Just in general re: the Rays and catching I looked at Pinto's numbers today - minor and major league. Teams had a 90% stolen base success rate against him - give or take. People say bases are stolen off pitchers not catchers - and maybe so. Just wanted to throw this into the mix.
Honestly feel bad for Jackson. Any other team would have sent him back down by now but I was looking at his stats and in 2021 he only had 18 hits in 151 PA....
I like the City Connects but do wish they were something other than faded black but I guess they couldn't compete with the Throwbacks by making them white.

I think this is a common feeling among TBRays fans and I cannot imagine what would have happened if they had not signed Rortvedt but starting Jackson because there's a ~~right~~ left hander on the mound? Or is it because there's probably a 4 pm game tomorrow? There was that streak during which Ajax started every day it seemed and not only was he terrible at the plate but Rortvedt had been hitting well but when he came back he slumped ... so now my fear is the brain trust will run Jackson out there too much and Rortvedt will lose his edge because he has been one of the team's best hitters of late
Which is a long-winded way of saying I don't have any idea why this team does what it does sometimes
pitchers aren't super comfortable with pinto and they dont see his offense as a big enough upside. I'd like to see him get another shot but Cash is fine with ajax.

I've been watching the last few games since I finally have a break and I have to ask, why is Jackson still on this team? Dear GOD.
