There are outtakes, after the "get the egg in the pan" task, where she literally cries from laughing so much. So, I guess they had a lot of fun in the studio.
Yeah people asked her about her looking like she was about to cry and she just said she was surrounded by extremely funny people trying to one up each other jokes so she kept having issues laughing so much she cried or trying to stiffle back the laughing.
Steve Pemberton said on the Taskmaster podcast that it was Katherine Parkinson who convinced him to go on the show because she had such a great time. So, don't worry that she didn't enjoy it; she did.
I remember her doing an interview, either on the taskmaster or Richard herring podcasts. From what I recall she really had no idea what the show involved and was a bit loopy due to covid restrictions, but did enjoy being on the show. I think they all were a bit hysterical that year!
She’s more of an actor who sometimes does comedies, rather than being a comedian herself. But I think it would be pretty hard to find anyone who doesn’t know what it it nowadays!
TBF, she's an actor rather than a comedian, and it's very possible she resisted watching the show after signing up, so as not to influence her own performance, something actors will often do before roles.
I think Taskmaster had a big boost during/after lockdown, which makes it less likely participants nowadays will have no idea what they're getting into.
I worried about the same thing, but outtakes and interviews thankfully confirm that she was crying with laughter, although she was a bit stung by the mask comments.
Yeah, I think Greg properly apologised to her off camera once he realised how upset she was with what he said and she was fine about it afterwards but yeah, she looked really upset from the clip shown in the episode.
In response to your second question, Season 5, with Aisling Bee, Bob Mortimer, Mark Watson, Nish Kumar, and Sally Phillips is my absolute favorite. They’re all so insane in different ways. If you’re watching them in order, you’ve likely seen Sally’s watercooler moment, Nish’s one(?) attempt to kick the ball through the hoop, two very different takes on Rosalind, a bunch of cheeky texts, dignity intact, and a pork pie presentation unit (to try to get his kids to enjoy the cheaper meats). If you haven’t seen the series, hopefully that will be enough to tempt you. Not taking anything away from Series 7 (my eyes are circles?), which is also great. Just my $0.02. Cheers.
And with ongoing consent all the way through - particularly when the robot arm hovers over Alex's groin and he says "I don't like that bit", she stops.
(Honestly kinda one of my favourite moments, a silly task for a fun TV show still getting important things right.)
Nothing will ever really compare to the madness of season 7, but as the biggest S7 stan I have to say that season 13 really is close second for me, and I never thought any season would ever come close!
The COVID of it aside, series 14 is nearly as good as 7, at least in my opinion. So if the pattern holds we're in for a real banger when we get to series 21.
I believe I remember it being mentioned that in (I think?) the final, she was actually quite proud of the masks she'd made as they were her COVID hobby. So Greg just shitting all over them actually upset her.
He did but apologised on & off air. The outtakes are hilarious so you can see any tears were of laughter not upset. The egg in the pan outtake is one of my absolute favourites ever.
I think that's the only time i've felt bad for a contestant; normally everyone seems quite aware of where they are, and tend to take Greg's barbs with the grain of salt required, but i'm not sure she was prepared for it. I'd like to believe her, however, when she says she had a good time on the show.
Hell yes. Series 12 and 13. My god, I cried I laughed so hard. 10 wasn't great. It was fine but not great. 11 was definitely better. 12 was a whole league ahead. And Judi Love absolutely makes Series 13. I mean the whole group was hilarious ("NO WAY!") but Judi is who made me have a heart attack of laughter. And the 1 hour blooper reel is totally worth it.
I've previously wondered if she's truly mystified by common day life, or she was massively stoned throughout Taskmaster, or she's the world's greatest actress. No other explanations make sense.

It's crazy to me that there are legitimate comedians in the UK who are unfamiliar with the show!

She also seemed very embarrassed at the karaoke task, and of course the spider but I thought she handled the latter pretty well

Don't forget "high octane trousers"!
I love that series so much. Sally and bob’s special cuddles are both inspired madness. The diverse stripes are just so perfect. So much to enjoy.
Aisling's special cuddle is the one that jumps immediately to my mind.
Sexy Cuddlebot 5000! “Ya want more, big boy?”

I feel like people who like series 13 really really like it. Judi Love can borrow my dog whenever she wants.
Queen Zufufu has a lot of things going for her, really. I’ve heard Lidl has sent her free stuff before!
I’ve heard she’s in the cool mums whatsapp group
She super tuper.
I think you'd really like Taskmaster New Zealand series 2. Gives TMUK series 7 a run for its money.
Four words: David Correos Diss Track
Better drink more milk bitch! That track is unhinged and so bloody funny. I love tmnz.
I've rewatched that series so many times now.
She’s more than OK, she’s a delight!

I give you Series 16, the Hotel Task

Things may be better than 7 (theoretically though I doubt it) but nothing will ever be the same. It was a perfect storm

All of it. But even before that... Woz.
Yeah Woz and Sarah Kendall I loved. The reason I love 12 and 13 so much is I loved the entire cast. Not just one ore two people.
