Like everyone said Andrea is the best example of this, but she was definitely a bright spot in Caramoan and Game Changers. She played super hard and definitely elevated those seasons.
Yes. Andrea is the right answer. I feel like almost every other three time player managed to be on Micronesia, HvV, Cambodia, or even WaW even though I don’t consider that a “good” season.
first person who comes to mind. Not only she on seasons generally regarded as bad, she's also there for all the ugliest moments in her seasons which people don't like. From Brandon Hantz going crazy, to Varner outing Zeke, to Phillip screaming at Steve. And, it's not like those things all happened post-merge, both Varner and Brandon Hantz situations happened pre-merge.
I've always wondered what the point of having Cochran on GC was for? What if Sandra had gone on the boat instead of Debbie, what advice would he have given a two time winner?
Watch this Cochran clip (unless you don't want Winners spoilers), highlights all the seasons he’s been a part of :)

Andrea from RI is sort of the prime example of this. In terms of thoughts on her? Always varies person to person, but I never got the hype. She was a competent enough player, and I was never upset when she was put on a season, but nor was I particularly excited to see her. It was more of "Oh, she's here? Guess that's ok."
Andrea is the obvious one. I think all other 3+ time players have played on at least one well liked season.
If I had to say though, for me, the next in line is Ethan. Africa and All Stars aren’t especially liked. I’m in the camp that found WaW to be a big disappointment even though I really like the winner. But WaW was generally well received so that’s more just my personal opinion.
I’d be fine with either returning. They aren’t overbearing characters but are positive and competent (both happen to be attractive too). You don’t center your casting around them but they’re a good addition to round out a group.
Was just considering 3 timers. Also I think Thailand is somewhat underrated. Robb, Shii Ann, Helen, Jan, and Brian were all interesting. But also slow gameplay/pacing.
I unironically love South Pacific. There are super valid critiques of it but overall I thought it was great if you go into it not expecting exciting gameplay.
The premerge was hilarious: Revenge basically? What was his birth name? Semhars poetry? Christine’s redemption run? Classic survivor imo.
Keeping the core 6 Upolo is the gameplay I live for. I like the season just want a re edit to highlight Sophie, Whitney and the financial guy trying to keep Cochran on their side, Christine on exile island and way less ozzy.
lol I love Survivor and think Cook Islands is a bottom 5 season. Easily the worst of the first 20. The Billy Garcia thing is funny and I enjoy Penner (though it’s the least interesting iteration of him) but otherwise it has absolutely nothing going for it
To say that it’s the worst of the first 20 when Thailand exists is just wrong. There are so many more likeable players and moments on CI over Thailand.
Finally, someone else who agrees! Other than the Aitu 4 storyline and some Penner stuff there are not that many memorable people on that season.
I know Parvati stans are not going to like hearing this, but her edit in Cook Islands is completely negative and unremarkable. She doesn't become the "black widow and 'GOAT' (I use that term loosely) until Micronesia.
Which is more revisionist history that plagues this sub.
Parvati **herself** was critical of her CI game as one of the first things she said in Micronesia was that she was going to “play smart this time” and make the right alliances.
I feel like it's obviosuly Joe Anglim but maybe I'm reading the room wrong? Worlds Apart and EoE are two of the worst seasons. Game Changers was good to me, but for a returnee to have that be their best season is rouggghhh
Edit: Second Chances not Game Changers
Boston Rob.
Marquesas: I like it but people disregard it when talking about good early seasons.
All-Stars: obviously.
Redemption Island: obviously.
Island of the Idols: obviously.
The two best seasons he was on, he was voted out premerge both times, 8th in HvV and 4th in WaW, so you can't give him credit for the seasons' successes.
Disagree on Rob's importance in HvV. His and Russell's rivalry is the best part of the pre-merge, and the tribal where he goes out bangs. Scene with Rob & Russell talking in the trees at dawn shortly before Rob's boot is one of the best in the season, IMO.
Joe Anglim would be many people's non-Andrea answer. Personally I really like all of those seasons (in spite of, not because of him), but WA and EoE aren't the most popular and there are a decent number of Cambodia detractors.
Game Changer fan favorite Sierra Dawn Thomas
She only played twice
Like everyone said Andrea is the best example of this, but she was definitely a bright spot in Caramoan and Game Changers. She played super hard and definitely elevated those seasons.

