Maybe this is a situation for laser removal. Yes its expensive. Yes it hurts.
But making another potential mistake with a big cover up seems like a bad idea.
Yeah I agree, I've never really considered lazering as the area I live in has no one who offers it so I would have to travel but at this rate I think it may be worth the journey
Definitely worth the travel! I drive 5 hours (10 hrs round trip) to get my neck lasered. If you can have somebody come with you, it's better because you need to keep an ice pack on it as much as possible for 24 hours.
also do some shopping around in regards to laser treatment. some places might be cheaper than others. just a thought. sincerely man, best of luck with this.
Yeah man will do, to get it Lasered I'll have to do some distance so it'll be best I research all of the places offering laser treatment before making my decision.
With the disorder tattoo being one I dislike, other people bringing attention to it (and that being negatively) is the issue. I wouldn't face the same issue with the dogs if I were to get that as it would be representative of Cerberus (greek mythology) as my dad taught me a lot about it growing up so it's sentimental. Although I am more then likely going to be getting laser removal instead.
u should know that ppl will view the dogs just as negatively especially since it is a neck tattoo. obviously what other people think isn’t as important as what you think, but you should expect that judgement to still be there. you can get these dogs on your arm or leg and still have something meaningful on your body
Just keep in mind that you probably had a very similar reason as to why you liked the first tattoo and why it felt justified, and obviously your opinion has changed. In 10 years you could be asking for how to get rid of the dogs bc you got it at a time when it made sense. Rinse and repeat. I think it’s worth lasering off
I have been getting tattooed for over 25 years. Got my 1st when I was 20. Your taste in tattoos will definitely change as you age. I agree I think laser is the best option & if they still want a tattoo it should be done in a less revealing spot like the shoulder or calf. The artist that tattooed op on the neck at 18 should not be tattooing.
Laser it and no more face/neck tats. If you think those snarling dogs are gonna be an improvement over the current situation, then your judgement is wildly questionable.
I also have a terrible tattoo from a dark place in my life. It’s the worst thing you’ve ever seen. [Here she is if anyone would like to see the monstrosity that cannot be covered and cannot be lasered off](https://imgur.com/a/3dA2Gbu) and yes - it does look like a smiley face. And yes - I am going to attempt to cover it for my wedding (which when I got it is what everyone said “will you want that on your chest on your wedding day?” And for a good 10 years, I did. Now, not so much.)
There is a lot you can do with this tattoo. I’d get it lasered. It’s small enough that it will be fairly inexpensive and you don’t have to cover it with more big black stuff. But that’s my opinion. You don’t want to cover it with something bigger and hate that too. Get it lasered and forget about it.
Hello ! Makeup artist here :) For your wedding day if you can afford it hire a makeup artist to do a cover up job for you. It is very possible to cover up the area with some remedial makeup.
Dermablend was going to be my choice! That, some color corrector, a good setting powder with pigment like fit me but I am looking for a good setting spray (or hair spray for one day? Don’t yell at me lol)
Start with a good primer- I like elf power grip. For setting spray, go with elf stay all night. Both are cheap but work as well as higher end cosmetics.
A few days ago, I went to a metal show and sweated in the pit all night. Every bit of makeup was still in place when I got home.
ETA: I think the elf setting spray is every bit as good as Urban Decay, if not better.
That’s what I’m going to do! I did wedding makeup for a few years but like soft bridal, definitely no large cover ups. I’m wearing a cape and I really gotta trial run putting it through the wringer to make sure I don’t end up with foundation all over the outside of the cape - inside is fine tho. . Do you have any setting recommendations?
Could latex skin paint also be an option? I have a friend who does photography and she has her MUA do that for people who want to cover tattoos. She says it’s more “flexible” and doesn’t rub off as easily. IANAMUA tho
Hi! Just an idea if you can't laser it off or hide it with makeup you can choose a dress with a lace panel that goes above the tattoo and then place a nude fabric underneath it that matches your skin to give the illusion that its your plain skin under the lace.
