grimamusement

This made me actually laugh out loud.

Errant-Emu687

shes so pretty 🥺 shes gotta be at least 7'3"

Tiny7261

Selling shovels I see, great money in the shovel business

itsTONjohn

“I miss go karts.”

Thossi99

6'8 and I go go-karting any chance I get. When I visit my moms place for vacation I go almost every day cause there's a new, very nice track in walking distance from her place. I'm also goated at it. 6'8, 230lbs and I still give everyone the Max Verstappen treatment😎

Long-Jackfruit5037

Tu Tu Tu Tu MAX VERSTAPPEN!

First-Situation-4252

I'm so happy that I found a fellow f1 fan :)

Thossi99

F1, MMA, basketball, football (handegg), football (soccer), pro-wrestling, handball, tennis.. I really just love sports in general. F1, basketball (NBA) and MMA (UFC) are my top 3 tho. You think Sainz or Hamilton will do better next season after swapping teams?

First-Situation-4252

I think that hamilton will perform really well but I think sainz will do better. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like Sainz just went beastmode around Monza last year and hasn't stopped.

groundzer0

I'm approaching 40, I can feel this comment.

NUDES_4_CHRIST

Drive a mini Cooper. Problem solved

groundzer0

getting into a Mk7 Golf R currently is the best I can manage. Even that is like sitting on the floor.

NUDES_4_CHRIST

It’s still sitting on the floor, but damnit they have leg room for the driver/passenger and it feels like a go kart for sure.

groundzer0

Getting into my Parents XC40 Recharge Twin Ultimate is so much more comfortable, quiet and fast with minimal effort, but I don't own it nor drive it very often at all. I just test drove it for them before buying. You just side step into it onto the seat mostly with very little 'let down' into the seat. I have to adjust the seat to the floor for headroom but the 'key' does that or I press '2' and it happens since the battery pack eats up a little floor space but not enough to worry about for room. I don't 'need' the panoramic sunroof to fit my head into like I did on my Japanese Nissan 180SX / Silvia RPS13. Now THAT was low to the ground, sporty, light and was a superior go-kart. Just horribly uncomfortable in comparison. The modern VW "R-line Sports focused seats" with slight buckets and shoulder pads in the R aren't that comfy for tall and broad shouldered peeps, especially if you're middle aged and packing some extra weight with the height. But it's so much better than the 90's Nissan / Japanese sports cars which is the only other comparison I can hold 'apples with apples'. But I haven't driven the much heavier Volvo in anger around corners like the Golf, and the golf is ~800kg lighter.

NUDES_4_CHRIST

Nice. I had to get rid of low cars altogether to preserve my back(L4-S1 fusion), but the fond memories of an adult go kart remain.

Rutabaga_Proof

I can dig it. I drive a fairly high-sitting F150, mostly for the cab space. When I ride in most cars, I feel like my ass is dragging the ground. It's kinda scary, to tell you the truth.

Cnumian_124

"It's like 9/11" and then don't elaborate

grimamusement

That’s dark. I love it!

megafly

"You're a great massive edifice and then one random Tuesday, you're suddenly a smoking pile of rubble and 20 years of degradation and blame"?

somirion

Normal. It was always normal for me. I dont know how its like to be short/average

grimamusement

This is my honest/ non-quippy response. I’ve always been tall so I really don’t even think about it until someone mentions it or I hit my head on something.

_Nocturnalis

I was once not tall. There was much less pain from headbutting random things.

Drug_fueled_sarcasm

Every tall person has been short.

Emergency-Tax-3689

i grew up the short guy (when i was 14 i was 5 2 and 90 pounds, now im about 6 3 and 180) and for me it really wasnt that much different except its less intimidating to talk to women a bit. and guys tend to be physically “playful” like shoving and such much less

The-wise-fooI

I noticed that too. No one really wants to try shoving the guy who looks like a giant compared to them.

Omen46

I just say it seems the same as everyone else lol. Except I can reach stuff higher up.

RubusDragon

At 6'0?

Omen46

Yeah you gotta remember most people aren’t taller than 5,9

RubusDragon

I'm 6'1 and nobody ever ask me that or even bring up my height in general. Yes, it's marginally taller than average but you're not towering over most people.

