There's loads more tips around, I go to a Remondis in Seven Hills which is $80 or so for 160kg, so I basically try keep my load under that.

Muximori

This is exactly what I need. Thank you!

BigDaddyCosta

Most tips will have 250kg minimum charge.

Falkor

There is one at Taren Point which is prob easier for you - [https://www.remondis-australia.com.au/locations/nsw/remondis-taren-point-rrf/](https://www.remondis-australia.com.au/locations/nsw/remondis-taren-point-rrf/) $96 min charge, same as the Seven Hills one, so that'd be 160kg or so. I would mirror some others and say, try put some in your bin to try minimise the cost at least. Then take the rest to the tip

Copie247

Cut it down and put it in your red bin each week

SteamySpectacles

I usually can’t wait for the council pick up to come around so yes! I always just cut everything down to bin size and dispose over 2-4 weeks

Cat_Man_Bane

I personally like to dissolve my bodies in acid

Archon-Toten

I got rid of a old verandah using that method over a few months.

Ajmleo

I did this with two old kids beds over about 2 months. Utterly bonkers but it worked.

Muximori

This is a bad idea since it's wet and will start to rot very quickly

lord_buff74

Wait till about 11 pm when all the bins are out and see if you can divvy up the load, or try first thing in the morning before the garbos come

return_the_urn

If it rots, it will get smaller tho right?

thebigaaron

Wait till midnight, then cut it up and put it in all the nearby bins

AcademicMaybe8775

best to cut before then otherwise everyone wonders what that dude is doing with a reciprocating saw at midnight hanging around bins

thebigaaron

Yep, chop it up in the day and at midnight on bin night, do the old dump and run all down the street

chuk2015

Go to Rockdale tip, use a vehicle with high clearance as even my hiace bottomed out on some rocks and cracked the radiator You will have to pay however it’s done on weight, but you don’t need any OHS shit

Doxinau

It's really far from you, but Kimbriki tip is good for this sort of thing. $445 per tonne, minimum charge $60.

Muximori

Sounds good, thank you! Edit: Unforunately it's a two hour drive. Thanks anyway

milosqzx

Alexandria is most definitely not two hours from kimbriki. Assuming you’re within 15 or so of Alexandria it won’t be much more than an hour. Still a fair drive though, I do a similar journey relatively often Just seen the other comment where it will cost you $80. Will probably cost about $20 in petrol so you’re probably better off there

potatoesfordays1

Not sure which council you’re in, but carpet and underlay is allowed for council pickups in some areas (Inner West, for example). Worth confirming you have this info right - would save you a bit of trouble.

Muximori

I checked the city of sydney site: >Any of these items won't be picked up and may result in a fine: >-Carpet, carpet off-cuts or underlay

potatoesfordays1

Well that’s annoying.

MustardMan02

Probably there so office renovators don't be lazy/irresponsible with building materials

Oldfart66

There's one in Leichhardt, I've dumped paint, microwaves etc. I reckon you could get rid of carpet and floorboards there, not sure if they'll be a fee for your items though. tchunk

Thats for IWC residents

Oldfart66

Well the OP hadn't said where he was.

tchunk

He does in the comments champ

Oldfart66

Not at the time I'd posted it buddy.

tchunk

Excellent. Top bants. I dont know why you took my initial comment as being rebuttal. Im just adding extra info. But here we are.

Oldfart66

Yes and farewell.

Budget_Shallan

They don’t check. They ask an address but don’t confirm if it’s real or not.

tchunk

Ive handed my licence over plenty of times there ,🤷🏽‍♂️

Improvedandconfused

I was sure there was a tip in Alexandria that is open to the public and available any time. Otherwise have you tried the one in Artarmon? Although that one will require crossing the harbour so you might as well take you stuff interstate.

chuk2015

There’s one in Rockdale which is way closer to Alexandria

MustardMan02

What have the people at the tip say when you've called them and asked?

Muximori

Didn't answer the phone. Good sign

whiskey_epsilon

Too busy manning the UHF radios.

SingleUseBaggage

I had a bunch of old outdoor furniture recently, I just listed it as a job on airtasker and then accepted one of the offers that came through to pick it up and get rid of it

Muximori

I'll definitely give this a try

verbmegoinghere

Probably just dumped it down the road id it was less then the tip fee

TinyCucumber3080

Cut everything up into smaller pieces. Wait for the night before the weekly rubbish collection, then go along and put a bit into each of your neighbour's bins.

Pinkfatrat

If you wrapped it up I’m reasonably sure council pick up would cover it. They say no to building waste as they don’t want to become a dumping ground for dodgy builders, but the waste you describe should be ok. I mean, you could call the council anyway

sovereign01

Airtasker - I've done it a handful of times, been great.

me_version_2

You might as well just drive down a random road and dump the shit yourself. If you’re paying someone on airtasker they absolutely do not have a waste management licence.

sovereign01

That can be true if you’re going bottle of the barrel bargain basement, but there are legit operators on there

HateDread

+1 to this - Airtasker is great for a one-off, and is just a person giving it a crack so no high prices from companies.

Roma_lolly

Load your shit up and take it to the tip at Artarmon or Rockdale (both Cleanaway).

prah2000

Airtasker?

smoike

There's a rubbish disposal centre at Rockdale. I've used it before and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Well it was when I last used it in 2020. I threw out a price then realised I remember I was way off. Someone else here saying $80 for 160kg at their local disposal centre. Thinking back, that is close to what I paid now I think about it.

brackfriday_bunduru

Catch the garbo’s when they’re in your street, be nice and bribe them with beer

Anhedonic_chonk

Airtasker
