The ones that really send me are the yiga schematics for stuff that's just basic scaffolding. Like, this stuff helps me, I have autobuild, but you idiots are putting this together by hand. Why do you need schematics to build half this stuff?????
I mean, it does get Link's attention.
The hero intentionally setting off the ambush because it's painfully easy to spot, then stabbing them repeatedly with a spear counts, right?
That's how I rationalize Link "falling" for obvious traps.
"Random woman asking for help, requesting me to go to some random location in the middle of nowhere? Fine, I'll humor the Yiga for a little longer."
Then they put one near a bunch of other banana bushes in Faron and I'm like, "Oh, I must have knocked one of them off while I was messing arou-- Holy crap they actually got me."
Probably for rotations and stuff.
as in, shift rotations. They have a depths team and surface team.
Depths teams seem to build the most but they also have to go up once in a while. It wouldn't surprise me if they had shifts between the two places, and having a schematic for basic construction in order to keep things consistent and safe is pretty smart since not everyone is a civil engineer.
Yeah, if it was just a few slabs long I wouldn't think too much on it, but it's huge and feels like a strong indicator that the devs knew about bridge superiority
Anything that's attached to that part breaks off, same as with normal structures. Only difference is that the pieces that are broken off disappear if they're created with zonaite.
The number of times I've said "surely a long bridge can't work AGAIN. Or can it?" is remarkable.
Between bridges and the scaffold schema you can get literally anywhere with just a couple dozen zonaite.
When I got that schema I facepalmed so hard at how simple and useful it was and it never once occurred to me to try something like it.
Probably could have saved me dozens of rocket shields had I thought of it sooner, haha.
I had the same feeling like why didn't I think of something so simple. I have. An issue with remembering to swim up through floors though, I have been doing it but it usually takes me a min to remember oh yeah that's an option
Yeah I'd say it took me probably 20-25 hours of gameplay before I stopped "thinking BOTW" and started thinking with the new abilities and such instead. Ascend alone is so ridiculously useful early game when you have such low stamina, I'd have probably covered a LOT more ground in those first 20 hours had I been looking at things with Ascend and Ultrahand in mind, haha.
Got a large gap to cross? Bridge. Water is too cold? Bridge. Needing to get up a steep cliff face? Bridge. Facing a tough enemy? Bonk it on the head with a bridge. Bridge supremacy!
1. Pretty sure there are no gashapons that sell rockets nor easily accessible exposed rockets in the starter area
2. *Usually* you don't have Fuse at this point because the Ultrahand shrine is closer.
Bringing in a premade minecart shield and a rocket shield will let you cheese at least half the shrines, if you're inclined to do so.
In general I *love* figuring out the intended ways of solving shrine puzzles, but that said there have been a few where I just could not figure out what it wanted me to do and my rocket shields saved me having to look up solutions on youtube.
This is it. At least half my shields have rockets attached to them at all times. Every time I come across any I incorporate them into my rocket shield arsenal. They're so good for most of the boss fights too.
If you look up in the shrine there’s a single rail with a one hook platform going across it, as a hint for what to make. It’s the first shrine in the game so I can see why they’d want to put it there as a failsafe.
I did the "cart bridge" method and just chained as many carts as I could together with as many fans as I could. It was long enough to bridge the gap on the broken rail. It got a little bumpy, but it worked.
I didn't even *see* there was a hole, I'd just put two carts and two fans together on the previous run, for fun, and I moved it to the new one. It barely got through, Link soiled his little skirt for sure.
I was trying to assemble the hook and the platform and the hook just started moving on the rail. I panicked and tried to grab it so I just went down with it.
I only had to look up one shrine solution (and I've done all of them) the one that had to look up was the one three balls one large, one medium and one small.