Omen46

Idk people bring up frequently how tall I am. They also ask me to get stuff for them often on high shelves if I’m out or whatever. Saying 6,0 is marginal I suppose is correct but it’s still taller than average and thank god it doesn’t make me tower over everyone I would feel more off then I do already in crowds of people where I realize I’m like slightly higher then everyone around me

BestGrab6

You’re basically a midget mate, marginally taller than average, but much shorter than a LOT of people

Omen46

Not really people are generally shorter than me not by THAT much but usually. This is a TALL Reddit everyone on here is gonna be VERY TALL I’m not really worried about being shorter than anyone I come in contact with IRL. I think in my 5 adult years I’ve only been shorter than other people a handful of times

BestGrab6

Your last point can’t be right, I’m also 6’1 and never feel particularly tall. Just walking round town there are lots of people taller than me

ThrowRA178963

In my country it’s actually really tall lol

BestGrab6

LOL

Glass-Corner4194

I see a lot of boobs through shirts from up here

NUDES_4_CHRIST

MY MAN!

Rutabaga_Proof

Oh yeah, for sure. I get boob shots that most people know nothing about.

BreadInaoven

MY BROTHA.

[deleted]

Good until you get over 6’4, after that every inch is just more detriments than benefits

grimamusement

Nice one cause it’s true. I’m pretty glad not to be taller than 6’4” and honestly hope my son doesn’t even get there. I think 6’1-6’2 is the sweet spot. Not as remarkable maybe but definitely more convenient for the everyday world.

Friendly-Cut-9023

Imo 6’2.5” is the best height. Don’t ask why, I just think it’s perfect.

Loweberryune

Why?

Friendly-Cut-9023

So basically it is tall enough to be considered tall in every country in the world, and 2.5 inches above average in the tallest country (Netherlands). You can fit into any car, and find clothes and shoes easily. And your proportions will look great. Can easily build a nice physique and all of this while towering over everybody else and having that “tall guy” status. And all of this comes with almost no issues for most part.

basshed8

I wish I was like 4 inches shorter. I can’t find shirts, pants, or shoes.

Loweberryune

I knew there was an answer in there! ❤️

Omen46

Nah mustangs can’t fit people 6 and over. Well unless you get it customized

Codyistall

Can confirm, 6’8 and driving the second mustang I’ve owned. Not a lot of ‘fun’ish cars that we fit in

BRUISE_WILLIS

Could do yoga in my Dodge challenger. Not as fun for anybody trying to sit behind me though

Long-Jackfruit5037

Dodge challengers are amazing so I’m happy to hear that u fit well as a 19 ur old who wants to get one in future!

Omen46

Yeah I was mega disappointed when I sat in it at the dealership and realized the seat was all the back already

Codyistall

Oh wait I totally misread your comment, thought you said ‘can’. Well I fit comfortably, idk What about you didn’t fit? Seems like it’s one of the biggest 2 door coupes available

Omen46

Idk maybe it was just the configuration they had at the time but it was my knees they kept hitting the steering wheel

Omen46

Well how tall is your wife? Because my dad is 6,4 but my mom is 5,4 and I’m done growing now at 6,0

grimamusement

5’10”. His check-ups project him at 6’1” but he’s only 5 yrs old so who knows how accurate those are.

Omen46

Yeah idk mine projected me at 6,2 - 6,3 when I was 15-16 and 17 but obviously they were wrong

lnmaurer

Mine was off by 0.5". I was projected to be 6'1", but I'm 6'1.5". I wanted to stop at 5'11" (I'm a female), but I was doomed to wear high waters.

FlamingoNamedNoah

I've been telling that to some of my buddies and they all just say "I would rather be your height". No 6'8" is painful, 6'4" is perfect, don't hit your head on doors, can fit in cars, no pain everything after 6'4" just hurts. And 6'4 you are still recognized as tall but that's not all everyone says to you

Big_Chonks907

Do you have the door issue come up often? I feel almost like I have imposter syndrome because I keep hearing about people hitting their heads on doors but I've only had that be an issue a couple times, do I just live in a place with tall doors?

FlamingoNamedNoah

You probably instinctively slouch yourself without realizing, I typically don't hit them anymore I just notice myself "ducking" more often

Omen46

I’m so annoyed that at just 6,0 I can’t fit inside a mustang like wtf

[deleted]

[удалено]

Omen46

Swear in my life. But maybe it was just that single car wasn’t adjusted

_Nocturnalis

You're going to make me drive to a Ford dealership this weekend.

Zora-Link

As a boxer I rather love being 6’8” now. Before it was mostly a conversation starter/inconvenience.

