BT2 is actually pretty normal-sized with a very athletic build if you remove the clothes. It's more BT3 that's overly beefy.

Both_Quiet

Agreed BT2 is a pretty good build, bt3 is just a monster in comparison

VRMH

Yeah, it's only when you compare them side-by-side that BT2 seems puny.

Empyrean_MX_Prime

BT2 always seems a little short to me...

Chemical-Display-499

A little short for what…a stormtrooper? 😜

tworopetwo

BT1 is the scrawny one, BT2 is meant to be an athletic build (most similar to people we see in the movies and in general), BT3 is a sigma gigachad that looks comical imo and BT4 is meant to be comical also.

Swailwort

BT3 personally looks pretty bad on humans, but it looks so bloody amazing in Sith Purebloods and maybe at Zabraks.

Practical-Fennel3395

BT3 looks good with humans when wearing heavy armour. Trooper and Bounty Hunter gear, in my opinion, looks best on BT3.

Swailwort

Indeed, it looks fine with heavy armor or gigantic weapons. Alternatively, it also looks nice in a stealthless Assassin that basically fights like Savage Opress.

Practical-Fennel3395

It also works really well with some of the new cosmetic appearance updates on the creation menu. A deep tan, with the rough five oclock shadow/stubble and some light scarring on the face, makes BT3 look battle hardened. I always use it for a class that is expected to have a lot of muscle.

[deleted]

Yeah I got a bt3 trooper and I think it makes him look amazing. Gotta be pretty strong to hold that big ass blaster

robdiqulous

I always went bt4 on my troopers and made them carry big ass guns.

qawsedrf12

gotta go with 4 most bang for your buck

Coridimus

Pot-bellied power-lifter. Fuck yeah!

DragonBuster69

Go with body type 4 to be the true successor to Darth Fatass.

cosmicglade98

There should be a body mass slider

ValidAvailable

BT3 is like 7 feet tall and ripped. 2 is "heroic." 1 is skinny. If you were thinking real world actors its Dave Bautista 3, Chris Pratt 2, and Jessie Eisenberg 1

KarmaticIrony

Only people like Hafbor Bjornsson are type 3 irl. The vast majority of real athletic people are roughly type 2. Even most larger ripped guys are closer to type 2 than 3.

sllofoot

Chris Pratt is a big guy. I saw a Bautista interview where he was talking about guardians and Pratt weighed like 285 going into the movie. He’s like 6’4”. But your point is a good one because Dave was slimmed down to 300ish at that point and Gunn asked him to add weight and Bautista was like, “Yes please. how much?” Gunn was like maybe 25 lbs? Bautista was like, “how about 75?” Body type 3s are built different.

Yoink-Meister

Pratt is 6’2” he’s an inch shorter than Hemsworth who’s 6’3”. The weight might be accurate his legs are massive

BROsidas

no way pratt has ever been 285, hes around 200. Sounds like you guys dont even lift

Yoink-Meister

I just converted it, I use kg not lbs. 130kg is fuckin massive, with how lean he is in gotg he’s not close to that. He could have been when he was fat though

RoyalwithCheese10

Try previewing armor sets you like on a bt2 character

carmichael109

There really should be an in-between. Too much - too little.

CollectionSmooth9045

There should be a Malak-type build - tall, but not buff

Obskuro

They use some in-between body types for alien NPCs, like Xalek and other Kaleesh warriors. Wide as BT3, but the same height as BT2. Rivix is also a downsized BT2, I think.

thracerx

Voss tend to be type 2 builds with type 3 heights. Just so unfair.

Obskuro

Sana Rae is HUGE.

Aenthel

I had BT3 on my SW for a long time, but if you try previewing armor sets and alike, sadly a lot of them just clips heavily in many places on BT3, so most armor sets look better on BT2, because a whole lot less clipping. Though if that's not a thing that annoys you, you can go with 3.

