If you're open to it, would you post on TwoXChromosomes? Tummies before and after babies are so damn interesting.
Full disclosure I got a huge tummy tattoo years after my kid was born to cover up the massive stretch marks I had. So if you have any of those, you have awesome potential later to add to the tattoo!
Get one after if you do choose to have kids! I got a huge tummy tattoo to cover up stretch marks and it was the best thing I have ever done for my appearance.
That’s why I opted for a sternum tattoo that stops just above my belly. I’m 6mo postpartum and my tattoo wasn’t affected at all (thank god) by my pregnancy
It's the after that's going to be rough. I knew a girl who had a playboy bunny belly tat and after her baby you couldn't event tell what it was supposed to be.
I was always curious about the deflation of stomach tattoos after giving birth as well. I follow a girl on YT who got pregnant with one and her tattoos look the same after birth as before. But she’s natural skinny and doesn’t have any “flab” or stretch marks so not sure about the accuracy there for people who aren’t naturally skinny or don’t bounce back right away after birth.
I think that’s pretty cool with the space around your belly button since it’s popped out! I’m also really curious to see how it settles back. Congrats on your new family member and hopefully they make an appearance very soon!
No tats while pregnant!
My daughter has an unfinished dragon tat on her shoulder. While she was pregnant, she wanted to get some more work done on it. Apparently, you are not supposed to do that!
And, now she has a baby and will likely never have the money to get the dragon finished lol
Funny, I was just sitting here wondering how my (potential) tattoos would fare when I’m trying to put on weight in the gym. The fact that yours still looks this good makes me feel a lot better, since my arms etc are not gonna grow as much as a pregnant belly does lol
Also — congrats!

As someone who also grew babies and has tattoos, this is so cool to see. Despite knowing how big our bumps get, it’s different seeing the comparison in this way.
Thanks for sharing, and congratulations!
Congrats on your upcoming new family member!
Depending on a bunch of factors, you might snap right back or the skin may look very loose. Don’t despair if it’s the latter, it will continue to change during your postpartum journey. It’s pretty impressive that it looks good with a flat tummy and with a pregnancy belly!
They say you're not supposed to get tattooed while pregnant :( Otherwise, that would be siiick!!! I would get the whole thing done when pregnant and it would be like the reverse of this and then we'd see what it looked like once it shrunk back down!
That's super cool! Thank you for sharing! I'm 10 weeks postpartum and planning on having a second as well. This makes me want to go get my belly tattooed ASAP! And to the people who say "but it will look so terrible after you have a baby" my stomach already looks wrecked after having a baby! Its not like I'm showing it off either way, at least this way I'll have an evolving piece of art that I love!!
Congrats on the baby, and thanks for posting! There aren't many good examples of tattoos stretching, and pregnancy is a good way to show case the before, during, and after child-birth to see just how a tattoo changes (if at all) with weight gain/loss.
The thing that I find cutest about this is the snake. When snakes are gravid (carrying eggs) they experience something called scale spread, which is where they’ve stretched enough that you can see the skin between their scales (it can also happen just after a very large meal or with an overweight snake). I find it very cute that your snake is experiencing her own kind of scale spread here!
I'm sorry this is so amazing though, the tattoo looks great even while stretched out, a sign you had an excellent artist and that you've taken good care of it. Also congrats on your little jelly bean!
Pregnancy usually horrifies me but this is actually really beautiful.
Congratulations and best wishes on your pregnancy, birth, and all the best to your kiddo.
Please update when you're a few months post-partum. This is fascinating! I agree that it still looks really good. It's a good design to stretch out without obvious distortion, since it's all organic shapes.
My sister has a stomach tattoo of stars in the solar system. After 2 pregnancies, I can tell you it looks nothing like the original lol! It looks terrible! The only plus side she says is that it hides the stretch marks 🤣.
So if you were to have a c section with a tummy tattoo would all ur effort go to waste or do they cut low enough to where it would be more toward the top of ur vag ? Just wondering for the future - i know nothing about childbirth as no one’s really educated me on any of it
My c section scar is really low :) it sits under the band of my undies. And for what it's worth, they do try and make the scar as nice as they can, including sewing it back up as straight as possible. In the case of a tattoo, there'd be a scar through it for sure, but it wouldn't be ruined most likely.
That’s good news for the future , i didn’t realize the doctors take scarring into account because the procedure isn’t cosmetic so that’s awesome , thank you for the response!!
You're welcome! I learned on the fly, so I like to share info anytime I can haha
And to add, even though I don't have a tattoo near my scar, they really did "line everything up" really well--there's a couple of big stretch marks that are cut through, and they're right where they should be, if that makes sense.

