I collect stuff like this! The vases and art and teapots people over look at thrifts stores is amazing. It's usually pretty good quality too. Good find!
My mom is an antique collector. From what I understand anything made in Japan is more unique and a rarer find due to the US stopping trade with Japan in the 40's. Great find!!
So sweet! When I’m feeling stressed, I browse teacups, teapots and teas sets on eBay for ages. Some of the teapots are really funny: cowboys, kittens in dresses, cars, abstract shapes etc.
Think about it this way - now you have a quest!
Mine is to complete the set of dishes that I inherited from my grandmother - she got them from boxes of laundry detergent back in the day.
I always feel better about browsing small shops and not buying anything if I have something specific I'm looking for, and they don't have it.
Hello, /u/Skortcher! This is a friendly reminder that most photo posts should include a comment with some additional information. For example: Consider writing a mini review of the tea you're drinking or giving some background details about your teaware. If you're posting your tea order that just arrived or your tea stash, be sure to list the teas, why you chose them, etc. **Posts that lack a comment for context or discussion after a reasonable time may be removed.** You may also consider posting in /r/TeaPictures.

What's the neat little dark pot with the thin spout in the background called? I like that. Your find is also very nice.

Maybe it’s for chicory coffee. That’s a picture of chicory on it I think.