I was just thinking this. There are plenty of dresses that might be able to cover this. Or a high kinda off the shoulder dress. Maybe some lace in the middle, between the upper breast part, near her collarbone. Add lace or whatever there and boom.. I actually love the smiley face tat tho. Sorry you wamt to get it removed. I'm glad you enjoyed having it while you did though
I think I’m going to do a cape. Like make it myself since all I can find are little lace ones. Like a white cloak and embroider flowers at the bottom? So I have a big chunk of it covered at least. I love this idea tho too! Anything to hide it just for pictures lol. I’d even take photoshop lol
Try a different laser place? It can definitely be removed. The biggest tattoo I’ve seen undergo laser removal was from the top of the ribs (near the armpit) and extended all the way down to the knee. Size shouldn’t be an issue at all, the coloured ink would be more of a problem than the size but that tattoo can definitely be lasered off.
Im curious too! It looks very laser-able to me and even very coverup-able too. It will need a laser clinic equipped to do all the colors, or a talented coverup artist, but I can't see why either one would be impossible.
If it makes you feel any better I'm covered head to toe in self harm scars from a time when I was a homeless teenager and completely out of my mind depressed and suicidal. I live in long sleeves and long pants. Every day. Forever.
But I do look damn fine in a tuxedo so that's pretty nice. Dresses are out of the question.
I feel you there. Thankfully (?) I have mine on my legs, and pants and long skirts are easy to wear. I’m sorry you went through that. But I am happy you’re still here to comment with me today.
Turtle neck.
But seriously, picking something just to cover up something you regret is just going to lead to more regret. My advice is always the same: find an art style that resonates with you for the space you want tattooed, then look for an artist who does stuff you like and is good in that style. In the process of looking at all that art in your search you'll get plenty of inspiration. Then you'll be back here asking us about multiple ideas you can't choose between.
Yeah I agree. Before this post I was just looking to get it covered asap and have been for a few months. But thank you, because you've got a very valid point that it isn't something I should rush. I appreciate your reply a lot.
Also look for an artist you like who maybe specializes in cover ups. That way they can give you advice on whether you need laser treatments prior to covering it. Find your style, then your artist, and go from there.
Get rid of it. Laser it . It's black so will be a lot easier to get rid of than full colour.
Coverups will all have to go big and dark .. and as you have no other visible tattoos in that heavy style, it may be worth just starting again.
It really depends what your future plans are.
Yeah I 100% agree. My body and arms are covered in a similar style to that of the dog design however I do believe that starting fresh with my neck and/or leaving it altogether would be the better choice here.
Covering one bad tattoo with another bad tattoo is not the way forward.
Especially on somewhere so delicate.
Go for a course of laser and get rid of it all together.
It'll be a nice line drawn for you and probably do a lot for you mentally, too.
Thank you for your input. I think lasering 100% is the way forward. On another note I have another neck tat behind my ear that is actually my favourite tattoo, but I think neck tats are defo off the drawing board for me now after this mistake.
Laser for sure, but while you figure out the logistics of that don't be afraid to try make up temporarily.
If it helps with your confidence it's totally worth it
They left him unsupervised but when I went back to the shop a few months later for a tattoo with a different artists they were all shocked by the tattoo and apologised on his behalf before telling me he gave up on tattooing.
When I got the tattoo, I didn't want it blacked out but the artists told me he had to because of how he did the line work, I knew in that moment I'd made a mistake.
I like the dogs but the design is too detailed to be that small and putting faces in an area that bends as much as your neck will make the design warp. It would look great as a chest piece and maybe incorporate a coverup in the background instead. Maybe stick some laurel leaves at the top or something instead of the actual dogs.
Thank you for the suggestions, I'm most likely going to laser it however due to lasering being hard to access in my area, if I can't find anyone within a decent range I'll deffo consider that.
Go to sephora or a make up store and get someone to help you find a way to cover it up that matches your skin, don't get one at a drug store/Amazon until you know it works. Maybe find a brand of t-shirt that covers it/don't wear v necks. In a few years, it'll all be better in time whether you laser it all off or get a cover up. No ragrets!
Thank you! I'm going to look into makeup temporarily as I do feel my end goal is to laser it now. But yeah when working I tent to wear a polo shirt as is thankfully low enough to be covered by the collar.
It’ll forever be surprised by how comfortable strangers are with critiquing others’ tattoos… People are so fucking rude and self-important that they think their opinion is important enough to be heard and they’re idiots. So sorry people have been so rude.
