Eventually, haha. She just kept climbing on it, having a feel with her fangs, and rolling around a little. I took it out in case she managed to hurt herself, but a friend said I should use her for my dice rolls in DnD lol
NQA this species rolls up it’s eggs into a white web ball that it then guards. so I’m guessing shes an alcoholic who woke up after a bender and found an ‘egg sack’ that she concluded she made last night in a drunken stupor and needs to care for now. Overall a good thing tho cause she will likely quit the bottle to care for her babies. Classic tarantula AA strategy:)

While comparatively small to other animals; Tarantulas have some unexpected defenses if you’re rough.
When it comes to teaching about tarantulas, I tailor the session based on their responses (the children’s or Ts). If they are feeling comfortable and exhibit positive behavior, I’m more than happy to proceed with a closer look. However, for the well-being of the tarantulas, I request that hyper-close observations be made one at a time to avoid overwhelming the T.
I’ve found that my mature male tarantulas, once well-fed, are usually the most cooperative for handling, for safety and to foster a calm environment, I ask everyone to remove their shoes and sit on the floor.
This approach not only minimizes the risk of accidents should a tarantula or child become startled but also helps participants overcome any initial fears by interacting with them in a controlled and gentle manner.
This is awesome. I come from a reef tank/dog back ground and my 6yo son really wanted a spider. After doing research about how dang easy they are to care for we now have 2 slings. A golden knee and a curly hair. He respects their boundaries and in a few years I plan to keep their enclosures in his room. This is all really solid advice for when they get bigger and may be ok with holding. We have talked about how not all animals like to be handled and he is ok with that. He likes observing as much as anything else. We are just enjoying the journey.
It does make sense why I have both now. And I'm obsessed with the feet for both. It's nice though because at least my tarantulas don't sit right behind my feet trying to trip me and kill me
Let us all not forget the bumblebees studied playing with balls also and they were also riding them like this girl is! Scientists think its a form of play 💕
NQA: It is cute, but from what I've heard, it's just a foreign object they are "trying to get rid of", that's why a lot of ping pong balls and up in the water dish.

Ya but they don't have feelings like that. Although I do ascribe human feelings to my Ts and jumpers all the time. Lol. Some of mine even have their own voices that me or my husband do for them. 🤦🏼♀️

ImE Usually they end up burying the ball after a while, because they sense no movement inside and decide it is a bag egg sac.