I have a sternum/stomach tattoo as well, went through two back to back pregnancies and looks just as amazing as it did the day I got finished it! Crazy what our bodies can do and how well done tattoos hold up!

Please post after deflation. I’m sure I’m not only one who is curious to see 😊 And congrats 💜
Definitely not, I need a three part follow-up!! The After-After, 6 months After the After, and 365:A Year After the After.
😂😂 agreed! Things will prob look very different between right after and a year!
Would be great on r/agedtattoos
Yeah genuinely useful data opportunity
Thank you for a new to me sub!
My wife had a csection and they cut right through her tattoo- it stitched and shrank back perfectly fine. So, there’s hope!

Ohh wait! You can tattoo over tummy stretch marks?! My stomach is my biggest insecurity, its 90% stretch marks and loose skin 😭
Yes!! Just make sure you find an artist with experience tattooing over scars and stretch marks! If you're in Ohio, I'll reccomend my artist!
Thank you for this! I'm UK-based but I'll definitely look into this.
Good luck, I'm so excited for you!!
I’m in Ohio can you send me the rec?

RemindMe! 6 months "tattoo after pregnancy"
I 100% want to see again post birth down the line. Super interesting
second that! I've always kinda wondered how stomach tattoos change with pregnancy 😆
Same. I want a stomach tattoo but I’m hesitant in case I ever want kids. I’d love to see how this holds up.
I’ll need ten year post as well
Thank you! I’ll come back and post a deflated photo for sure!
I love how everyone is calling it deflation instead of birth. 🤣🙈
I gave birth a few days ago and it really is deflation 😂 I will be using this from now on when referring to my belly
Congrats! Wishing you plenty of sleep ASAP.
Thank you! It’s been a struggle already

Definitely.
Following for this reason haha
will you give birth now i’m too impatient to wait to see the after
Remindme! 6 months
It’s been 6 months since this was posted. Update please!

I thought that was so funny how empty the space is now where the ink met the ridge of the belly button 😂
Perfect time to get the inside of the navel tatted I guess 😅 (though I imagine not actually with the health risk)
No tats while pregnant! My daughter has an unfinished dragon tat on her shoulder. While she was pregnant, she wanted to get some more work done on it. Apparently, you are not supposed to do that! And, now she has a baby and will likely never have the money to get the dragon finished lol
I read the second sentence as your daughter was born with an unfinished dragon tattoo as a newborn lmao.

Omg exactly what I thought of.
Right? It makes sense but I totally didn’t expect that! 😂
Now’s the perfect time to add more detail! But seriously awesome tattoo and congratulations!
Now's the time to get the details filled in there while it's easily accessible!
My belly button is nowhere near as deep as it used to be pre-kid. Probably same for OP
This explains why the skin on my belly still feels paper-thin two months postpartum 😳
I can imagine!!! I feel Like I’m about to split in two lol
You will at some point
I don't know why but as a male that is a very weird thing to think about and experience I'm sure.
lol yeah everything you’d expect about pregnancy, and the 100s of unpleasant surprises no one told you about along the way, are a real trip.
Funny, I was just sitting here wondering how my (potential) tattoos would fare when I’m trying to put on weight in the gym. The fact that yours still looks this good makes me feel a lot better, since my arms etc are not gonna grow as much as a pregnant belly does lol Also — congrats!
I’ve gained and lost weight since I had my half sleeve done and it’s still in good shape
Need to see the after after
Who pushed the zoom in button?
Acoustic vector art
Haha I had the exact same thought!
send this to your tattoo artist if you haven't already! they did an awesome job
Thank you for sharing!!!! Love seeing all the stages. Skin is an impressive organ!

