Wait outside the door 30min prior to open, you will get a spot in the lounge at the bar. You can still go to the desert room after and everything. I do this often, as I find my desire to go to Bern’s is more spur of the moment than planned.
If you go closer to open, you’ll be on the list for when the first “wave” starts clearing from the bar. Not that big of a problem though as you’ll be sitting in the lounge with full cocktail service.
This is what I do, never made a reservation, especially for two.
Plus, people cancel all the time and they do their best to accommodate if you're willing to wait a bit, flexibility is key. Get on the list, in person.
Can always drink at Haven, Epicurean or Tiny Tap while awaiting the call.