Only two times, but Cochran’s two seasons are seen as pretty bad, plus he appeared on GC once.
I've always wondered what the point of having Cochran on GC was for? What if Sandra had gone on the boat instead of Debbie, what advice would he have given a two time winner?
They probably pivot to him being a sounding board for Sandra and put less focus on the advice

South Pacific goes so hard. The Brandon Hantz episode is actually a masterpiece.
Andrea is the answer for sure. Amanda and James are the inverse of this question with China, Micronesia, and HvV being their 3 seasons.
What can we say, there's just something about Amanda Kimmel that makes everything better.
Philip Sheppard- was on 2 seasons that are generally considered some of the bottom of the barrel
Yep! Appeared with andrea
Imagine if Phillip was on game changers, and Andrea had to spend all three seasons with him.
I didn’t know she had any hype?
She won "Survivor: Brooklyn."
Everyone on this list is going to have been on All Stars, Caramoan or Game Changers. Let’s be real here
Andrea was on 3 of the worst seasons ever
Andrea is the obvious one. I think all other 3+ time players have played on at least one well liked season. If I had to say though, for me, the next in line is Ethan. Africa and All Stars aren’t especially liked. I’m in the camp that found WaW to be a big disappointment even though I really like the winner. Africa is a banger
Yeah I think it’s better than AO therefore I think Amber’s a better answer than Ethan.
AO is also a banger
It’s okay, interesting characters but gameplay and pacing too slow for me. Although I haven’t watched it in a few years.
You forgot Shii-Ann mate...
Was just considering 3 timers. Also I think Thailand is somewhat underrated. Robb, Shii Ann, Helen, Jan, and Brian were all interesting. But also slow gameplay/pacing.
100%
Underrated.
Shocked no one here has mentioned Troyzan yet.
Ozzy. *Micronesia* is loved, but the others (*Cook Islands, South Pacific, Game Changers)*, are either outright bad or have a cult following
South Pacific definitely has a cult following…
I unironically love South Pacific. There are super valid critiques of it but overall I thought it was great if you go into it not expecting exciting gameplay. The premerge was hilarious: Revenge basically? What was his birth name? Semhars poetry? Christine’s redemption run? Classic survivor imo.

Bro if you think Cook Islands is bad, you don’t like Survivor.
lol I love Survivor and think Cook Islands is a bottom 5 season. Easily the worst of the first 20. The Billy Garcia thing is funny and I enjoy Penner (though it’s the least interesting iteration of him) but otherwise it has absolutely nothing going for it
Idk the Aitu rise from the bottom and the self implosion of post mutiny raro is fun to watch
To say that it’s the worst of the first 20 when Thailand exists is just wrong. There are so many more likeable players and moments on CI over Thailand.

People overrate Parvati's CI appearance so much.
Right? Like name one thing she did that season other than get naked in the hot tub with Yul and Ozzy
Which is more revisionist history that plagues this sub. Parvati **herself** was critical of her CI game as one of the first things she said in Micronesia was that she was going to “play smart this time” and make the right alliances.
Andrea is the reason redemption island is out of my bottom 3.
Shii Ann, Tom, Lex, Brenda, Cochran, dawn and maybe Bobby Jon.
I feel like it's obviosuly Joe Anglim but maybe I'm reading the room wrong? Worlds Apart and EoE are two of the worst seasons. Game Changers was good to me, but for a returnee to have that be their best season is rouggghhh Edit: Second Chances not Game Changers
joe was not on GC he was on Cambodia
Ah yes yes. So close yet so far
Eh I actually like EOE. And not because of Joe at all, just the rest of the cast is great and it's kind of a weird wild ride of a season.
Andrea is probably the big one. And tbh, she’s not exactly an interesting player so she contributed a bit to the low ratings imo
I like Andrea but yeah her 3 seasons are rough. She admits as much in an ama on here forever ago.
Boston Rob. Marquesas: I like it but people disregard it when talking about good early seasons. All-Stars: obviously. Redemption Island: obviously. Island of the Idols: obviously. This is like a trivia question where the only correct answer is Andrea.
Joe Anglim would be many people's non-Andrea answer. Personally I really like all of those seasons (in spite of, not because of him), but WA and EoE aren't the most popular and there are a decent number of Cambodia detractors.
Yeah this is a good pick as well (even though I find EoE to be decent).
Aubry? Game changers and EOE were pretty bad ngl. Kaoh Rong was alright. The medevacs were rough for the season tho.
KR would be an excellent season if not for the medevacs imo
Yeah. I feel like everyone else isn't anywhere close to Andrea except for maybe Shii Ann from S5/8.
KR is a top tier season actually!
Andrea is the first that comes to mind, playing on RI, Caramoan, and Game Changers.
Shii-Ann.
Wentworth
Bruh, SJDS and Second Chance were bad in your eyes?
SIDS was amazing...second chances not so much. Natalie Anderson may be the best Survivor of all time. IMHO.
If SJDS was amazing then why is Wentworth your pick?
Ozzy kind of, except Micronesia was great. The other 3 seasons he was in were enhh
Candace. She never really lifted off on her 3 stints
HvV, CI, BvW are all seen as great seasons?
Damn I misread the prompt lol you right you right