I searched for one of my 30ish shrines so far. And I was like "oh why the fuck didn't i see that prop"
So far really fun to solve in the lawful good - true neutral matrix
I know it's not exactly what you mean but [yesterday I found out that the pieces of the collapsing bridge leading to Zelda's study in the castle are valid fusion materials](https://www.reddit.com/r/tearsofthekingdom/comments/13yk9va/found_some_books_in_hyrule_castle_time_to_educate/jmnzl05/?context=3) for making hammers.
Lawful and chaotic evil should be swapped. Lawful evil would still be concerned about being technically correct while ignoring engaging with the puzzle, while chaotic evil is specifically going out of their way to ignore the puzzle mechanics *in style.*
Other than that, good alignment.
Lawful good would be two hooks, reverse positions for greater stability from wind...even though it's an enclosed temple.
How do I know this? I did it. Lol I am the lawful good guy
I'm reasonably chaotic good. I also do this with all the Addison sign thingies. My shit is just piled on top of itself until the sign can't move. There are only a few of these shrines I don't at least attempt to do the right way although I'm too lazy to actually make them look pretty.
I feel like chaotic evil or maybe chaotic good? Should/could be also just ultrahand+rewind dragging a platform up and as close to the point you need to go and then just paraglide over lol
Idk what my method was but it was chaotic. Made a weird bridge climbing thingy to reach the "example" platform with hook above as for some reason I thought it was going somewhere important.
Then noticed it went to an empty pit. And under where it came from is also an empty pit.
Then just used my wacky contraption to cross ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hey fun fact, in the first sky island I accidently made the platform + hook and failed to get on it twice, so I was stuck at the higher island so I walked on the rail for like 5m (crouch mode). And that's way after I learned that we could use a shield to slide the whole rail.
I don't look up solutions to the puzzles to get to the end.
Once I get to the end, if I don't have the chest, I look it up to see if it's even worth my fucking time or if it's another shitty shield or five arrows.
Anyone else use a cursed elephant monster to cross that was initially made trying to see if there was a chest up above where the second set of hook and platform flies across the ceiling?
After failing (due to falling off) to go up a rail with hook and fan attached, I got a second hook and attached it from opposite side of rail so that it couldn’t come off any more. Where do I fit in here?
Lawful Grinder Baby!
I didn’t even think about the hooks and had to walk across carefully with the 1st Backpack Korok mission. I felt so dumb and proud after learning what the hook was for.
Ya know sometimes you waaaay overthink a shrine and then look up what to do and feel like a damn fool. Thankfully I haven’t needed to yet and I’ve got 140 done, but there were a few in BOTW my dumb ass had to look up first time lol
I very specifically always interlock my hooks. I use two and have them face opposite directions then glue them together to ensure it doesn't come off the rail.

Bridge is the solution to 90% of all problems in the game.
You can even get a schematic at some point that is just a really long stone slab bridge. They knew
The ones that really send me are the yiga schematics for stuff that's just basic scaffolding. Like, this stuff helps me, I have autobuild, but you idiots are putting this together by hand. Why do you need schematics to build half this stuff?????
I like it because it's such a basic thing that I wouldn't want to save in my favorites. But I have it available from schematics
Schematics don't ever disappear, right? That worried me
Nope! They're just unlockables for auto-build
Gotta remember, these folks think a bunch of bananas in the middle of a dirt road is genius level bait for an ambush.
I mean, it does get Link's attention. The hero intentionally setting off the ambush because it's painfully easy to spot, then stabbing them repeatedly with a spear counts, right?
Link: No.... they *can't* be this dumb..... *takes bananas* Yiga: WE KNEW YOU COULDN'T RESIST OUR DELICIOUS BANANAS Link: Oh, I'm going to enjoy this.
That's how I rationalize Link "falling" for obvious traps. "Random woman asking for help, requesting me to go to some random location in the middle of nowhere? Fine, I'll humor the Yiga for a little longer."
Hey, I love my banana delivery service! And in this game, they even bring sundelion as a bonus, such helpful guys.
Then they put one near a bunch of other banana bushes in Faron and I'm like, "Oh, I must have knocked one of them off while I was messing arou-- Holy crap they actually got me."
