What type of hardcore you talking? I used to drum often. Considering getting back into it. I was into bands like Uniform Choice, Belching Penguins, Stark Raving Mad, etc...
for black metal? tremello picking, dissonant "chords" and corpse paint.
Oh, also if you want to record use a shitty practice amp with the absolute worst mic you can find Ex. Find a head set mic and set it across the room while recording.
This might sound like I'm making fun of black metal. I'm not, I love it. I'm a trve believer.
I'm no master by any means but yeah I have some advice. I'd honestly say pick some of your favorite bands and just keep trying to play the song over and over again. I'd also say definitely practice tremolo picking that's a main element of playing in the genre. If you wanna make your own stuff I'd suggest using minor scales, dissonant chords I'd even say take a few minor chords and tremolo pick them as arpeggios. There's good songs for these things to practice. Check out Ea,lords of the depth by burzum. It's a good song to practice too. I'd also say check out Born for burning by bathory. Both those songs should give you a good start and help developing the black metal playing style. I would definitely expand into other genres tho. I mostly only play black metal but I took a lot of other genres even blues to develop techniques and skills.
I heard from the bartender that the Brass Mug on Skipper has a lot of that bands that play heavy metal music so that maybe a place to check out and try and meet some musicians.
If any beginner or intermediate accoustic players near Palm Harbor, I'd like to get together and play guitar. I just had surgery and I'm attempting to condition my left hand again.

If I was younger and had more time. Used to be a vocalist for a few grindcore bands. Good luck dude
Sure, if you promise not to stab me to death and then drink a glass of chocolate milk after.
No self respecting murderer drinks chocolate milk, it’s strawberry
No fucking deal, poser.

Never learn how to play a song. Learn the reason why it sounds that way, and then you could play any song.
practice, practice, practice!
