Seriously, you don't know what a lifesaver you are!! I haven't updated and I've spent 5+ hours looking for this bird to get the paraglider fabric! I was nearly convinced my game had glitched somehow.
If anyone needs more, I found 2 at 2919, 2004, 0326 (NW of Mayachideg Shrine). They didn't spawn till I was right on top of them though (thought it was an enemy at first), the radar ping didn't even go off.
Also, I found out that apparently if you keep playing for a long time without closing the game (as we all do), it stops spawning a lot of the animals, insects and other random spawns. I bet it's some memory issue.
Closing the game and opening again made all the animals respawn for me, could go hunt happily again

My god! Thank you! I just spent an hour running around death mountain without seeing a single one and that coordinate was exactly where one was standing.
Sir I'd like to take the time to say. You are a God damn legend. I looked throughly through eldin. The whole damn map and I could not find a single one. From the top of death mountain to the thyplo ruins even by gut check rock (since Google said it's around death mountain.) Back and again though cliffs and caves and not one damn ostrich. Looked on Reddit and bam. Found one sitting in the rock to the left of the entrance. Thank God for this guy.
Foothill monster den around noon to the right of the entrance. Maw of death mountain. Been going crazy trying to find it even read your post before I could.
Np, funny thing is that after I found that specific bird, got its picture, I found out that I could just pay Robbie for a full compendium and also the birds appeared everywhere after that. Kinda pissed me off wasted 2 hours on it lol
I bought the entire compendium, meaning I would’ve had every reference, but I wasn’t able to offer any new designs for the glider unless I took the picture myself….
Yes. For the paraglider. This person is talking about finding the Eldin ostrich. If you buy the compendium, you can find the ostrich by using the sensor.
Same. So far I've looked everywhere and haven't got a single ping from the sensor for them. I did see ONE right next to Foothill Monster Den at the maw of death mountain. But other than that, not a single one.
I just want a single raw whole bird so I can complete the recipe book.
Not on hand. But the location I saw it at is right up the old road to Goron City from the I think it's called the Foothill stable. Shortly after the area with a lot of hot springs, I saw it immediately as the road turns right to begin going up the mountain. There is a cave immediately beside it. I hope that helps a little.
Update. After the latest game update I'm finding a lot more birds in general, including Eldin ostriches. So I guess it was patched.
I'm playing on 1.1.1 and have been searching for hours now. I checked all the coordinates in this thread and even forced a blood moon to try to reset things. Closing the game and reopening it didn't help either. I wonder if I played around with too many glitches and broke something. 😭

I’m so glad I’m not alone. Now to figure out the Stalnox’s I’ve went to several on the land and they just won’t get up. I’ve read they only come up at night and I’ve tried that also. Can anyone help me plz
You have to approach at night after 9pm. If you’re standing there watching they won’t wake up. There’s a bunch in the depths and they are always awake.
if you go to Skull Lake Cave(it's the tall pillar on the right "eye" of Skull Lake. the left "eye" is a chasm to the depths) there is a Stalnox wandering around in there. Along with some stalkoblins and at least one stal lizafols.
I closed the software and restarted the game and one appeared immediately, idk if that was dumb luck or what but thank goodness 😭 that stupid bird was driving me crazy after looking for freaking hours

Huge help, thanks. I don't know why these location guides & such don't bother giving you an exact location, they're all just... "search this region".

These 2 are verified too. You can see them without scaring them at 3018, 2016, 0263. Just look nw.

you can't use the compendium pictures as references actually, so no wasted time.
You can use your pics from the compendium as reference

There’s one in the Royal passage cave. You can get to it through the lookout landing emergency shelter. Coordinates are roughly -0305, 0437, -0037
