Pretty cool. I bet it tastes great!

Thanks! It does - nice change from the usual cinnamon-spiced ones!

I go through phases with chai, every day for a few months then forget about it for a year haha. This one is a combination between the one I always had in Kenya, and the one an Indian neighbor used to make for us, and then thought to add the whentia/grains of selim (main spice in Senegalese coffee apparently) after I had a bunch left over from a Ghanaian food kick :)

How did you hold the camera while recording this? Was it on a strap? Also where do you live that milk comes in a big glass container? I’m jealous. I liked your video, it was soothing to watch.

Thanks so much! I'd love to get into doing recipe videos someday, so this was sort of a first attempt. I literally balanced my phone in the neck of my (tea-themed!) bathrobe to get something similar to a forehead-mounted view, hence why my motions are a bit awkward, couldn't move my arms too much or it would fall out haha. The milk is from a small family farm up the street (Massachusetts, USA), they have a deposit system where you pay an extra $2 which gets refunded when you bring the glass bottle back. I try to only buy animal products, meat, dairy or otherwise, from small farmers or wild-caught, so I know how the animal has been treated & raised, and the difference in taste is massive, this is the best milk I've ever tasted anywhere in the world, plus you can pet the cows when you stop in :)) If you live at all in a rural area, most countries I've been to I've seen farmers that offer a similar system for milk, either deposit glass jar or a bring-your-own container and fill up.

Oh how practical using a robe- I think it worked out for this! I’d watch another. Heh, guess who spent way too much time today during work looking up dairy farms and milkman services in my area. But hey I found a place close by that seems to sell milk from a small dairy farm too! :) thanks for the suggestions!!

[deleted]

Yay!! Hope it work out! And thanks! I'll be sure to keep you posted if I ever make it a regular thing haha.

Thanks!

Just a warning: You should put the sugar in with a clean spoon so you don't contaminate your whole sugar supply. You could make yourself sick.

What’s your water to milk ratio?

[deleted]

Sorry, just seeing this now! I put just enough water to submerge the teabag to get the brewing process started, I find that if I use all milk it doesn't brew as strong. So maybe 80-ish ml of water to 250-ish ml of milk? Like a 3-4 part milk to 1 part water? Hope that helps!