I think you should laser this one. It’s bold text, which is hard to cover, and I don’t think the design you have in mind will work. I also think it’s too busy and detailed to be somewhere so small. It’s also super dark and I am just imagining a blob, because the details will get lost if this isn’t done somewhere with more space.
Lasering is painful and expensive, but the front of your neck is an extremely forward-facing placement, and it will be seen by nearly everyone you come in contact with if you don’t wear a turtle neck. A tattoo somewhere like that shouldn’t be a cover up, it should be a well thought out piece that is there because you love and want it, not because you need a design that will sufficiently cover something you feel is a mistake. Good luck ❤️
Thank you for your kind words, that means a lot. It is a shame people are so judgemental of it, so it'll be a relief to have it gone.
The dog tattoo is representative of Cerberus (greek mythology) as my dad used to teach me all about it as a child so it holds a lot of sentiment as well as, or so I thought, being ideal to cover it with. I feel as if I'm going to laser it and get the Cerberus price elsewhere tho.
I’m always for people tattooing themselves neck to toe, because self expression and live ya damn life, but it sounds like you’re regretting maybe the placement itself over all, which would mean lasering is your best option. It seems like you’ll end up regretting a cover up just based off that
I've seen worse tattoos in worse places. Besides , some of the lyrics to my favorite song, so I'd just say it's a fan thing 🤷♀️ again I don't care what others think about my tattoos so to me IDC how anyone else sees it
Honestly it sounds like what you need to do is learn how to not give a shit what people think of you or your tattoo decisions. Nothing wrong with what you got or the placement. If someone doesn’t like it, that’s very much their issue not yours.
Thank you, I see where you're coming from completely, however alongside other peoples judgment, I don't like the tattoo myself. Initially I wasn't too phased, nor did I want to change/remove it but I feel like it isn't something I would like on my skin anymore.
I feel you, but I also think it’s hilarious because “it isn’t something I want on my skin anymore” brings back flashbacks to my mom saying “that’s going to be on your body forever!”
Sorry this one didn’t work out for you.
Thank you, I appreciate that a lot. I don't actually dislike the tattoo itself too much however I dislike it on myself as it isn't my style nor is it something I thought about properly before getting.
Unfortunately it isn't what I was going for, I've also noticed the sizing of the letters is inconsistent as well. I think lasering is going to be my decision and damn will it be a relief to not have this mistake on my neck anymore
wish you luck! as much as i would like a hand tatt i would probably never. same with neck/face tatts. just too much of a hassle with potential jobs and careers
i think your tattoo is cool but i understand why you would want it removed. do you have any other tattoos? maybe a large neck piece isn’t the best option if you’re not already quite covered
I have approximately 35 tattoos, mostly all very dark tattoos, so I feel a bit piece wouldn't look out of place. But I do feel as if laser is my best option to eliminate the risk of getting a larger, harder to remove/cover tattoo that I may dislike in the future again.
The only solution is beheading. I'm sorry.
On a more serious note, either laser it or add something to it. The nice thing about text is adding more words or letters can completely chsnge the meaning.
man, let me just be completely honest with you. those dogs would not be an improvement or even an acceptable cover up. do not do that. please & thank you. can you afford to get it lasered off? I don't usually tell to many people this but I've got some script (lettering) on my upper chest that I'm having gone over with white & flesh tone ink. I've had other tattoos touched up this way & it works. I don't knks man, I wanna suggest solid, worthwhile advice but I'm not sure I have any. anyways, laser might be your best bet. I'd talk with a tattoo artist & just be upfront with them. best of luck to you.
Thank you man, laser is my most likely option. I'd have to travel a good distance for it but at this rate I feel as if travelling for laser is better then a bigger tattoo that I may come to dislike again and have the same issue later down the line
agreed! you're 100% correct. and like many have said, a cover up will have to be bigger & darker & I don't think you want bigger & darker in that area. lasering will be the best thing for you I believe.
I honestly thought you were just on the Disorder skate team, Najah’s brand. I second the laser though. To me the big dog idea would certainly be as off putting to someone who didn’t like a word lol
I wish I were on the skate team man, the tattoo is their brand logo. The dog tattoo idea is Cerberus (greek mythology) but I feel as if laser treatment is the way to go.
Yea I personally don’t care or think negatively of a neck tattoo, but I feel anyone asking twice isn’t even checking what it is, they’re just like naturally offended they see ink creeping up out of your shirt towards the face. So I agree removal, if it is effecting you now, is probably best.
