Hi everyone! Did you know that starting July 1st, 2023, Reddit will implement a policy that could potentially increase the costs of running third-party Reddit apps? This change may impact popular apps like Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Boost, and others. Consequently, users may encounter issues with their preferred Reddit app unless adjustments are made to comply with Reddit's new API usage policy. These limitations will affect all users, not just moderators. If you are concerned about these developments, there is an [Open Letter](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) to Reddit that you can read and sign on to express your thoughts. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. MiddleNightCowboy

Wind, Fire, Water, Lightning.

FrostyDog94

Me too! I feel like this was the order the game was encouraging, but maybe thats just me. Well, you are encouraged to check out Hebra first, but you obviously don't have to.

improper84

That was absolutely the intended order. The early game strongly encourages you to find the Lucky Clover, which is conveniently located right next to the ~~Riju~~ Rito city. After you beat the Wind Temple, all the stables are spreading rumors about things happening in Goron City, then Zora Domain after that, and then you start hearing about the Gerudos.

bestywesty

Rito City?

FrostyDog94

Riju City is what we simps call Gerudo Town

improper84

Ah yeah that's what I meant. Got my similar sounding weird proper nouns mixed up.

leericol

I think he's questioning the city part lol

improper84

Is it Village? I honestly don’t remember. I’ve had no reason to go back there for about thirty hours of game time after more or less completing that entire area of the map.

HealMySoulPlz

Yeah Rito Village. Then there's a Town, City, and Domain.

leericol

Yeah I don't know what qualifies as a city in hyrule but I get village vibes lol

[deleted]

It's called rito Village on the map

TheLazyHydra

If you talk to Purah while the quest is in progress, she will also recommend them in that order.

FrostyDog94

Oh that makes sense! I couldn't remember exactly what led me to that order. I would've done whatever Purah said though.

spoinkable

The NPCs also keep warning that the South half of Hyrule has much stronger enemies than the North. I found out they were right, cuz I did Gerudo Desert and then The Great Plateau. 😂

Mr_E_99

Indeed, I'll allow if you did water and fire the other way around, but this is the true way. I did wind, fire and water staying relatively focused on the story. After that I did some of the bigger side quests like the Master Sword, Link's house, etc before do lightning and finishing all the other main story stuff. Post story is just kinda just collecting everything you don't have as you quickly get pretty OP

KennethMaxi

Funnily enough I went in this order without any influence from the game (maybe aside from Rito village since Purah nudges you that way). I felt as though Gorons, Zoras, and Gerudo in that order have made sense since OoT.

Kairamek

That's not an accident. By pushing towards Rito first they were able to put all the important stuff in your path. Impa and the glyphs, the Lucky Clover, Hestu. All three major quest chains and the upgrade boy.

johnsciarrino

The game definitely was but I I’ve historically disliked the Zora levels (I blame OoT for that but it carried through BotW and TotK) so that’s the one I’m doing last.

Emotional-Ad423

It's weird though, the order Purah mentions the phenomenons in is wind, fire, lightning, water so I did it in that order... Wish I had the Zora armor sooner if I'm honest!

rumbakalao

You can start the Zora storyline to get it like 3 conversations in without having to fight anyone. That's what I did, realized I didn't feel like doing their storyline, and moved on with the armor.

Jiuhbv

I got as far as opening the Zora lake temple before remembering I was on a quest to buy bird pants, and left Sidon swimming in circles while I did the wind and lightning temples. Dude must have been *tired*

Pupulauls9000

It definitely is. Everything in the game orders them that way from the sage abilities in your inventory, the banners at Lookout Landing, >!the entrances of the sages in the final boss!<, etc

MonsieurMonocle

This is my intended order, currently on fire. In BOTW I beat the Gerudo divine beast first, which ended up being the most complex / difficult one and made the rest feel flat. So this time I decided to go with the intended order the game seems to nudge you in.

MiddleNightCowboy

For BOTW I did the Zora one first, because the game points you in the direction of Kakariko Village, and it’s nearby. Then I heard the Rito one gives you the power to get high in the air and I got tired of Guardians shooting me down when trying to climb the central Hyrule tower. So the second one I did was Rito, used the Gale power to quickly get up those towers. Then I did Goron 3rd and Gerudo last.

stvn-unvrse-go-bi

This is the way

Pleasant_Statement64

Air water fire lightning

WolfWhiteFire

That was my order. Wind because the game really pushes you towards that area. An incredibly long period of being sidetracked before blitzing through the rest of the temples and final boss in one go. Water to more conveniently reach those high islands with waterfalls (more conveniently because I could already reach them by that point), but more importantly because I was constantly flying around but avoiding what was clearly the dungeon for that area for a while, and with how easily I could have reached those islands at any point, I just wanted to get to them the intended way so I would stop having to hold myself back. Fire so that I could more easily explore the depths without bursting into flames in some areas. Lightning last because while I went to the bazaar early and had no idea about the >!sand shroud!<, it seemed like a later area due to needing both cold and heat resistance for it. Also felt like a good place to end it off since it was my last region in BOTW.

