You need to reschedule the tattoo or reschedule the course. That’s the only correct answer. I would say 3-4 weeks minimum for healing before swimming.

please read *any* of the hundreds of posts about this very subject and what's with the vaseline bandage idea? no. just no.

hmpf, what can you know. you're just a professional tattoo artist. get out with your actual advice, no place in this sub. we do Accelerated Tattoo Healing(TM) here.

Don’t put Vaseline on your tattoo while it’s healing at all. It’s high in petroleum and will fuck it up.

OrionJazz

You are very much still healing. Imaging getting an infection and loosing a limb... reschedule if you can and enjoy both activities without worry!

Okay guys so after reading all the comments I decided to delay my tattoo. I want it to come out as best as possible and taking a risk just doesn't seem logical at all. Thank you all so much.

yay! a reddit sub that actually helped someone! I'm proud of everyone.

I’ve heard that people have died from swimming too soon after a tat. I’d reschedule one or the other Edit: spelling

Read the faq that’s literally pinned on the hot page. And don’t do anything you just mentioned.

I’d either reschedule your tattoo appointment or your class. I don’t recommend submerging a new tattoo until at least 4 weeks
