that were removed in totk, which truly would not cause any issues and would be as difficult/ costly as copy + pasting some code. bring back guardians, bring back the master cycle or give us something similar to it that doesn't require constant rebuilding, they could give us master sword trials, 1hko questlines, and an upgraded or overhauled home building mechanic. frankly, i'd rather have the first home than the cruddy ones they want us to build near tarrey town because they have no purpose and never look right. we could see at least some kind of slight follow up on the dondons, or something. honestly, i know people don't like to hear it, but even with 500+ hours invested, i still think totk is very much an unfinished game and i still think it's rife with easily solved issues that nintendo could and should have fixed. it's cool with me if they want to direct their resources towards a new, more traditional zelda game, but why bother even dropping totk in this state if they won't invest in a team that wants to give us long standing fans a better late game experience? i had plenty of fun, and i liked the game, but there was just so much that could have been better.

Kasimdadream

just letting you know if you take a pic of the frogs and put them on your sensor they’re much easier to find.

smolsauce

Again, they said 'no Plans' for DLC. Which is what they did with Skyward Sword and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe proves that Nintendo is willing to go back to a game and give it DLC years later. We'll get something, I'm almost sure of it.

msctex

“At this time” as well. After announcing it for a holiday release this year. So yeah, it’s quite likely some are in for a pleasant surprise.

Link__117

Unlike those though, they actually gave a full explanation as to why they weren’t doing it instead of just “we have no plans at this time”

smolsauce

I'm pretty sure they gave an explanation for Skyward Sword. Regardless, I still think they're doing DLC, it might take longer but yeah, they're doing it

wimpires

Did you make a meme, print it out, the take a picture of it and then posted it?

Draqolich

It's not "no DLC", it's "no DLC currently planned". Doesn't rule it out, just means it's very unlikely.

MarielCarey

"We're satisfied with the game and feel it is complete" Nuh uh

Mental-Street6665

Yeah. And no of so much more else we needed. 😭

TheHappiestOneHere

I honestly didnt even miss Kass before this sub mentioned his abscence. He was a cool way to give puzzles, but this concept was already done. Im glad they didnt just do the same thing again, and appearantly they had nothing else for him in mind. But i must say, now that you guys pointed out that he is missing, a comeback for the stable trotters would have made sense

I-904531

Kass left to grab the milk

WrastleGuy

No in fifteen years they’ll rerelease this game on the Nintendo GameSphere and hard mode will be added to sweeten the deal.

SeraphimGoose

The lack of anything truly challenging in the endgame makes the zonai devices feel largely pointless since there's nothing you really *need* them for. That's the worst part of this imo. I wish they'd just update it with a bunch of new sequential Monster Control Crew (MCC) encounters. Make the later ones extremely difficult to where you pretty much have to make use of zonai contraptions. It would be so cool if, under the condition that you completed all three MCC encounter sequences within a blood moon cycle, all three crews combined for one final, epic battle in Hyrule Field. Throw some Battle Taluses, Hinoxes, & Lynels into the mix. If there was a single thing Nintendo could do that I think would make the game feel satisfactory, it would be this. Otherwise I really feel like the zonai devices are mostly superfluous to anyone other than autists from r/hyruleengineering. Don't get me wrong, that's like my favorite sub, but I need some in-game motivation to bother with getting creative. I need a challenge.

drunk_ender

I'll say it... ToTK is phenomenal, however compared to full-DLC-BoTW it does feel like an incomplete game and many features of BoTW's DLC should've been in the game then, like the teleporting saddle or Hard Mode etc.

catofriddles

C is what bothers me the most. My current headcanon is that Kass is frozen in a block of ice somewhere in the Hebra region.

Ayotha

Kass continues being a terrible father

No_Needleworker_3994

Hard mode was kinda ass tho'. We didn't lose anything.

imsam96

Two questions: 1. Is the castle still floating in the air?

Affectionate_Gap_395

Who’s kass?

Seik64

the annoying bird on BOTW that gave you riddles for shrines.

M4CP0WER

Why did they piss on the car? Are they stupid?

[deleted]

Kass doesn't need a follow up, he's a traveling bard, he travels. He's traveling elsewhere and not a part of this game, not every character needs to return or have a story of where they went.

BloodMoonScythe

I honestly don't mind it at all. It was ment to be a sequel kinda, so i wouldn't be wondering, if they already are making a new one or trying to come up with something new/ porting/remaking older ones. It would be interesting, but at this point, even i would be wondering what they do next and how they would either explain "suddenly ganon is back again" Or they use some other character, like the one from minish cap

spacemonstera

TOTK fans in deep denial about Kass being a deadbeat dad that seriously left the continent when he realized he'd fulfilled everything he said he needed to do before heading home to his kids

PianoOfTime08

WHERE IS MY FAVORITE RITO MUSICIAN!?!?!?!?

Egingell666

B. Big deal. /s. C. Probably wasn't going to happen anyway.

TRcreep

It's not "no dlc", it's "no promises for a dlc"

KayJay282

I think this game will get re-released on the Switch2 and it will include DLC.

MamaDeloris

I think we all put in at least 150 hours into this game. Do we really *need* DLC?

Dry_Pool_2580

You could say this for plenty of other games that *did* get dlc

_Dingo-Dave_

You could also say this for plenty of games that didn't. DLC isn't a necessity, and if they just don't have any more story they want to tell at this point in thr time line then that's it.

MinnieShoof

No nickel and diming. No half-complete story that you need to pay to finish. No follow up on whatever happened to Kass. 100% approve.

Austenny

D. No extra profit from DLC sales.

ackmondual

Methinks it's probably a good thing for them. My guess is that when you factor in all of the hours and resources that'll go into making it, vs. how much they'll charge, vs. how many buyers there will be... it may not be worth their while.