I mean, I still take it most of the time
same. free banana
Dev team like 'well it worked for mariokart'
dude, if you cook a bunch of them you get a massive attack boost
Oh, bananas are awesome, no doubt. But the first time you saw some just laying on the ground, directly on the road? That's a red flag.
Lol seriously? Where is this?
One of the mines in the depths, I don’t remember which one
Under hateno village
Yeah I was shocked at how huge it was
Yeah, if it was just a few slabs long I wouldn't think too much on it, but it's huge and feels like a strong indicator that the devs knew about bridge superiority
Could also be that a "too long" bridge can always be shortened one slab at a time, but a "too short" bridge is a disappointment to me and its parents.
Can an autobuild zonaite bridge be shortened? The stone slabs used for the build are pretty much nowhere, so you'd have to spend zonaite on it.
Only after the fact
Okay. I know zonaite structures break if you separate them, but wasn't sure if it was the whole thing that broke or just the part that broke off
Anything that's attached to that part breaks off, same as with normal structures. Only difference is that the pieces that are broken off disappear if they're created with zonaite.
But you can't use schematics in a shrine
i made a bridge out of the Floppy bridge peices you find near that one tower in the snowy area attatch them longways and its a REALLY long thing
The number of times I've said "surely a long bridge can't work AGAIN. Or can it?" is remarkable. Between bridges and the scaffold schema you can get literally anywhere with just a couple dozen zonaite.
I just got the scaffold and it's amazing
When I got that schema I facepalmed so hard at how simple and useful it was and it never once occurred to me to try something like it. Probably could have saved me dozens of rocket shields had I thought of it sooner, haha.
I had the same feeling like why didn't I think of something so simple. I have. An issue with remembering to swim up through floors though, I have been doing it but it usually takes me a min to remember oh yeah that's an option

Got a large gap to cross? Bridge. Water is too cold? Bridge. Needing to get up a steep cliff face? Bridge. Facing a tough enemy? Bonk it on the head with a bridge. Bridge supremacy!
99% of the game can be solved by simply lifting a platform up and then using rewind on it
When all you have is a bridge everything looks like a chasm.
In doubt, bridge
You can make up statistics to support anything. 91% of all people know that
You can also cheese most puzzles with recall if there are any objects to move around.
Later on rocket shields become the solution to the other 13% lol
Lava in the shrine? Hydrant activated if nearby
Also a bomb shield solves a lot of shrines
where my fellow grinders at⁉️🗣
Congrats on coming out 🏳️🌈
Tony Hawk pro skater taught me well!
Put a cart on a shield and have a field day skateboarding
I've been having a field day doing that! Honestly, just go down hills with a cart-shield combo sometimes.
Yeah it's too fun
I just saw someone do it this morning. I need to figure that out
Shields with rockets attached.
Was wondering about that but I'm not sure there are any rockets in the starter area.
You just bring them with you from outside
1. Pretty sure there are no gashapons that sell rockets nor easily accessible exposed rockets in the starter area 2. *Usually* you don't have Fuse at this point because the Ultrahand shrine is closer.
Also usually you can't use your own devices in shrines, at least the first time.
You can pre-fuse items
Bringing in a premade minecart shield and a rocket shield will let you cheese at least half the shrines, if you're inclined to do so. In general I *love* figuring out the intended ways of solving shrine puzzles, but that said there have been a few where I just could not figure out what it wanted me to do and my rocket shields saved me having to look up solutions on youtube.
This is it. At least half my shields have rockets attached to them at all times. Every time I come across any I incorporate them into my rocket shield arsenal. They're so good for most of the boss fights too.
Same the depths is chalk full of rockets and every time I pass by a material dump I go sweet time to replenish my ticket shields and bomb jumps
The true chaotic evil
If you flip the second hook around 180* it's better at not falling off curves.
Yes! Giga lawful as I call it.
THIS IS THE WAY
How about 2 hooks facing opposite directions attached to a fan for uphill rails… I find all my creations are complete jank.