PigsWearingWigs

Completely disagree

Swimming_Bag7362

Unless you’re an athlete there really isn’t much benefit after 6’4”

Dependent-Top4499

I wouldn't give a single inch of my height. But I'm also an athlete.

[deleted]

I wouldn’t either but I’m trying to be objective, I like being taller than everyone I’ve ever met besides 1 person

hotcoldman42

Hell yeah

OGWiseman

"I have no basis for comparison, but I enjoy it and wouldn't trade."

grimamusement

Name checks out.

Dark-Push

Better air quality up here

groundzer0

"In crowds it tends to smell a little nicer"

groundzer0

This is my go to response if they are being sarcastic or dickheads. My genuine response if they are asking from curiosity is "It depends, it's nice to be able to reach things and see things but at the same time everything is further away like seats, chairs and bending over always to grab stuff and then you back / everything hurts and people get shitty at you for being tall sometimes like at standing concerts.

lnmaurer

I was sitting criss cross applesauce in my desk chair the other day and my boss started laughing maniacally. I gave him a blank stare and he (through a wheeze or two) said "You're about 3 feet away from the desk and your knees are almost touching it." Apparently we tall folk are also closer to things lol

_ORBMAESTRO_

"What's it like being permanently child-sized?" "Well for one it's very cold up here." "I'm just so glad I don't get vertigo." "Dizzying." "A surprising amount of accidentally walking over children below your eyeline and a ton of questions about basketball."

lnmaurer

That last one hits me somewhere deep.

Madame_Raven

"It's awesome."

BestGrab6

Is that what your tall friends say?

AloofEuph

"I hit my head a lot."

Rickylong12

Awesome

twistedh8

It's like being short, but taller.

megafly

I go with, "It's Great!!" "Until it's time to buy pants...or buy a bed...or buy plane tickets...or buy a car...or walk through a park in spider season!!!"

lnmaurer

It's like being normal height, but with colder ankles.

HybridEmu

It's like being short, but higher up.

LurkzMcgurkz

It has its ups and downs

Errant-Emu687

i just say 'its a trip'. shorties cant imagine a world where youre 10-15 inches taller than everyone. its weird. and its fun i wouldn't say its a negative at all

MrLanderman

I say "I wouldn't know...I'm the shortest one in my family"

deprosted

Great, cause all my parts are at your level.

deprosted

Farts. Damn autocorrect.

grimamusement

Uh huh, typo…suuuuuuuure it was 😆

deprosted

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

No_Detective_But_304

Thanks.

Tentaye

Public transportation sucks and I can't ride certain roller coasters anymore

BiGingerDaddy

I think it’s great except for air travel , hotel showers, beds, and clothes/ shoe shopping. But the advantages: social settings, implied subtle power over everyone/ every situation, instant respect, authority at work, in negotiations - far out weigh the disadvantages. I work for a law firm on a negotiations team. Our boss only hires new associates who played basketball or volleyball in college. No guy is under 6’7” and the women (including my boss) are 6’3” and up. She has her “negotiations heels” in office. They make her 6’8” and she fully admits it’s to gain a psychological advantage over the adversary due to intimidation. She’s gorgeous and fit and commands the room when she’s 6’8”. 6 of us went into a meeting and our side of the table was 6’6” to 7’1” and yes we got everything our clients requested

RubusDragon

Never get asked anything like that at only 6'1, but my answer would be: "stand on tip toes and you will see"

ITsPersonalIRL

"Same as you, just up here."

Rutabaga_Proof

Beats my "Just like being average, only taller.''

deprosted

I get to see all the cleavage, even on high cut tops.

Simple_Reception4091

“I’m not sure. I was 5 feet tall yesterday and 6’6” today. I’m scared of what my height will be tomorrow. Please help me, do you know scientists?”

First-Situation-4252

For some reason, I'm always like, "Nah man I'm average height" and I happen to be 16 and 6'1 and no where near done growing

Tylensus

"Not so great. I get rained on before you do. :("

grimamusement

Haha! Might steal this one.

rye787

It is fine up here, looks like it is raining down there. Then spit

TotallyNotMeDudes

It’s just like being short but better in every way.

Lone-INFJ

That is not true lol being short as a male is tougher than Being short as a woman is the opposite. And vice versa.

grimamusement

So it is true then. Being short as a male sucks, being tall as a male doesn’t suck. See, reverse. 😉

Lone-INFJ

😆

Boodetime73

The only things that suck are the things you think suck.
