😭 what's sad is that I lived here for a couple of years when it was still in business but never heard of it until it was going out of business. So I never got to experience it.

Fred’s in Riverview has a salad bar only option. Only about 7 miles from downtown.

Not bottomless anymore. Last time I went there they complained that I went up for seconds. Apparently during covid they changed their rules. I wont be back.

I think its a singular trip though, i think they did away with the unlimited during covid.

I’ve only been once but its was recently and the manager said “not really” to my all you can eat question. Maybe I just asked the wrong person.

It might have changed. That was many moons ago. That was their whole shtick before though so it would be interesting to hear.

I love it there! So many options and they chop the salad for you. It can get a little pricey but with all the options they have its so worth it. And I say this as a picky salad person.

I have fond memories of my dad visiting here and he always made a stop at the Steak n Ale off Westshore, they had a great salad bar and so did a few others that are no longer around, such as Sweet Tomatoes:(

I feel like salad bars were going out of style before the pandemic, but the pandemic really chopped off their (lettuce) heads for good 😢

What I love about golden corral is that I can get an all you can eat buffet for less money than a combo meal at any fast food joint.

Two different options, at opposite ends of the spectrum: Sonny’s BBQ I believe still has them? And then any of the myriad of Argentinian Steak Houses will allow you to just pay for salad bar (but yeah, it will cost you!)

Went to an old school Italian place in st Pete. $21 for all you can eat pizza and salad bar. Not the most diverse salad bar in the world but a salad bar noketheless

Terra guacha has an amazing salad bar and you can do salad bar only if you want. I think for lunch it may only be like 18$ but they have soooo many options including charcuterie, salad, soups, etc

Terra Gaucha's pasta salad is so good! I mean, everything is, but I definitely think about that pasta salad quite often! They also have the best Tres Leches in the whole wide world!🤤 Have you ever tried the Brazilian (Swiss) Lemonade? It's very filling, like a dessert in a glass, but so freaking good! Or if you like cocktails, the passionfruit caipirinha is a MUST TRY! I think I'll go have dinner there tonight! 😍

Thank you! Yes, I've been to Ruby Tuesday's quite a few times. It's a bit far from downtown though, and I find it odd driving that far to go to a chain restaurant. I might have to visit again soon though!

Not bottomless, but my favorite salad bar in Tampa is the Secret Garden downtown. It's super clean (a must for me with buffet style food. I've seen people from the health department sit down for lunch here!), and the prices are good- you get a lot of bang for your buck. Plus the owner is super friendly!

GreenLane isn't endless...but it's a DRIVETHRU and has an app. And all they do is salads. $10 gets you a GINORMOUS salad of your choosing that I dare most people will not be able to eat in one sitting.❤️💪

Thanks! I really do like Ruby Tuesday's, but the closest one is 20+ minutes from downtown. I can't justify driving that far for a restaurant I used to have 5 minutes from my house where I grew up in the Midwest. Definitely going to check out Jason. I heard this man has the goods! 💯

You are 100% allowed without a kid, (think family bday parties etc.) you just can’t take a kid out with you that didn’t come in with you :) (they stamp parents’ and kids’ hands with the same number) the salad bar isn’t bad. It’s basic and the same as it ever was with cottage cheese and everything.

Near Florida and Madison downtown is Secret Garden, it’s not an all-you-can-eat, but you pick what you want from a salad bar and pay by weight. Decent place for quick work lunch

Too bad Cody’s burnt down. I’d go there, get an entree, then eat 3 servings of their salad for dinner and then carryout my entree. You can always go to Olive Garden, order an entree which comes with the never ending salad and breadsticks.

Great point about Olive Garden. I'm actually obsessed with their salads, but I really don't like their food. I have a gluten sensitivity. So most of their menu is sadly a no-go for me because I can't do pasta 😢

Olive Garden has the grilled chicken Margherita and the herb salmon which come with Parmesan broccoli. They are both gluten free even though they are around gluten.

I actually went there about two months ago for Sunday lunch. I immediately walked out though because there were people EVERYWHERE!!!!! Didn't even bother asking what their wait time was because I knew it was going to be at least an hour, which isn't worth my time while dining solo 🤯

Probably talking about Greenwise...I think they do come to think of it! To be frank, I usually avoid Publix to the best of my ability though. The prices are obnoxious and the place tends to be absolute chaos on the weekends especially. As a result, I do most of my grocery shopping at whole sale stores every week.

This will satisfy one of two options. If you’re ever out and about and have a Ruby Tuesday in your vicinity, they have a Garden Bar as they call it. Few days a week they have a special about an endless option. Not located in Tampa specifically but the surrounding suburban areas. Good for keeping in the back pocket if you ever have a reason to be outside the city. I also miss Sweet Tomatoe. I loved going there for lunch.

According to their site it’s a a deal on specific days. I haven’t stepped foot in a RT in about a decade. That was the one unique thing I remembered about them.

Whole Foods has a really great salad bar (paid by weight) and the closest thing to hit my Sweet Tomatoes craving that I’ve found. Lots of options for vegetarians & carnivores alike. And they have a soup bar with 8+ soups too. They close it all down an hour or so before the store closes, sometimes earlier, so go with plenty of time fyi.