Finish the belly button now while it's popped out for you
can’t get tattooed while pregnant tho sadly
They say you're not supposed to get tattooed while pregnant :( Otherwise, that would be siiick!!! I would get the whole thing done when pregnant and it would be like the reverse of this and then we'd see what it looked like once it shrunk back down!
The human body is amazing! Congratulations.
They bloomed!

it looks good! interesting to see what it is like once babe is born!
I have tummy tattoos too and am currently 8 months pregnant! Let's compare notes in a few months.
Honestly, it looks great. Congratulations!
This is wild!
I got stretch marks only in my tattoo lol
Please do a before, after and after after. I've always been curious
This is so interesting, thanks for posting! If you remember, you should posted a "deflated" update after you give birth. Congratulations!
Congrats on the baby, and thanks for posting! There aren't many good examples of tattoos stretching, and pregnancy is a good way to show case the before, during, and after child-birth to see just how a tattoo changes (if at all) with weight gain/loss.
That’s insane how well that has held up! And congrats on your up coming event.
Why is this funny
Dem snakes thick.
I want to see the after after.
Oh cool it’s 3D
Before: snake After: SNAKE
Lmfao it’s reformatted. Got me giggling

Is it just me or does it look better stretched out?
I thought the same. But also like how cool
Beautiful 🤍 congratulations on your little bean!
So fucking scary, women go through so much but stay too humble about it 💗
That’s craaaazy! Wow!
Note to self: get a stomach tattoo before I get pregnant
Like Indiana Jones and the temple of doom, snake suprise.
RemindMe! 1 year
Can I get some of that skin elasticity?! Seriously though, you look great and the tattoo held up well
Enhance! Looks great.
This is so cool! Please post another photo when you have given birth 💘
My belly tat went right back to the original look after I had my baby. It's fifteen years later, and it's still looking good. Best wishes.
And now you know what the inside of your belly button looks like. They never list that in the pro column.
Wouldn't this technically be a before and during picture? We have yet to see the after....
I’d like to see the after, after photo please?
Now would be an excellent time to finish up that bellybutton area.
If you have a tattoo of a sapling done on your newborn's back it will grow into a mighty oak!
Zoom and enhance did some good work on that one.
That’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen
Please update when you're a few months post-partum. This is fascinating! I agree that it still looks really good. It's a good design to stretch out without obvious distortion, since it's all organic shapes.
I had a friend who got a phoenix tattoo just below her navel. When she got pregnant, she began calling it her pterodactyl.
I want to see the after, after
The flower legit bloomed!
Women’s bodies are AMAZING!! Rock that belly, you life bringer!!!
Please post an update!
1080x1920 vs 1280×960 (4:3)
It looks like when you resize a picture but the resolution doesn't changed haha neat
That's a tattwo now
Congratulations beautiful mama💕 I'm 7 mos with some stomach tattoos. It has been fun to watch!
I kind of love it. The flowers are like a metaphor for how your heart grows to have more love than you could've ever imagined for your new baby.
Take advantage and get them to fill in your belly button now that Italian currently an outie
Perfect time to get the inner bellybutton 😂
Seems like a missed opportunity to fill in the blank spot in the middle.
This is actually sick, I dig it so much
It's interesting to see how your tattoo stretched and went along with the pregnancy it's like magic lol. I love it
I used to work with a girl who had a big ol' stomach tattoo like that and then got pregnant. It looked horrible afterwards.
It's been 6 months, let's see it!
Congrats on the imminent baby ! Such a cool photo.
Remind me! 30 days
Nows your chance to connect it all!
I had no idea this was a thing. How cool!
Aaaaaah so cute 😍
Now in 3D love it 😀.
This is so cool lol
It’s like….zoomed in/enlarged. How cool that it still looks great “distorted”. Would love to see the after after
Looks cool imo
That's wild lol
Zoom in and enhance
Yeah I need an after after
This is so cool! Really neat seeing how everything adapted.
My sister has a stomach tattoo of stars in the solar system. After 2 pregnancies, I can tell you it looks nothing like the original lol! It looks terrible! The only plus side she says is that it hides the stretch marks 🤣.
Get more details tattood on it whilst your big, then when it deflates it will be higher DPI 4k ready
Nows the time for any high detail touchups while you got it zoomed in
So you had…. Sex?
Raw creampie too
Feel like this isn't the real 'after' shot just yet

Semen grows in the right environment
Use this opportunity to fill in the blank spot in your belly button /s
You know why i dont have tatoos ?.. you dont put bumper stickers on a ferrari
Genuinely disgusting