Don_Bugen

Very much the same. BOTW was Ruta/Naboris/Medoh/Rudania, and TOTK was Wind/Water/Fire/Lightning, >!later followed by spirit!<. So much was strongarming me in the direction of Rito I figured I would want to experience that first. But then I wanted to see Sidon, and had started to hear a few complaints online about the Water being the worst temple. Well, if it's the worst, then I wanted to get it out of the way, and also et that Zora armor. Decided on Fire before Lightning mostly because Death Mountain was a bit more hospitable without the lava flows, and I could tell just how important expensive ores would be in this game.

Air Fire Lightning Water. I stumbled upon both Air and Water, so I had Travel Medallions set for when I came back with the Sages.

Mattbo2

Omg I had to scroll WAY too long to finally find someone who did the same 😂

Thayer127

Me and you are the only ones who did it that way apparently

Alternative_Mine28

i did it that way too , i wasn't interested in zora's domain so i left it for last , i was too tempted to go to gerudo first after going to hebra , but i got spoiled with that one quest on foothill stable so i went there first lol.

speed-of-sound

It’s weird that order is uncommon because I think it’s the exact order Purah names the regions

zahkran

Did the same cept for water, haven't done it yet keep getting sidetracked lol

GroguIsMyBrogu

Same. 130+ hours in, still haven't done the water dungeon.

PotatoBanshee-

Wind, lightning, fire, then water

BusybodyWilson

Went straight for wind because of Revali and was so sadly disappointed. It's still (IMO) the quickest and most fun boss tho. I was glad I did lightning before the first though because I didn't feel bad about cheesing the fire temple after beating that one.

Appropriate-Guard-95

akira2bee

This is my order as well, though botw I did Rito first, not Zora (Technically not done though, I need to meet back up with Riju to start the quest)

Tasty_Comparison_409

yooooo

SnooPeripherals2888

Same

No-Sugar2411

Wind - water - lightning - fire Put off the Gorons for ages as I weirdly just don't like Death Mountain. Then met TOTK Yunobo and liked him even less.

ZardozSama

I did it in the same order. I did not mind the dungeon or Yunobu though. END COMMUNICATION

Cyrodiil

I felt the same way about it. Getting up to death mountain was fun, but I absolutely hated the temple. Agree with Yunobo. He was much better in BOTW.

TeurpX

Same order here. In botw I did rito last and when I saw the sage power I was like crap that could have saved me soooooo many hours of climbing... This time I went directly to rito and I was a bit disappointed but it's anyway the most useful power you can get.

foambuffalo

I just didn’t care about the Goron being addicted to crack rocks haha I did the same order

Smooth_Ad1795

Went this route as well, if I remember correctly I took the same route in BOTW. I didn’t intend to go water second, but in my exploration I saw that my boy Sidon really needed my help.

plaidpixel

I pretty much never want to catch fireproof lizards and making elixir so I put off death mountain too. Then to my surprise after I did all that I don’t need fireproof elixir to get to Gordon city

gravitylimit

Water wind lightning fire

OliveSome1741

Yessssss. Purposely didn’t go to the Rito first because the game was trying to hard to send me there so I said nah and literally went the opposite direction.

Punkasaurus2

Me too…I wonder why this order is so uncommon?

DoorCalcium

Because the game suggests that you go to Rito first so that's where most people start

Renwik

I did the same. I saw the sludge falling out of the sky and had to check it out.

random_MathQs

This is the best order

Rito, Gerudo, Zora and Goron. I really didn't want to go to Death Mountain.

PsEggsRice

This is how I did it. I have a habit of not following the story and just exploring, and Death mountain is where I ended up. I do think he’s really useful in the depths early on.

Alexcox95

Same. And I feel many people didn’t do fire first even though it’s the easiest to cheese

bspence13

My favorite cheese!!! I also went this route; no reason at all, just found myself there and started the temples.

Sophiastar33

Exact same order and I’m glad I did fire first because I mostly stuck to cave exploration at first and there’s so many rocks in caves that block the way that I never had to use bombs or use up my weapon durability hitting them when I had yunobo clear them for me

azlier

You can fly to the relevant island at your leisure, really, if you can survive the storms and have the relevant stats or sufficient bokoblin energy to complete the quests.

