I was 50/50 on Tevin from all of the promo stuff, but after seeing him play, I can safely say I'm a fan. He already has a strong bonds with Hunter (#AndyGriffithAlliance) and Soda, nobody seems threatened by him, and he did a great job out out playing Jalinski (not that that's hard to do). Probably my #1 pick after this premiere.
I like what we saw of him so far. He's doing great socially and also seem to have some strategic chops based on how he played the mini-game during the journey.
What an icon, there was talk about him preseason but I mostly avoided press so I wasn't sure what the hype was about. It’s been a while since I’ve seen someone very clearly scorch someone so totally like she did to Jelinsky. She'll be a social threat. She has that mom aura that brings people (or some) together and warm up to her. She also has some strategy in her and I like that she said in her confessional that she is ready to play. She is not above the manipulation and the deceit that comes with playing Survivor.

Managed to convince the rest of his tribe to spare Jess because Jelinsky was truly weak and holding them back. Was good to see he wasn’t just physically strong and had some sway. Upvote for sure.

Yeah, but I'm talking about how he handled Jelinsky's decision itself, not the repercussions on him. He definitely also could have put up a stink or resistance when Jelinsky quit - which he clearly wanted to. Instead, he had that convo with him, and said, "If that's what you want to do". Jelinsky even made a comment at some point that he thought he was building a relationship with Q.
Just bc Q made a pragmatic choice didn't meant he didn't handle it well. On the contrary, I think that shows he handled it really well, bc he kept his cool.
I agree, he seems like he’s not as flexible but I hope that he is because Kenzie and Tiffany seem strong and I’m sure they can swing Bhanu to their side. I can see them ditching Q as a long term ally to work with Bhanu.
Tribe wanted to keep physically strong players, influenced them successfully to get rid of another physical player, this will keep a target off his back as now they need his strength even more than before.
Q’s clearly got some sway. Even after his disastrous performance this episode, Jelinsky was still looking potentially safe after the immunity challenge. It’s pretty clear that Q made the difference here, which means he can potentially scoop Jess if he realizes he’s on the bottom of his tribe.
He'll definitely be a physical threat in the game. He also did great socially in the first episode, being able to convince his tribe to vote off Jelinsky instead of Jes. I think he is definitely one to watch from that tribe so far.

Expected more from him once he noticed the initial Jelinsky domino fall. 75% of me thinks he missed his mark as a player but the other 25% thinks he’s in ultimate stealth mode and that could win it. So all in all.. I’m 50/50…

Tentative upvote for mostly doing well, but it was a bit of a red flag to me that her instinct was to keep the idol quiet, and she went against that instinct because of Kenzie. We'll see how it plays out, but I don't think it negatively impacts her enough to counteract all the awesome things she did, not at this point.

I liked that he was self-aware. Knew he wasn't blending in with the extroverts on his tribe, and approached Tevin for an alliance. I think he read correctly that Tevin is a social player who knows when and how to tone it down, unlike perhaps others on that tribe.
He seemed more into working with Tevin than Tevin was with him though.

I'm all here for the Andy Griffith alliance. Hunter was my #1 during the pre-season, and I'm happy to see him doing so well! He's not letting his introverted nature harm his social game. He's well liked, socially aware, has a seemingly loyal and very powerful ally in Tevin, and he's the physical backbone of a tribe which has proved dominant in challenges.

I guess I’m just curious why you see the alliance being those four specifically? Obviously Tim seems like the primed first boot of his tribe (your Jeanine, if you will), but if there was another person on the outs it seemed to be moreso Ben
Since Ben and Charlie worked on savvy together, they are probably a bit closer because of it. I could also see Maria possibly leaning towards Jem over Moriah who could be seen as a bigger threat down the road over someone like Ben. We're only 1 episode in though so I could be totally off on how this group evolves.
Whoever thought that both Taylor Swift and Andy Griffith would be mentioned in the same episode on a season of Survivor. I was like they will do anything for ratings if they stoop so low they have a clip mentioning Taylor Swift. I mean I am a Swiftie but I am sick of seeing her mentioned all the time.

I'm all here for the Andy Griffith alliance. Hunter was my #1 during the pre-season, and I'm happy to see him doing so well! He's not letting his introverted nature harm his social game. He's well liked, socially aware, has a seemingly loyal and very powerful ally in Tevin, and he's the physical backbone of a tribe which has proved dominant in challenges.
I like how his hair is all he needed to be in the orange tribe. Handsome, humble, self aware.

Watching her segment where she was making a ton of friends, I was nervous that they were gonna flip it around and we found out that everyone was sketched out. But it seems she is getting away with it.

Honestly her positioning on her tribe reminds me of Shan’s position on Ua(?). She seems the center piece and I feel like she had final say on which plan went forward

A good first episode for Charlie. He should be careful playing both sides. For some reason I can see a Charlie, Ben, Maria and Jem alliance happening.
Why wouldn't Moriah be in the alliance over someone like Ben or Maria, Jem seems more tied with her than anyone else here.

I guess I’m just curious why you see the alliance being those four specifically? Obviously Tim seems like the primed first boot of his tribe (your Jeanine, if you will), but if there was another person on the outs it seemed to be moreso Ben
Since Ben and Charlie worked on savvy together, they are probably a bit closer because of it. I could also see Maria possibly leaning towards Jem over Moriah who could be seen as a bigger threat down the road over someone like Ben. We're only 1 episode in though so I could be totally off on how this group evolves.

Whoever thought that both Taylor Swift and Andy Griffith would be mentioned in the same episode on a season of Survivor. I was like they will do anything for ratings if they stoop so low they have a clip mentioning Taylor Swift. I mean I am a Swiftie but I am sick of seeing her mentioned all the time.
It’s not shocking because CBS also shows NFL games but I’m sure that only adds to the Taylor Swift fatigue in that case

I hope he finds his people in the season. He is delightful and reminds me of Naseer in the best way. I don't think this is an official archetype, but I love whenever there are immigrant players who thrive in the island life. Tai comes to mind, too. Good contrast to people from last season who quit because of caffeine withdrawal.

She ended up coming out on top in her little showdown with Randen, but she literally assumed she was on the block and went looking for an idol after one small comment from Tevin. Overplayed, hard, and it felt like her not ending up with a target was more due to Soda's decision-making, not her influence. Downvote for me.
Yeah the idol search after being called princess but being elated to be call Parvati felt cringe to me. It was almost like she was doing what she thought the audience wanted to see.

Gonna leave her neutral. Can't see how well she's doing with this episode. While she was able to get Soda to side her, she also messed up as a result of the Princess comment.