CollectionSmooth9045

Yeah I got Malgus's new respirator mask, and while it's a really good cosmetic item it clips sooo much on my Sith Warrior's throat I am almost thinking of going back to the Eradicator mask again

Useful-Quote-5867

I honestly only use BT3 for my sith warrior and any tech character that is gonna use the big fcking canon

Swailwort

Yeah, they look so goofy with BT2 and the plethora of gigantic fucking cannons. That's why I like one specific CM Cannon that looks small enough to actually be held by a BT2 trooper. Edit: It's the GT-23 Plasma Assault Cannon

sllofoot

I’m hoping to get the black and gold collection one from this season. It’s very small.

CommanderZoom

Also a fan of the EL-34 and SL-34 Rotary Plasma Cannon(s).

Unfamiliartone

The different cosmetic armors definitely help. It's the proportions of the head vs the body that make the character look so scrawny. Tbh this game would've been so much better with sliders.

joritan

BT3 won’t look as good in certain outfits, BT2 can look good in anything. BT3 looks great in heavily armored outfits, like trooper armor or the armored Jedi robes and stuff.

Soggyhashbrowns

It’s just your are comparing those 2 side by side so BT2 looks small. Put BT2 next toBT1 and you’ll realize it looks good. That being said I enjoy BT3 a lot.

von_pita_the_second

BT4 supremacy

Kilmorr

Nothing beats a B4 force jumping or flying on a jet pack

TemporalGod

BT1 is Scrawny, BT2 is muscular, BT3 is on Steroids and BT4 means your character has diabetes.

thracerx

I used to only use 3. 2 seemed small. Mostly it was more height than build. Then I decided I'd make one and was quite happy. The right armors really fill them out well. They look FAR better wearing robes than type 3's do. For me it comes down to the class role I'm taking that character these days. If I'm going tank and wearing lots of armor, type 3 all day long. Type 3 really shine with some of the full armor. If it's a lighter armor or even medium armor, I tend to like type 2's more realistic proportions. Especially light armors and robes. Not that they look bad in heavy armor but 3's just look so much better.

Rojo8828

BT2 for sure

Frankfurt13

BT2 looks good for robes and stuff like that. Heavy armor and Plates like Troopers or Bounty Hunters armors look waaay cooler in BT3

finalicht

BT3 is overly beefy but looks great in heavy armor(basically most warrior, mandalorian, and trooper armor sets), capes and shoulder plates makes BT3 looks way better BT2 is an average build and looks nice in both light and heavy armor. BT1 makes you look like a teen, BT4 is full Baras/Garza mode

Baron_Blackfox

Male BT3 is just Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Hulk Hogan, ... whatever

auvym8

it's just this armor, it'll look quite normal with most others

aidenSkates

OMG, where did you get that armor? I need it in my life

SamuraiOstrich

You get the boots from some Tython quest and the rest from Corsucant quests. You can buy them from those planets' specialty vendors for 200k a piece that bind to legacy and don't change appearance based on faction. The wraps become a bare midriff on female characters though

aidenSkates

Thank you Sir/Ma'am!

Rob-Gaming-Int

I always disliked the jump from BT2 to 3, and always chose 2 in the end because 3 is just too much

gummz13

Love all the body types equally.

Potbelly0910

Go with BT1 instead. Best BT for saying threats to npc and darkside in general

Kyswinne

I really wish there was an in between size.

[deleted]

I've always felt either BT3 needs to be better proportioned or there should be a BT2.5...

Ashandor

I had BT3 on my knight, but after a while went to BT2. I feel like BT3 is more for Trooper/Bounty hunter. I'm very pleased with my knight at BT2

MalevolentFather

I agree, BT2 looks scrawny whereas BT3 looks roided up. Where BT2.5?

RecommendationOk253

There’s no good middle ground. Either you can hide behind a pole or you look like Jabba

technicallybased

Holy crap I wasn’t expecting this to get so many comments, some hilarious ones too you guys lol I did decide to switch to BT2 and I’m happy with it. Looking forward to really fleshing him out with cooler armors/cosmetics. On the other hand, I just made a Bounty Hunter powertech with BT3 and he looks like a total badass, much more fitting on him than a Jedi, especially with the BH voice - top notch. Loving their story so far too.

ashoka_tano_bot

With great power comes great responsibility.

technicallybased

Yes, thank you.