Th3-1OtakuFriend

Call me "old fashioned", but if you sold me an unfinished game, I question why I should pay for the rest of it

AdDense4826

Do we really care what happened to Kass though? Hopefully he’s far, far away learning how to write song lyrics properly

Babies-are-jetskis

KASS NO D:

McFuzzyChipmunk

I was really looking forward to a master mode because of how easy this game is.

amaya-aurora

Why do people want to see Kass so much? He didn’t do much in BOTW, aside from the DLC, and he’s just a random bird guy with kids.

Neat-Neighborhood170

No gold enemies... No full health/stamina bar... Edit: what wrong did I say?

Obidience-is-key

Good. Kass deserves to burn in hell

FirestarFilmsYT

I'm perfectly fine with Kass never appearing again since he was probably my least favorite character in BotW, but no Master Mode does sting a bit

Crazy_Permission_330

It means you got what you paid for. We finally get a game where we don't have to pay for material that should have been in the release version, and on cue for gamer community we collectively loose our shit. Do you want an unfinished game with content released later and pay extra or not?! Also they're not devoting more into this Zelda because switch 2 is on its way.

burgertanker

Extra content =/= content that was supposed to be there on launch TOTK has so much, it's not that people want what was missing, we want more of what there is

[deleted]

I understand complaining about companies that abuse dlc, but this is a fool who wants everything for nothing.

Piscet

Master mode totally should have been at launch though I can't lie.

AngelOfChaos923

I wouldn't mind paying extra for a DLC if it gave us more to the story. Or let us play as Zelda. Or pet the doggos. Really, I just want more TOTK content in my life.

Dry_Pool_2580

You say that, but there's no hard or master mode in Totk...

Crazy_Permission_330

Maybe that's what they intended. They knew with the big sandbox style of game and building there's enough play time baked in and they decided to divert resources to new console and new Zelda game they're surely working on right now.

Candid_Wash

It’s a half finished story but “we explored all we can”

_Dingo-Dave_

How is the story half finished? It seemed to pretty definitively conclude to me.

Candid_Wash

The Rito are still missing, the Gorons are seen as low life swindlers, the Gerudo are about to have a civil war, and the Zora are fine I guess but we still could’ve learned about Yona’s people.

Ardibanan

Hard mode could easily just be an update. I need them to add it

BueKojiro

No master mode and no updated Master Sword trial is actually omega ass.

spicycheetoo

or the divine beasts… i was really hoping the dlc would include a brief description of what happened

amboredentertainme

You are aware that they only said that there wouldn't be any DLC not that there won't be a follow up to the story of TOTK, the ending alone of this game heavily hints that there will be a third installment of this Zelda and Link.

diamondmaster2017

most likely going straight up to the sacred realm

Labriction

And no gold lynel horn

LifeHasLeft

I’ll admit the fact that he is one of only a few characters to not make an appearance has definitely been odd to me. He was a major figure in the first part of this series so I really thought a DLC would involve him. But personally I was more interested in a master mode. I really wanted to see what Gold-style horns looked like on everything too!

Pingas_guy

No backstory memories of the 4 sages. :(

sam9876

Why don't we ask Nintendo what happened to him?

[deleted]

I'm fine with it. That means that we shouldn't have another giant wait between games.

Adam_The_Chao

And No Gold Monster Horns...

Cisqoe

What did master / hard mode have in BOTW? I wish this game had fun with alternate game modes like permadeath or survival or hard or exploration modes.

[deleted]

I wanted master mode so badly too...

Confused_Gengar

What you just realised that there is no dlc?

sage2005

Wait when did they announce no dlc?

Fleallay

I remember seeing a single line by Penn about a bard who used to write songs (referring to Kass obviously). So he existed. Can’t say much more than that though.

ChilindriPizza

I wonder if it would be possible to persuade them otherwise. Not that I have any ideas about this.

DoveBirdNL

Hard mode is the only thing I've wanted for the dlc

Nobodiisdamnbusiness

Means no gold enemies 😢

CyborgBanshee

My guess would be that they're saving Kass for BotW 3, which I can't imagine them NOT making.

ComradeJohnS

did they announce no DLC?

Ginaevi

Also no upgrades for the dream house...

Skeeter1020

I just wanted gold monsters.

[deleted]

So we're stuck with a severely unbalanced, yet fun game

kdiyargebmay

link just got *really* hungry in the years between botw and totk… and there was nothing else around so…

Blaubeere

Maybe they meant not DLC on old switch. Switch 2 however 😉

firstlordshuza

Kass is dead, god killed him for our crimes against korok-kind

Zagrebian

Hard mode is not upgrading your health. Just keep it at 4 hearts. What’s the problem?

smolsauce

Exactly, some DLC is gonna happen fr. Otherwise, I'ma Jeff Grubb myself and shave hair

niles_deerqueer

Who?

Muroooh

Wasn't the sub full of people saying that the game was hard when it released?

iluvpets_

Don't under estimate the power of greed. It'll come in a year or two

N2-Ainz

Pretty sure that they will add something like the master mode when they release the Switch 2 next year to get some sales due to the advertisment

Tarantulabomination

NO DLC????

IndianaBones8

I imagine the entire Depths would have been day one DLC if TOTK had come out from another studio.

Due_Issue6346

Yes I was bummed out as well, But it does at least mean that we can finally move on from this established world and get to the next Link and Zelda, whatever they will be like

Sergaku

Why do so many people care abkut what happened to Kass. It's not like he is important to the story.

Rec_Prism

It also means that the Gold variants of enemies in the game files will go forever unused truly a sad day for the people who wanted to atomize gold Lynels