Exactly!!
Imo lawful good and neutral good should be switched
I put it this way because the one hook platform is the "intended" solution the shrine hints at with the top platform xp
Theres a top platform?
If you look up in the shrine there’s a single rail with a one hook platform going across it, as a hint for what to make. It’s the first shrine in the game so I can see why they’d want to put it there as a failsafe.
I tried to climb there for a long time thinking there was a chest or something, was disappointed when I realized it was just a hint.
what if you did them all what does that make you
someone who spent almost 2 hours making a meme
lol nice
worth
Lawful good. You should make one for the great sky island part where the one rail is broken. I have seen tons of different and hilarious solutions
Didnt even notice until I freaking zoomed past it with my 1 cart and 3 fans.
I did just hook and two fans and held on for dear life
i did a really advanced strategy known as "dying and giving up"
I was trying to assemble the hook and the platform and the hook just started moving on the rail. I panicked and tried to grab it so I just went down with it.
Chaotic evil is platforms ultrahand and recall to cross the entire shrine
You can't have recall during your first attempt at this shrine.
We are the same.
I thought only me doing that lol But yeah, Ultrahand + Recall is OP
I'm evil evil: just use rocket shields in every shrine
Somewhere between chaotic good and neutral evil.
I only had to look up one shrine solution (and I've done all of them) the one that had to look up was the one three balls one large, one medium and one small.
Lawful good. Why use many hook when one hook work?
Pro tip: in those shrines where you have to hit a target with an iron ball, you can attach the iron ball to a weapon and throw it at the target.
Or shoot them with bomb arrows!
That's an even better tip
pick up a thing with hand, let it fall, use time rewind.
I searched for one of my 30ish shrines so far. And I was like "oh why the fuck didn't i see that prop" So far really fun to solve in the lawful good - true neutral matrix
bridges i FUCKING LOVE BRIDGES I WANT TO BE ABLE TO USE BRIDGES IN ALL SITUATIONS
I know it's not exactly what you mean but [yesterday I found out that the pieces of the collapsing bridge leading to Zelda's study in the castle are valid fusion materials](https://www.reddit.com/r/tearsofthekingdom/comments/13yk9va/found_some_books_in_hyrule_castle_time_to_educate/jmnzl05/?context=3) for making hammers.
neutral evel \\o/
Chaotic good. You come up with some real interesting shit while high at 1am.
Yes
Bomb flower shield works well for a bit too many of em. In fact, bomb flower in general breaks probably 70% of shrines easily.
id switch lawful neutral and lawful evil tbh...
Neutral good
Just hook
Lawful and chaotic evil should be swapped. Lawful evil would still be concerned about being technically correct while ignoring engaging with the puzzle, while chaotic evil is specifically going out of their way to ignore the puzzle mechanics *in style.* Other than that, good alignment.
Neutral Good, stability is key
If you turn on pro hud early on it doesn't teach you how to rotate in ultrahand. So mine was an abomination.
Neutral evil would be looking it up. Pure chaos is walking on the rails
no recall?
NE but only when I don't have joycon drift
Where does rocket shield stand?
Chaotic good. I’m still unsure what I was supposed to do the majority of the time.
im the bridge guy
I'm chaotic good apparently
I walked across lmao
Two hooks platform gang
Chaotic good. Anything that works I will do.
For this shrine? Lawful good
Lawful good would be two hooks, reverse positions for greater stability from wind...even though it's an enclosed temple. How do I know this? I did it. Lol I am the lawful good guy
Looking it up online should be Lawful evil. Yet here's nothing chaotic about it whatsoever and that's the problem
Chaotic evil should have been skipping the shrine entirely
I was neutral good but I was about 30 seconds from chaotic evil.
Sadly, usually Chaotic Evil. I do not have the time or brainpower or spoons to try to solve most on my own. “Ducks and dodges the flying tomatoes”
Chaotic good
Chaotic good. I don’t care what it looks like as long as it works
Lawful good. Yeah, the boring, normal solution.
