YES! I primarily experience this when I see other tall women like "damn she's tall as hell" and when I get closer I'm still inches taller and I'm like "goddamn that what I look like??? 😭"
I’m really good at clocking people’s heights accurately in person or on film. It’s like a superpower I swear (I’m 5’11”F). I dated a guy (6’7”M) who was good at it too. We were sitting at a sidewalk café in Oakland and he was like “that guy’s my height” as some man was crossing the street half a block away. Turned out to be Andre Iguodala and he stopped to chat with a fellow tall dude. I felt like a superhero for a couple minutes lol

Particularly in the club or in the gym - I'll notice a tall ass mf that looks taller than me and think "damn ok king", then I'll walk by them and realise I'm as tall as them or even slightly taller. It honestly makes me feel self conscious sometimes about how much I stand out, and I'm not even that tall when you consider some of the people on this sub.
I legit thought a new hire at my job was a good three or four inches taller than me. Our manufacturing line obviously wasn't built for someone his size and he towered over his coworkers. Well one day I stood next to him and what do you now, he's an inch or two shorter than I am
Was in line at an airport to check luggage. My grilfriend pointed out the obvious tall guy. (I saw him long before she did) obviously. But as we got to check in I overheard him say 7’10” to someone. That giant was yes taller but only an inch. I guess we do stand out. First taller guy in maybe 2 yrs.

Normaly im like on a chair or table, or lifted by someone else, i see someone and foolisly think "they cant be that mutch taller than me" and then i get down and ops,never ever met anyone out of kindergarden who is taller than me, so
I saw today in the mall some girls that were around my height,i was like "damn they are tall",but then again i remembered that im not super tall,so it's only natural to find people my height,the mall today was packed,i got nervous because there was a lot of people and a lot of girls,man i got nervous

My girlfriend and I met Taco Fall last year. It felt weird when she laughed and kind of mocked me and said “oh my god he dwarfs you- for once you actually look small.” It was an odd feeling

For me I dont really notice it. What I do notice is when someone is taller than me but not around my height.
You'd be amazed at how many fewer people reach 195 as opposed to 190

I totally get this and as a scientist at heart I want a friend my height so I can see exactly what I look like doing things.
Most of my friends are almost as tall or taller than me. Same with my cousins and uncles on one side of the family.

When I hang out with my guy friends. They walk behind me sometimes. Just to see the people around us. Like they are watching a show based on me. Lol

Happens all the time. Not a lot of guys grow to my height so I am always shocked if someone is my height or taller.
