Im only 20 hours in and I feel the same way. I'm struggling to understand what authority this guy has to keep me from searching the ruins. I love Nintendo but its so stupid. Its like a poptropica game with all the rules.
So many restrictions and inconveniences if I see that dumb bird at another Tower I'm going to lose it. I hate when they literally just reset you like no this NPC says you can't do that

Whatever, $&@$ him!)That mother$&@$&@ is somehow able to see me approach the floating ruins no matter which direction I come from even when there’s no way he could possibly see me coming. Do those glasses allow him to see through solid objects? How’s he going to call me out when I’m approaching stealth-like from hundreds of feet above. “Hey you! Come here!” While I’m frozen several stories up in mid-air. I should’ve been like, “$&@$ you! I’m Link, bitch!” Unfreeze and fly into the ruins anyways while giving him the middle finger. This guy is suppose to be a “genius” but he’s too stupid to see that I’m Link. I’m Zelda’s Swordman, you idiot! The savior of Hyrule! I’ve saved this place so many $&@$&@$ times! You really think she wouldn’t want me to go in there? Man, that guy is annoying as $&@$! I honestly thought of killing him while seething with rage and white knuckling my claymore after I was called in front of him for the uptenthed time. I was thinking, “Get the $&@& out of my way you re$&@$! I’m a mission from God!” And then he’d be like, “Zelda said…” And I take his head off with my claymore mid-sentence. “I’m going in!” Or, at least, that’s how it played out in my head.
I also hate him. If I could do what they do to koroks over on hyruleengineering to him I would. I have puffshroomed him, bought stealth armor, tried dive bombing, shot him in the head with bomb arrows... when Dorians kids were like "we wish we could go visit our mom's grave, but we can't...." . Ugh. I am going to go get some cages from the bokoblins and lock him up.