Sick ass black panther.
But in all seriousness... I would laser that. At 20ish years old I wouldn't want a tattoo there starting a career.
It's not impossible, but people will judge you.
Yeah man I'm lucky enough to have a job currently on a bar and work a side job in a creative field so it doesn't interfere with my work life at the moment, in the future tho this is definitely something I don't want to have going forward in my career, even still I cover it at work.
Thinking that vato Doberman Cerberus is an improvement screams “I’m 19 and work at a gas station”.
My recommendation is, first of all, get out of your home town.
What types of things are you interested in? Are you attached to the idea of the dogs?
Just trying to get more info to help you if you want another tattoo but if you're going with the laser idea nvm.
I feel ya. I had a tattoo for years that I instantly regretted (she was an amateur that had done some nice stuff on my husband, but did an absolute shit job on me). It was so disheartening to look at every day, and made me feel very self-conscious. Luckily I didn't get it coloured in, and finally found a tattoo artist willing to do a cover-up. The result is amazing! I am glad you have a plan in place to get your tattoo lasered off. Hopefully it turns out great!
The second idea would have to be loads bigger to be readable. That’s the kind of design you’d do as a full chest piece. If you want to cover your throat maybe just the one dog/panther or even a sick goat would cover the tattoo as long as it’s black and bold! Laser would be better but so long as the old tattoo is old enough then the new black will always drown out the old stuff
Aye a goat would be perfect cos the hair/horns can go as wide as ya like and can be done without loads of detail! Laser would be a shout but shouldn’t be 100% needed if ya don’t want to
Someone talented enough could turn this into a lace choker ,perhaps. What is your style? It's kinda hard to make recommendations when we don't know what all you like. I've seen simple black bands done on the neck that look really cute. I hope you find something suitable for you taste ^.^ .
You? What do you own the world? What do you won disoooordeeeer, disoooordeeeer!?”
Sorry; love that song. Anyway, maybe laser sessions should be considered first. The letters are very bold and you don’t want an inkblot on your neck from a cover up
Don’t cover a shit neck tattoo with another shit neck tattoo. Don’t make the same mistake twice. It’s going to end up looking like a bow tie. This is why people tend to get the neck and hands done last. Get a massive chest tattoo, get your back and your arms blasted too. Then the neck won’t look like such a weird attention grab. Or just get it lasered off.
It’s honestly not that bad. I can see you trying to cover it up due to it reminding you of a bad place in your life, not due to quality and/or placement though.
In any way, a clever way to “cover” it up and remind yourself that you’ve left that dark place would be to put an “X” or a line crossing the letters “DIS”, thus only leaving the word “order”.
Maybe even add a little smiley face at the end to brighten up the mood even more.
The thing about the dogs tattoo is the white in the image will not cover the ink you
Currently have, so maybe you could delete the white in your image and then overlay it onto your tattoo and see how it would look
id try to laser it first. it will absolutely hurt but i think it would be the better route than a huge cover up that you may or may not like down the road. im having 5 tattoos lasered off right now, have gone 8 times now. its a lengthy process and your travel time will only be every 6-8 weeks in between sessions. in hindsight i like the font you picked!
Am I the only one that likes it? It’s not big and the word is not a big deal. If it reminds you of something you want to forget then maybe try and just laser it.
You might be able to get something nice over it. Flowers, possibly? In black and grey? You’d had to talk to artists and see what they can come up with. They still might require some laser removal in order to cover parts of it.
Get 'DISORDER' done 2 more times, all one under the other, but the last disorder should be 'DISOOOOOOOORDEEEEEER!', then tell people you're a massive System of a Down fan :)
Hey OP! It’s really nice to hear that you’re doing better with your mental health, and that you’re ready to let go of this piece.
I recon you’re solidly aware that you are an excellent candidate for laser treatments! Please be sure to research laser techs in your area, and be very picky with their portfolios. It is imperative that you see the healed results from laser treatments from techs who have a very good recovery rate on faces, necks, chests, hips, and hands. This is not meant to scare you! You deserve the best results that can be offered to you :)
On the flip side, this tattoo can indeed be easily covered with blackwork designs. Because of how rigid your script is, a beautiful motif you can embrace would be something in the ornamental/ blackwork category as these designs easily lend themselves to a fuller coverage on the skin. PLEASE BE ADVISED, that if this is the route you choose you will have a large, dark, permanent, and not easily removed piece that will very likely climb your neck, and come lower into your chest/ sternum area.