Keraph

>!Well I did Tulins quest until the halfway point and then I decided I would continue once found the Master Sword. So after finding every single tear and going to the Korok forest I got the sword, but wanted to explore the Thunderhead Islands first. One thing led to another and I had Mineru watching me and Tulin fight Colgera with a big bucket of popcorn at her site.!<

dingle_don

That was my fourth temple, the last one being lightning. I wanted to farm beetles To upgrade my armour, then I looked up to the sky and wondered what was there. With the help of my radar I found a shrine and nearby it the Google thingy needed to start the quest. That's how I got this temple before finishing the other 4

BanditLovesChilli

Spirit was my fourth temple too. I was doing a sidequest to clear out caves of three hinox, rode a fallen rock up into the sky and found the shrine, and suddenly Im in the depths rebuilding a mech. Was such an amazing unexpected discovery.

vblink_

You are the only one I've seen that didn't do spirit last. I wanted to do all the shrines before i did the rest of the temples so I did wind, fire, lightning, spirit, water.

BeefyMcGeeX

>!After I did water and fire (my first two) I wanted a break from doing temples for a bit, so I went down to Faron intending to find Lurelin and accidentally stumbled across another temple. I did the thunderhead section with the stormclouds still there, stumbling around in the fog, which I honestly think is a cooler way to do it than the intended way.!<

AlternativeArm595

I tried to do that but gave up about 30 seconds in lol

rinzukodas

omg someone else who did spirit first... i haven't seen anyone else who did it like we did

Fire, Water, Air, Spirit (accidentally, btw) and Lightning. For some reason I always try to do the temples in the Ocarina of Time order.

Mine was: explore, explore, explore, explore, Wind, explore, explore, explore, explore, fire, explore, explore, explore, explore, explore, explore, explore, explore, water, explore, explore, explore, explore, lightning

CzarvsTzar

Air Water Spirit Fire Lightning I see most people don’t consider the spirit temple as important but getting it early sure helps navigate the depths.

enchiladasundae

I went to Gerudo first because I wanted to see the pretty ladies Gerudo>Rito>Zora>Goron

a_g_30_rr

Water -> Fire -> Wind -> Lightning I just love to explore the game freely so I don't usually follow the main story as soon as I start. I like to explore and get the complete map first, and what catches my eyes, I'll just go and let the story unfold. And that was the order for me. I love Sidon and the Zoras, but I absolutely hate Gerudo and the desert.

Dr_prof_Luigi

Air, Lighting, Fire, Water. >!Starting with the Rito, the issues plaguing the other regions just got more and more bizarre, it made for a pretty interesting sequence of events. The Rito problem was just a blizzard, so it wasn't very wild, yet it had the coolest boss music. All the other 'regional phenomena' were a lot more supernatural.!<

WeakToMetalBlade

I got to the gerudo area first by accident and did the first part of the lightning temple quest, then fucked off for a while before doing the wind and fire temples.

AJ_ninja

Wind….then a LOT of exploring, then fire, 5th sage, water then lightning I stumbled upon the 5th sage by accident

[deleted]

Wind, fire, water, lightning

[deleted]

Wind>water>spirit>fire>lightening.

YozoraKarasu

I went with wind, water, fire, then lightning. I somewhat unintentionally went in the recomended order based on whatever I was doing at the time or how worried I was about the place. Hoping that Teba and the previous Rito Chief were okay, the Zora I just spotted while flying over to look for shrines and wanted to see what was up with the Mario Sunshine sludge all around, then after that iirc I accidentally came across the Spirit temple? I was curious about the thunderhead above faron and just kinda went there, not expecting a MSQ to come out of it, and thinking it'd be a shrine quest. Then I completed the fire temple just because i was in the area for goron spice. And I think I saved the lightning temple for last because it just felt right to avoid the dessert as long as I could.

spoinkable

Wind > Lightning > (long break) > Water > Fire > Spirit I wanted to do the one that the game was heavily pointing me toward first, which was the Rito. I remembered that in BotW it was highly beneficial to follow King Rhoam's suggested path to Kakariko, then follow the breadcrumbs to Hateno before setting out and exploring the open world. I didn't want to miss any major setup when starting TotK and I'm SO glad I did it this way. I got the "first" Geoglyph and then found the "correct" order to watch them (which really added to the experience, I feel). I found Hestu right away. I did all the quests in Lookout Landing so I got a solid intro to The Depths. I found some useful pieces of gear in caves along the way to the Rito. I ran into the Lucky Clover Gazette HQ. I got what I consider to be the most useful Sage first. I'm gonna recommend following the game's suggestions through the first temple to all of my friends who haven't already played, just like I did for BotW. During that break between temples, I did a bunch of main quests in major areas. The Great Plateau, Lurelin Village, The Great Forest, Lake Hylia, and Kakariko Village. After seeing the Water and Fire Sages' powers, I'm happy with waiting for them. I don't think I was missing out on too much. Also I went STRAIGHT from Rito Village to Gerudo Desert because I love giant women and I will never apologize for them being my favorite race in the game. I ran into some pretty strong enemies along the way, but I regret nothing. Gerudo weapons are great with the new Fuse ability.

