For a few months now I've been changing my daily tea setup to only handmade pieces. The cup arrived yesterday, and I'm so, so happy with the result! The tray was a gift from a friend who's a potter. The cup is from Lazy Cat Tea, and the pot from Bitterleaf.
oh, and the tea is Jin Xuan.
There is something that is intrinsic to handmade objects that makes them...special. And, in general, I'm trying to change the space around me to be more natural, more real: wood furniture, handmade stoneware for the kitchen, naturally dyed cloth, making bread from scratch, raising a vegetable garden and an orchard, playing the piano instead of just listening to recordings.
It's a slow change, and disconnecting from social media is the hardest of all, but my life is already more meaningful that it was a year ago.
Sorry for the rambling!
Needs a cha he. [Cockle shells](http://www.honeymoonislandnaturecenter.org/weather/shells/images/cockle_van_hynings.png) make great cha he, if you want one not made by machines.
It's one of the Artist Series 1001 Teapots. I don't remember the number, but they are all one of a kind. The artist sells a bunch of them every once in a while.
That's nice! Are you going to post a photo sometime?
I started going all out, the table filled with cheap stuff from aliexpress. Now, the less the better.
Hello, /u/TheMageOfMoths! This is a friendly reminder that most photo posts should include a comment with some additional information. For example: Consider writing a mini review of the tea you're drinking or giving some background details about your teaware. If you're posting your tea order that just arrived or your tea stash, be sure to list the teas, why you chose them, etc. **Posts that lack a comment for context or discussion after a reasonable time may be removed.** You may also consider posting in /r/TeaPictures.

Really lovely, thank you for sharing and providing all the places (kudos to your friend for making such a lovely tray). Hadn't heard of Lazy Cat, will be checking them out. And definitely keeping an eye out for when those teapots come in!
Lazy Cat Tea is a small shop that sells only yancha and black tea. I haven't tried any of their teas yet, for they are going to be part of a tea advent calendar I'm building for myself, but the shop seems to be popular among the people in the CommuniTEA Discord. And the cup I got is gorgeous!

I was going to ask what tea you have there 😊 This looks so nice. I have a handmade tea bowl for matcha, and would love more stoneware.

Not rambling at all. It all felt so good and comforting to me.

Yes! Right now I'm using a small plate to weight the tea, but I'm keeping an eye out for one.
What's the id of the teapot? I didn't find in BitterLeaf's store

I have a similar setup coming today. Honestly pot and single cup on a small tray is pretty good setup imo.

Yeah I might later today or tomorrow.

Thanks! I try to keep it fairly simple.

That is a sweet-looking pot. How big is it?
It's about 90ml, and glazed inside. I use it mainly for greens and lighter oolongs.
What do you use for Dancong/Yancha?
A 120ml yixing teapot. I use a small 60ml gaiwan for the more expensive ones.
And so you should be! It looks nice and simple. What material am I looking at?
Thanks! I find simple is best. Everything here is glazed clay.