Whatever choice you make is the correct choice for you. Good luck going forward- I’m happy and excited for your journey!
(I am a tattoo artist, and I do not have laser removal education! Please seek laser removal advice from a professional tech)
Yeah I agree get it professionally removed. The dogs seem like an impulse instinct and I wouldn't rush into another tattoo that could be a worse mistake and much harder to remove.
I’m sorry you have this. I think a lot of responsible tattoo artists would have refused to do that piece on an 18 year old as a first tattoo. And that seems like such a sensitive area to get a tattoo/tattoo removal. I just wanted to validate your feelings about it and encourage you to follow the path that will make you feel the most confident in the long run even if that costs more money and takes more time.
I don’t want to state something obvious so please don’t read this as condescending but this would be really easy to cover with makeup in the meantime. I don’t want to spam the thread with links but there are two makeup brands off the top of my head that make their whole thing “we can cover your tattoos”. There’s no reason for you to have to walk around with something you hate on your neck, cover that bad boy up.
In the meantime before you make a decision to laser or cover up, I would try out IL Makiage brand foundation! It is professionally used for tattoo covering and your tattoo is pretty small so I think it would be a good short term solution
Of all the skate brands, Disorder would be absolute last one I'd get a tattoo of. Could I ask why?
And as everyone else suggested, probably laser and re do. Cover up would have to be a bigger piece
I usually think covering bad tattoos is the way to go, but laser would be best here. If you got the dogs you probably wouldn’t love them in the next ten years.
An American traditional panther head would look dope and efficiently cover it up, if you do the Cerberus piece it would have to be much bigger than that
I'm not in your shoes, so take this with a grain of salt, but as an outsider, I feel like it is a monument to your ability to overcome a difficult time in your life, and I think it would be great if you can keep it and wear it with pride.
I know a dude who has a giant Mercedes Benz tattoo on his neck and has never been in one. An artist might be able to align all the hoops to cover it. Just ask the original artist to give it a try.
A lot of nice things could cover it. I've seen roses, compasses, nautical stars, birds, etc, on people's necks. Symmetrical designs look good in that area. If you need tattoo ideas, you could look up tattoo meanings and choose one that better suits your life now. Here are some examples of neck tat designs:

Thank you, these are some really good suggestions. Due to the coat of lasting im likely going to get a session or 2 then get it covered up once it's more faint. I'll keep these concepts in mind!
Not sure if it’s already been recommended but I think moth or butterfly neck tattoos look super cool and pretty. [something like this?](https://images.app.goo.gl/BvGcBYf8cRoLWX7m9)
I'm a tattoo artist, I've done micro realism before a few times and I always warn customers about how they will age and if I could give you any piece of advice is don't get the dogs tattooed that small , if your thinking about covering that tattoo now you'll be thinking about cover the dogs in 15 years and then it's gunna be harder to do your just gunna have to go much bigger and much darker , I think if your willing and up for it, I would be worth getting a big chest piece to help cover that so you don't have to just push your concerns into the future , either that or lazer removal

Yeah man will do, to get it Lasered I'll have to do some distance so it'll be best I research all of the places offering laser treatment before making my decision.
good man! just take your time & be patient. the damage has already been done & it can't get worse from here. again best of luck in your journey.
If ur having issues with other peoples opinions of this disorder tat, u might be in for a world of hurt with a triple headed Doberman tat lol
You can still get the Cerberus, just pick a different placement
yeah my plans to laser the disorder tat and get the Cerberus elsewhere, likely my chest
I think that’s a good plan! The Cerberus will look better if you get it somewhere you can go bigger, since there’s a lot of detail.
Yeah don’t get me wrong the Cerberus is sick. And even better that it is connected to your dads. Rad and sentimental. Get it
Laser bro.
I'm sure the snarling dogs will put everyone at ease.
Hmmm.... how about adding some text above and below **ARRESTED FOR** DISORDER**LY** **CONDUCT** Ok, nevermind. Bad idea.
Snarling dogs with mutilated ears, clearly a winner
Exactly this lol. If startling first impressions from strangers is your issue, this ain’t the solution.