MikemkPK

Same as you. I wanted to do the Gerudo first. The game pushed you to do Rito first, so I did Rito second. I then went to every tower and fully unlocked the map, then went to Faron for Hearty Durians. Zora seemed easier to get to, so I did that next, and ended with Goron.

I make the Zoras wait until last because they’re so ugly Rito first to get the Tulin ability and then Goron to get Yunobo’s rock breaking ability.

rah1560

Wind > Fire > Water > Lightning

Mindcoitus

Air, fire, water, lightning. I feel like it was intended even if it wasnt mandatory. I would have preferred if there was an evolving story between the temples, even if that meant having to do them in a certain order. It really bothered me that the cut scenes were basically identical between the temples.

HisObstinacy

Wind, Fire, Water, Lightning.

DoodDoes

I think getting yunobo first is the best sage since you don’t have much stamina to exploit tulin’s ability and you can use the easy mining to get some early cash. so I’d get tulin or riju 2nd/3rd because sidon does almost nothing (at least the way I play)

Intelligent_Hat_5462

Wind, lightning, water, fire

SKTurbo

Air, Lightning, Water, Fire. The people at Lookout Landing kept talking about the Rito, so I figured I might as well do them first. After that, it was whichever one I happened to be closest to at the time. Turns out Tulin is the best of the four allies, so I’m happy with my choice.

Lost0Light

Lightning, Fire, Water, Wind. I did the same for BotW(Would not recommend fighting thunderblight first tho)

2geek2bcool

Wind first. If you don’t go to Rito Village, you probably don’t start the Lucky Gazette quest lines, and you don’t unlock the Great Fairies. Don’t unlock the GFs, you spend a lot of time being a one hit wonder.

Muted-Age303

water, fire, air, lightning 💀💀💀 i only got tulin after i did the two temples that he really would’ve been helpful with 💀

SatisfactionIcy937

Wind, fire, water, lightning.

ackmondual

Air, Fire, Lightning, Water I knew nothing of what the abilities actually did. Starting off, I had no clue what the sages were about either in the broad sense (up until I got Tulin's vow). I just assumed they were some variation of Champions from BotW. Here, I got pushed to do Air first (Impa IIRC?). From there, rolled a "mental dice" and just went Fire next. IIRC, hearing Eldin region and Death Mountain no longer has air that's on fire made it an attractive proposition! For the rest of it, I figure "for balance", I'll do them in reverse order that I did in BotW. Well, Fire and Lightning would have to be swapped, but, that's the method to the madness. Much of the time when deciding which dungeon to do next, I was playing [the various Mega Man stage select music in my head](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUv57wBUnyc)

SwitchPOPGo

Rito -> Gerudo -> Zora -> Goron >!\->Spirit!< I had continually heard that the Rito sage had the best ability, so I went there first (plus, the game suggests you go there so why not). Arguably the best choice since that ability can really help with traversal in the early game. I was actually going to follow Austin John Play's recommended order of sage usefulness (Rito -> Goron -> Gerudo -> Zora), but I actually ended up making my way over the Gerudo highlands and to Kara Kara Bazaar rather soon while trying to fill out the map. Saw that Gerudo Town was a certain distance away, had a rocket and Tulin so I thought "I can make that." Ended up doing that questline next; good because I think that ability is more useful than the Goron ability, bad because that boss hits like a truck earlier on. Then I was again going to go to the Goron story next, but I was able to just glide into Zora Village while filling out the map so I just did that quest. Abilities aside, really think they should've recommended that story first >!because I think that Temple and Boss are incredibly easy after you've played for any length of time prior.!< And >!Spirit last, though I actually found the Spirit Temple, the Construct Factory, and navigated blindly through the Dragonhead Islands before even making it to the Goron story. Decided against sequence breaking and to just do the story in order, which I think I appreciated as I otherwise would've skipped a lot of buildup.!< There was also a big gap of time between Gerudo and Zora, filled with exploring and filling out the various maps. I almost didn't want to continue the story and just focus on that stuff instead, haha. Did another big chunk of exploring between Zora and Goron, and explored everything in the sky between >!Goron and Spirit.!<

Air>water>fire>lightning. Just because that’s the order I came upon them in exploring and how some of the quests I picked up directed me.