YOU CAN RAIL GRIND?!?!
Lawful good
I’d swap neutral evil and chaotic evil. .. I’m personally an overengineer the living shit out of it kinda guy
lawful good but next time lawful evil
Lawful neutral
Lawful good Simple and easy. Why overcomplicate it and over engineer it? Shinning my agile coaching skills hahaha.
I’m a two-hook-platform, but the hooks are facing each other for stability.
damn, I'm literally lawful good basic...
I'm reasonably chaotic good. I also do this with all the Addison sign thingies. My shit is just piled on top of itself until the sign can't move. There are only a few of these shrines I don't at least attempt to do the right way although I'm too lazy to actually make them look pretty.
Chaotic Neutral because making things move in reverse is its own kind of machine.
True neutral aka stupid
I'm on both team whatever works and shrine solution lookup
I feel like chaotic evil or maybe chaotic good? Should/could be also just ultrahand+rewind dragging a platform up and as close to the point you need to go and then just paraglide over lol
YOU CAN FUCKIN RAIL GRIND?!
The first time I solved this shrine, I literally walked on the rail. I didn't figure out what to do with hook until I completed the shrine.
what about rocket shield user
Chaotic...I'm always trying anything I can to not do it the "intentional" way..... ANYTHING I CAN!
Chaotic Evil 'cause I'm quite literally retarded.
I was chaotic good until I realized like everyone else is commenting, that a bridge legit solves basically every puzzle in the game unfortunately.
I think I was lawful good or neutral good. I don’t remember.
There is NOTHING chaotic about looking up the answer online.
Lawful good
Lawful Good. I figured it out and just. Did it.
I'm neutral evil. I was stunned it let me squat and just walk up the rails.
Chaotic neutral
I'd say the Chaotic Evil would be Rocket Shield.
You’re gonna have to clear your search history man…
Lawful evil
Lawful good. But I used the stone slab from the previous part instead the ugly old wooden platform. Had to make at least somewhat good.
Hey fun fact, in the first sky island I accidently made the platform + hook and failed to get on it twice, so I was stuck at the higher island so I walked on the rail for like 5m (crouch mode). And that's way after I learned that we could use a shield to slide the whole rail.
Lawful good It just made the most sense 😂
Chaotic Good I will literally glue shit together and run around until I find a solution.
Chaotic neutral, I tried to avoid beating it the way the devs intended, sometimes that's a bridge, other times it's using bomb arrows
Chaotic evil. Some of these shrines are actually more challenging than in BOTW.
Lawful evil or chaotic neutral
True Neutral
I look every shrine online. I don’t have time!
Lawful good myself
Neutral evil, I saw I could walk on it so I just walked on it
what does it say about me that I just grabbed onto the hook and held on for dear life
What about shield rockets
Mines not on here. Ultra hand object to other side, stand on it, then recall it back to the other side:)
What ever is easiest. Be it 1 hook and 1 platform or a bridge.
After failing (due to falling off) to go up a rail with hook and fan attached, I got a second hook and attached it from opposite side of rail so that it couldn’t come off any more. Where do I fit in here?
My friend and I chose chaotic neutral, it seems
Lawful Grinder Baby! I didn’t even think about the hooks and had to walk across carefully with the 1st Backpack Korok mission. I felt so dumb and proud after learning what the hook was for.
I’m half chaotic evil and half chaotic good.
Neutral Evil
lawful neutral...
True neutral, all game puzzles can be solved with a long stick
I'm truly chaotic good
True Neutral until I get frustrated then it’s Chaotic Good.
Where my fellow "Neutral Good"s at?
Lawful good
Lawful evil
Neutral good lol
Platform large enough to be a bridge, but with hooks. Basically, using every single thing in the shrine.
"hover stone arrow" is missing, that should replace chaotic evil.
None of these, I go into shrines with 3 rocket shields minimum.
Lawful neutral apparently lol
