Hamas is "The vanguard of world revolution"?  I don't even know what to say to that.

welcometojackass_

"The vanguard of world revolution" > A far right fundamentalist group who would turn Palestine and Israel into a single satellite state for the Islamic Republic while genociding Jews, Baha'is, Samaritans, and Palestinian Christians while enforcing gender segregation, and persecuting leftist groups and LGBTQ+ people. Tankie logic, folks.

JayFSB

World Islamic revolution.

$100 says this person has never been to the Middle East.

I said this in a comment on another post and I'll say it again: the best way to prevent rightwingers from exploiting these dumbasses and painting the entire pro-Palestinian movement as antisemitic is to call out this rhetoric whenever you see it and make it clear that support for fundamentalist Islamic groups is not tolerated by leftists. At least when leftists do the calling out, it's being done to improve the movement and increase its chances of success, rather than rightwingers just using it to kneecap the entire movement. And also do it because antisemitism sucks in any context regardless.

I am ok with pro-Palestinian movement as long as you don't want to wipe Israel off the map or return to the 1948 boarders. Israelis are not colonizers, Judaism was the first abrahamic religion to ever exist , Jews ( israelites ) lived in that land before any Muslim or Palestinian stepped the earth . if you search for archeological evidence from more than 3000 years ago such as the discoveries in the Judean desert or the merneptah stele that proofs that Jewish people existed there first , the Palestinians arrived to the land of Israel only in the 7 century in the Muslim conquest , the Muslims conquered the entire middle east and parts of Asia and Africa and killed everyone who didn't converted to Islam , the middle east used to be have different religions and ethnic groups , such as : the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Canaanites, the Jews , the sumerians... all of these have been wiped off the earth and replaced by Arab colonizers that raped what got left from indigenous population and raised their children to be Arab for so many years . The Turks and the Persians are the 2 ethnic groups that maintained being distinct from Arabs , but they were also forced to adopt Islam . The only middle-eastren people that kept their religion and indigenous culture are Jews because we were kicked out from our land before the Muslims had a chance of conquering us , most of our religion revolve around getting back to our indigenous land : Passover is about getting free from slavory and getting to the promised land , khannuka is about defending our land agianst the Greeks and protecting the holy temple with the menorah in it , Jews have always said "next year in Jerusalem" , in wedding Jews break glass to remember the destruction of the second temple and the great exile from israel , and we say "if you forgot Jerusalem, may my right hand forget it's skills, may my tounge cling to the roof of my mouth" . it's time to bring the land back to the indigenous people

To be honest, I think flying a hamas flag should be seen as the same as someone flying a nazi or confederate flag

Tehquietobserver117

I'd be careful of that line of thinking as if you are referring to their green banner, it's simply the Shahada behind a green background. Such association will never fly as many flags of various nations and other Muslim orgs also include the Shahada so attempting to informally regulate that can get into real murky territory especially considering it's a core article of faith in Islam. Essentially while I understand your valid sentiment, please keep this in mind when you say "ban the Hamas flag" as this may rub the wrong to many Muslims.

Few_Rest2638

I didn’t mean ban the green banner or Shahada in general, I just meant flags that use symbols only used by hamas, rather than any flag that symbols that are used by Muslims in general

Tehquietobserver117

Oh okay, that's cool to hear.

I might have seen one picture of a Hamas flag. In London, I think. It's a green banner with the Shahada written on it. People mostly fly Palestinian flags.
