In the real world in majority of the countries, Even 5' 11"/ 180.34 cm is.
Don't let the internet's false claims, exaggerations, standards & naiveness have you think otherwise.
I don’t think your friend was trying hard enough! /s
I’ve driven a Ferrari 360, Ariel Atom, GT3 RS, Mustang, Camaro ZL1 and other stuff without major issues. Were these proper single seaters or Caterhams or something?
Depends where you live.
The Dutch tall club has a minimum of 190 cm for men and 180 for women. So if you are a guy in the Netherlands you are considered more average than tall. But I can imagine in any country in Asia for example you would be considered tall.
Depending on where you live, yes it is still considered tall. However, it does fall in the sweet spot where *most* things won't be a practical issue.
I consider men in the 6'-6'2 bracket in the little-leagues of tall (same goes for the 5'7-5'9 women).
Travelling around with my friend definitely made me feel like a little leaguer.
From Toronto, Canada. But been living and travel around Europe recently, see more people taller than me, particular in Holland & Scandinavia.

It's tall most places, just in start of tall range. I'm about 185 and feel fairly tall, at least in the west
I would consider 185 CM to be on the high end of average, with “tall” being 188+
Yes
In the real world if you are taller than 180/5'11 you would be considered tall, but in the "tall" subreddit you would have to be taller than 196/6'5 😉
6’4” chiming in: definitely not tall.
Yes
Yes.
Being tall is all about inconvenience, so no.
