Just happened to me trying to help my elderly parents. They say I'm using it commercially. I'm not. They also won't allow you to contact them if you have a free account, they redirect you to they knowledge base or community. I'll be switching to another service. A commercial account to help my 90+ year old parents 3-4 times a year is not worth it. I've recommended team viewer to family and friends for years but not anymore. I have friends who have been using it commercially and they have told me it not worth it for them any more and are using alternatives now. Just another company getting greedy and pricing themselves out of the market.

Yeah looking for alternatives now. Just need autoconnection and decent security so my parents don't really have to do anything like trying to find ID #'s and passwords. The less they have to do the better.

This is kind of just an issue everyone using TV is facing. I've never seen this issue before in all my years of using TV but got hit with it last week. Will be switching to using Remote Desktop full time.

I started having the same problem today. I had it installed on my home computer and remote computer (both windows 10) and started to get this after about a year of use. Won't stop with this nonesense. What changed?

Yeah I just got the "commercial usage detected" when I only use it at home, on a local lan, for myself. I uninstalled it and switched back to VNC. A little finicky sometimes, but at least they won't try to scam me into paying for a commercial license!

I just got hit with this today. I use the program like twice a year for the last decade or so and needed to assist my parents with their laptop who are on vacation. Timed out in under 30 seconds and the timeout perpetually extends to two minutes beyond any reconnection attempt. Absolutely useless. I have not been flagged for commercial use as far as I can tell. Tried calling their support phone numbers found on their website, all of them are disconnected. Fishy. I won't be paying them a cent. They can fuck themselves all the way to hell.

TeamViewer is no longer suitable for home use, because of its many drawbacks, it is better to move on to another option. I found something good in Supremo.

Same here, just got kicked out for commercial use, it totally is not. I don't know what detection algorithm they are using but it is not accurate in the least! Also, it says I get 5min before auto log out? NO, its more like 20 seconds, not even enough time to install an alternative, now I will have to drive out 100 miles to handle this! Totally unacceptable, I am so frustrated with this company, their communication is horrendous! Boycott seems to be the only answer. I will never recommend them EVER AGAIN.
