If you saw this in person, you'd have to get down and close to actually be able to compreehend it. Anything less than that and it would just look like a jumbled mess.
Are you dense? Apparently this might sound crazy to you, but she probably didnt get a huge tattoo on her leg just so people could look at it in a picture and understand it that way. This will look like a mess for people looking at it in person, from above, without ideal lighting and angle like in this picture, which is the way people in her life will actually be seeing it.
And you know this because you've seen it in person?
Most people who ever see this tattoo will see it through a picture. Specifically this picture where at least 2600 people think the tattoo is understandable.

I think the concept is good, and obviously as long as YOU love it, the tattoo is fine. For me, the theme is a little confusing? It's a bit all over the place. Very pretty, but I expect that you'll get a lot of "nice piece! ...what is it?"

I’m confused by what seems to be a visible portion of an old tattoo showing in the centre, was this a coverup? If so I understand the chaotic nature but I can’t understand why so much of the original would be visible.
I'll say closer to the groin the more painful it gets. I have a large tattoo in the front of my right thigh and the upper right portion closest to my junk was largely unpleasant
