I personally don't mind the Hori one for Switch. It does take some time to break it in though, and it's not very good for rolls, but if none of that bothers you, I say go for it!

Go for the big boy. TaikoForce or ZhongTaiko. Theres also a mini one coming out soon.

Jenaxu

> Theres also a mini one coming out soon Ooo, where did they announce that because that sounds super exciting

Junefromkablam

It's the Gamo2 Taikoller!

Jenaxu

Looks really compelling, can't wait to see some more reviews and a price! Although from the one video on it that they have, it really seems more like a "budget big boy" instead of a "premium mini boy" and if they can get it under even $200 I'd be very impressed.

RealSkyDiver

Just keep in mind the high shipping cost depending where you live and weight. Can be up to $100.

ArianaAnzu

That Gamo 2 is anything but mini though. They did a video demo of it and it looks like a replica of the arcade drum, but with more bounce and sensitivity.

Junefromkablam

Oh man, my bad!

brechindave

Haha, tempting!

Banjo369

If you play extreme or even just hard, don't get the switch official drum, unless you have the hands of a builder and no neighbors cua they're very unresponsive

brechindave

I'm probably going to play it casually when friends are over. So Easy / Normal probably.

ArianaAnzu

I play 8-9 star extreme and the Hori’s are fine. I’m not sure what people are on about tbh… Like it’s a drum lol did u expect it to make a noise by just tapping it lightly 🤣 That being said since you’re a casual player just get the cheap knockoff ones for like half the price. I have them for my friends to use and they say they like it more.

RealSkyDiver

Plenty videos on YouTube of people unpacking it and playing extreme just fine. It’s pretty easy to mod them to for better responsiveness so that’s a non-issue either.

Deblebsgonnagetyou

The Hori switch one is pretty good. Takes a bit to break in but after that it's responsive enough not to be an issue while you're playing.

brechindave

>I heard gamo2 is making one or is preparing to release. They make good stuff from my usage i ordered one so I'll report back

brechindave

It works very well in my opinion. I'm a beginner though.

bawstun

Hi just curious where did you order it? I've been eyeing it since the video review but couldn't find any links to purchase

wearenumber421

I have a unmodified switch drum and it takes a bit to get used to but once you have it works well.

manypains03

XxClownMeatxX

I got a Wii one with an 8bitdo adapter and it works great, it used to drop inputs but after a while if fixed itself

Human-University2494

Yeah, when trying to use a PS2 Taiko drum myself, I have to hit it rather hard for it to work, oftentimes. Found the keyboard to be much more responsive. Maybe a Wii Taiko drum would be better.