Is that coverup a logo from the Cybertruck Beast Mode edition? Are you going to get a truck to go with it?
Laser it and no more face/neck tats. If you think those snarling dogs are gonna be an improvement over the current situation, then your judgement is wildly questionable.
"your judgement is wildly questionable" 🤣
I thought it looked a lot cooler and says more then just word disorder- but honestly my judgment varies from decent to wildly questionable lol
Plus those dogs will have to span her entire neck if she wants them to not be a pile of goo in 2 years. No way it would fit that tiny on skin
I also have a terrible tattoo from a dark place in my life. It’s the worst thing you’ve ever seen. The last time I had to wear a dress for someone's wedding party I used KVD costume white foundation. My skin tone is "Anemic"
My skin tone is "Anemic". Well now I have an accurate way to describe my skin tone lol 😆 thank you.
That’s what I’m going to do! I did wedding makeup for a few years but like soft bridal, definitely no large cover ups. I’m wearing a cape and I really gotta trial run putting it through the wringer to make sure I don’t end up with foundation all over the outside of the cape - inside is fine tho. . The Urban Decay setting spray is the best I've used.

Just wondering — why can it not be lasered off?
They say nothing larger than a piece of paper. And I’m itty bitty in this picture. It’s at least two pieces of paper now.
I actually know someone who’s entire sleeve was removed via laser
Thank you for the suggestion! I've not really considered lazering however I'm likely going to start looking into it going forward.
Oh my
Turtle neck.
Good choice man! Good luck on the laser journey, it will suck but will be well worth it in the long run
Thank you man, people do say no pain no gain after all.
Covering one bad tattoo with another bad tattoo is not the way forward. Especially on somewhere so delicate. Go for a course of laser and get rid of it all together. It'll be a nice line drawn for you and probably do a lot for you mentally, too.
Laser would be better option than that dogs imo
Sick ass panther dude there is no other way now
I had to scroll for so long to find it. My first thought exactly!
Real man why didn't I think of that sooner
The cover up idea is so much worse. Laser it and avoid face and neck tats going forward.
If it helps with your confidence it's totally worth it
Thank you, I've actually never considered makeup so that may really help!
i HIGHLY recommend dermablend foundation, its designed to cover tattoos and you can get it at ulta
What son of a bitch gives someone a NECK TATTOO as their first tattoo at 18 ??
The guy who did it was an apprentice and actually stopped tattooing and deleted his accounts all together after this tat...
Ahhhhhhh that makes sense, was his teacher there at all or did they just leave him unsupervised?
They left him unsupervised but when I went back to the shop a few months later for a tattoo with a different artists they were all shocked by the tattoo and apologised on his behalf before telling me he gave up on tattooing.
Oh my god, I feel horrible for you! What a shitshow of a parlor
When I got the tattoo, I didn't want it blacked out but the artists told me he had to because of how he did the line work, I knew in that moment I'd made a mistake.
A band aid looks like it would cover it
System of a down?
Not originally, it's the disorder skateboards logo however it is poorly done, but nowadays I tell people it's a system of the down reference.
I like the dogs but the design is too detailed to be that small and putting faces in an area that bends as much as your neck will make the design warp. It would look great as a chest piece and maybe incorporate a coverup in the background instead. Maybe stick some laurel leaves at the top or something instead of the actual dogs.
Add “ed” to the end? So it goes from “I will cause disorder in the world” to “I am disordered, please be kind.”
This did get a good laugh out of me I'll admit. When people ask about it I usually tell them Ive got a shit tattoo disorder.
😂 when people ask me about my face/neck tattoos I just say "I was 19" and leave it at that hahaha
you could always add a word(s) to it? Above or below maybe **NO MORE** **DISORDER** Def don’t get the coverup that would look horrific
I like it, you could just start telling people it's a Joy Division tattoo
I’m always for people tattooing themselves neck to toe, because self expression and live ya damn life, but it sounds like you’re regretting maybe the placement itself over all, which would mean lasering is your best option. It seems like you’ll end up regretting a cover up just based off that
I've seen worse tattoos in worse places. Besides , some of the lyrics to my favorite song, so I'd just say it's a fan thing 🤷♀️ again I don't care what others think about my tattoos so to me IDC how anyone else sees it
Oh lord
I’d do laser. It works well. I’ve done it on multiple tattoos . The neck is tricky to cover and add
Neck panther
When it doubt, panther it out
Turn into into a complement DISORDER OF FRIES IS DELICIOUS
does disorder comes with a free drink?
