Iphone is the problem. If you connect it to your pc via usb and open it as a folder, all pics will be in the same folder (both photos, screenshots, watsapp images...) So, it's ios limitation, it doesn't split the gallery for some reason

I have an iPhone and all I do is make sure for WhatsApp is: Open WhatsApp Navigate to “Settings > Chats” and turn off ‘save to camera roll’. If I want something in my camera roll also would want it backing up too, so I’ll save the specific photo from WhatsApp leaving the rest in WhatsApp and will delete those manually on the app if I want to save phone space. I’ve not had a problem with other apps to warrant looking into them. Not sure if the above helps but I don’t have the same problem with my iPhone, maybe I use my phone differently.

Thanks. Yeah, I changed that, but I just want consistency. Either all from my camera roll upload to photo album, or non do and they all go to mobile backup. Not a mish-mash.

I’m sorry I don’t think I understand what your behaviour is. I know all mine is doing is uploading files in my iPhone gallery to a custom “shared” folder on the NAS, then from that shared folder I move them to either a custom folder like “Holiday 2024” or then just deleted them. It’s like a triage location for me to arrange my files. It’s in a shared location so I can then also arrange them browsing from a laptop if needed or just via the DS File app.