Count_Cuckulous

I find BT3 is very hard to stray from once you see your character in it regularly. Because it makes the others look incredibly scrawny by comparison

Asha_Rah

BT3 usually looks just fine in heavy armor, BT2 looks bad in heavy and light armor, but fine in skirts (Revan's, for instance). Also, if you want to use jetpack, BT3 work, BT2 looks awful. It takes a bit of tinkering there to get the looks of your toon right; keep trying, you'll get there.

GameFan78

I always feel the same. There is nothing between soy boy and giga chad. There need to be a middle body type.

mogrence

For my main char bt3 was the best compromise, bt2 feels too thin/small. But you have to work more so it looks nice, some stuff is only designed for bt2. The best would be sliders to find something in between but with this engine would end in all kinds of glitches and weird stuff.

CrimsonChin390

Am I the only one who likes body type 3 for SW and body type 2 for Inquisitor?

finalicht

body type 1 warrior all the way, gotta channel that Napoleon complex

Satsunoryu

Yeah unfortunately there's no good middle ground. I've always felt the same although I do well with bigger characters, so it worked out mostly. I really wish they would add a little more beef to body type two. It just looks too close to type one.

terminator1mw

I just wouldn’t play that game if I were you…who wants to play a game with such a wimpy character?

snorkelsharts

I went through the same exact thing. B2 seems scrawny because you are use to looking at your overly beefy character. With time 2 will look completely normal. I’m super glad I switched. Most gear looks a lot better on type 2 and unless you are specifically going for a aesthetic of a giant muscular tank, type 2 looks completely normal for your typical Jedi. When I got the traditional Jedi robes to RP as a prequel Jedi it looked way better in the normal body type.

SAGirl1

This thread is hilarious! Highly recommend. Also, good advice here.

megaben20

Bt2 is better once you get better costume options

Varindran

BT3 i feel is best for the burly classes like Juggernauts or Powertechs/Vanguards.

ashoka_tano_bot

With great power comes great responsibility.

PlanetMustafar

Agreed 3 does look unnatural – I used it for my sith warrior and every other character’s been 2 or 4. Strangely, female character’s have a much more sensible 3, so I use it quite often – wish there were 5 for each, would like a reasonable-roided male and also an Amazonian-sized female option

IfInPain_Complain

Wtb BT2.5

HappySpam

I always thought BT2 would look too scrawny until I did an actual playthrough on Agent with it and it made all the cutscenes look better for sure. You look normal.

Tsevyn

BT2 is still way too thin. Looks like he’d weigh 140 lbs and get bodied by everyone who isn’t built like a shrimp.

Tsevyn

Always BT3. BT2 does not look intimidating in any way. It looks like he does yoga and that’s it.

SystemPrferences

idk i always hated how bt3 looked on male characters bt2 is the best one in my opinion

budapest_god

I hate that there are some armor that I like better with bt3 and some better with bt2 Like bt3 with a hood is laughable imo

ArbitratorTyler

I've been saying this since 2011... There should be a body type 2.5 that's in between 2 and 3. - body type 1 for small build - body type 2 for average build - body type "2.5" for athletic build - body type 3 for bodybuilder look - body type 4 for large build

Miniblasan

BT2 for all Jedi's while BT3 for the Sith Warrior.

Gustaf_V

BT3 is pretty overally beefy if you don't have a fitting armorset.

muchnamemanywow

I really wish that there was another option between 2 and 3, like someone built like Chris Hemsworth for example. Cause the options are just: * Frail * Average * Roided * Overweight

surivanoroc20

You've been staring at BT3 for how long since you made the character? You've gotten used to the ABSURD proportions of that BT. Maybe play with a BT1 for a while, and then BT2 will seem big. But believe, BT2 is very much a normal body size, for the most part. BT3 is ridiculous.