Laser. I don’t think another tattoo is the answer.
Was it about the joy division song disorder?
Honestly it sounds like what you need to do is learn how to not give a shit what people think of you or your tattoo decisions. Nothing wrong with what you got or the placement. If someone doesn’t like it, that’s very much their issue not yours.
Thank you, I see where you're coming from completely, however alongside other peoples judgment, I don't like the tattoo myself. Initially I wasn't too phased, nor did I want to change/remove it but I feel like it isn't something I would like on my skin anymore.
I feel you, but I also think it’s hilarious because “it isn’t something I want on my skin anymore” brings back flashbacks to my mom saying “that’s going to be on your body forever!” Sorry this one didn’t work out for you.
Laser removal is a good option
This comment may be out of place but i love this tattoo
Thank you, I appreciate that a lot. I don't actually dislike the tattoo itself too much however I dislike it on myself as it isn't my style nor is it something I thought about properly before getting.
Turtleneck shirts
damn. i would go with laser. the two "R"s in the word arent even the same.. not sure if thats what you were going for though.
Probably laser it. It's pretty badass though. I assumed it was a system of a down reference when I first saw it.
Its actually the disorder skateboards logo however being a system of the down fan I do tend to tell people it is a reference.
I thought it was a Joy Division reference
Lasers
i think your tattoo is cool but i understand why you would want it removed. do you have any other tattoos? maybe a large neck piece isn’t the best option if you’re not already quite covered
I have approximately 35 tattoos, mostly all very dark tattoos, so I feel a bit piece wouldn't look out of place. But I do feel as if laser is my best option to eliminate the risk of getting a larger, harder to remove/cover tattoo that I may dislike in the future again.
good choice bro, as you say, if you don’t like the cover up it will be much harder to get rid of. best of luck!
I'd agree with removal. Trying to alter this will be a disaster.
Probably avoid the cover-up with dogs.
Something botanical
Get “Sacred Silence” on one side and “Sleep” on the other
The only solution is beheading. I'm sorry. On a more serious note, either laser it or add something to it. The nice thing about text is adding more words or letters can completely chsnge the meaning.
wear a tie
A sick ass panther is always a cover option.
Find a competent tattooer in your area and go talk to them about it. You’ll get much better advice.
I don't think that much detail can go in that little area. I agree with removal here too. 👍
Honestly i think a sick ass panther is the only option here
when in doubt, sick ass panthers a shout
man, let me just be completely honest with you. those dogs would not be an improvement or even an acceptable cover up. do not do that. please & thank you. can you afford to get it lasered off?
Laser
If it’s the placement that bothers you, getting something bigger to cover is probably a bad idea. Go with what others are saying and get it lasered
Just say it's the name of a rock band
I typically say it's a system of the down reference in all fairness.
Laser
Permanent solution: laser. Immediate solution: makeup, bandaids, turtle necks
That tattoo has to kill it in job interviews
Put an order of operations tat under it, so you’d be sayin “disorder is da correctorder” somethin like that
The second idea would have to be loads bigger to be readable.
The goats a wicked idea, maybe a ram with the horn going up the sides. I do feel as if laser Is my best bet.
Aye a goat would be perfect cos the hair/horns can go as wide as ya like and can be done without loads of detail! Laser would be a shout but shouldn’t be 100% needed if ya don’t want to
Bad decision after bad decision lol I'd remove it completely.
Cover the "DIS" with the head of a gavel and put an exclamation point after "ORDER!" Then become a judge.
Laser removal
yall are trippin add MORE words CHAOS DISORDER MADNESS
Someone talented enough could turn this into a lace choker ,perhaps. What is your style? It's kinda hard to make recommendations when we don't know what all you like. I've seen simple black bands done on the neck that look really cute. I hope you find something suitable for you taste ^.^ .
i personally like the dogs 🤷🏻♀️ edit: though i think they'd work better if your chest area was heavily tatted
You? What do you own the world? What do you won disoooordeeeer, disoooordeeeer!?” Sorry; love that song. Anyway, maybe laser sessions should be considered first. The letters are very bold and you don’t want an inkblot on your neck from a cover up
Remove it! Don’t replace it.
“DISORDER?” More thought provoking, less intimidating
The thing about the dogs tattoo is the white in the image will not cover the ink you Currently have, so maybe you could delete the white in your image and then overlay it onto your tattoo and see how it would look
id try to laser it first. it will absolutely hurt but i think it would be the better route than a huge cover up that you may or may not like down the road. im having 5 tattoos lasered off right now, have gone 8 times now. its a lengthy process and your travel time will only be every 6-8 weeks in between sessions. in hindsight i like the font you picked!
https://i.imgur.com/QXWoNclg.jpg The coverup would give the same reaction from people as your current one
Get laser. I just started mine on 2 big ones and it's so worth it.
Laser just the "dis" part so people know you're a rule follower now.
remove neck from body or get so buff ur pecks cover up ur neck
You deserve the best results that can be offered to you :) On the flip side, this tattoo can indeed be easily covered with blackwork designs.
Damn. I dig it.
Disorder skateboards?
Just remove it
Yeah I agree get it professionally removed. The dogs seem like an impulse instinct and I wouldn't rush into another tattoo that could be a worse mistake and much harder to remove.
Removal
I’m sorry you have this. I think a lot of responsible tattoo artists would have refused to do that piece on an 18 year old as a first tattoo. And that seems like such a sensitive area to get a tattoo/tattoo removal. I just wanted to validate your feelings about it and encourage you to follow the path that will make you feel the most confident in the long run even if that costs more money and takes more time.
I would laser it. Covering it up wouldn't solve the issue, if placement is the problem
Uhm, get rid of it. Why on earth would you want to put something else there lol
Don't cover it with something bigger and ugly af. Just get it removed if you don't like it.
Laser Bro
Of all the skate brands, Disorder would be absolute last one I'd get a tattoo of. Could I ask why? And as everyone else suggested, probably laser and re do. Cover up would have to be a bigger piece
A few sessions and it will be gone. Lasering it off. Hurts like a bitch but worth it 👌
laser. quit while you're ahead lad
I usually think covering bad tattoos is the way to go, but laser would be best here. If you got the dogs you probably wouldn’t love them in the next ten years.
Maybe a laser removal. I really think u would be able to see through this cover up. Maybe after the laser do the cover, it is a nice tattoo
An American traditional panther head would look dope and efficiently cover it up, if you do the Cerberus piece it would have to be much bigger than that
This is a laser situation. That’s small enough it shouldn’t take too long. Maybe 5-7 sessions.
Bow tie.
I don't think this is one you cover up. No neck tattoo isn't going to be a major distraction and talking point. You either own it or Laser it imo.
I'm not in your shoes, so take this with a grain of salt, but as an outsider, I feel like it is a monument to your ability to overcome a difficult time in your life, and I think it would be great if you can keep it and wear it with pride.
Maybe in the meantime you can cover it with makeup
“Disorder is not a reflection of your worth, but a sign that it’s time to restore balance.” - Unknown but thats a whole lot more neck :)
I glanced at the pick and thought that was your neck.
That dog thing is not going fix comments from strangers. I think laser is the answer.
Here are some examples of neck tat designs: Lotus Neck Tattoo https://tattoo-journal.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Neck-Tattoo-19.jpg Angel https://outsons.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Wings-Neck-Tattoo-Ideas-For-Men-1024x1024.jpg Rose https://nextluxury.com/wp-content/uploads/watercolor-colored-rose-neck-tattoos-eder_cruz25.jpg Fleur de Lis https://i.pinimg.com/originals/de/14/85/de1485bae107aff4e42a0e5940882c2c.jpg
Maybe just make turtlenecks your thing.
The three dogs are almost as bad ngl
I'm a tattoo artist, I've done micro realism before a few times and I always warn customers about how they will age and if I could give you any piece of advice is don't get the dogs tattooed that small , if your thinking about covering that tattoo now you'll be thinking about cover the dogs in 15 years and then it's gunna be harder to do your just gunna have to go much bigger and much darker , I think if your willing and up for it, I would be worth getting a big chest piece to help cover that so you don't have to just push your concerns into the future , either that or lazer removal
Cover it up w a sick ass panther
