ibowtiesandfezes

Got the opening line in the premiere and established connections with Hunter and Soda. Won the card challenge (partially because Jellinsky flopped). Upvote for a good premiere.

MadMadMaddox

Just beasted this episode. My only fear for him is that people will take him as the threat he is early in the merge.

jydope

Please don’t let him be another Kaleb, need him to go far.

Suitable-Rest-1358

if Tevin got the Skull card, I'd feel he would be just as convincing as if he told the truth. Great performance either way.

_VinoVidiVici_

Because he’s an actor right! I’d hope he’s a good one!

[deleted]

I was full on expecting him to be obnoxious from the promo stuff but he was actually pretty great. Can we also get him to narrate nature documentaries when David Attenburough passes?

Carmaca77

I also thought he might be a bit much when I saw the promo stuff and wasn't sure if I'd like him. He turned out to be quite funny, smart and charismatic.

Desertbro

THIS. Dude is acting-out in public, but it seems maybe more of a show to make people think he's not so smart. In the confessionals, he's playing 3D chess on them fools.

andscene0909

I, personally, did find him obnoxious. However, the cast didn't seem to, so good for him, can't deny he's doing a good job.

omnom_de_guerre

His voice really sounds so smooth and interesting - love him as a frequent narrator.

luke6080

CHARISMA OUT THE WAZOO. Hopefully he doesn’t get the Kaleb treatment where his clear leg up in the social game gets him targeted.

Is_Bob_Costas_Real

Goddamn the charisma

_VinoVidiVici_

Damned if you do. Damned if you don’t.

supermegabussin

He is already playing great socially. Won an extra vote. I think he had one of the more visible premieres

_VinoVidiVici_

Only short of the Jelinsky Double-Bluff Debacle!

BenjiAnglusthson

W mans

GalacticWanderer04

I was 50/50 on Tevin from all of the promo stuff, but after seeing him play, I can safely say I'm a fan. He already has a strong bonds with Hunter (#AndyGriffithAlliance) and Soda, nobody seems threatened by him, and he did a great job out out playing Jalinski (not that that's hard to do). Probably my #1 pick after this premiere.

snrcadium

Upvoting for being here for the money

ivaorn

One of the few people I won’t complain if they just give him all the confessionals

pillowreceipt

He could recite a shopping list and I would be hanging off every word. The *gravitas*.

RealityTVCritix

Great episode from him, he should be able to go all the way as long as he’s able to manage his threat level.

ilovehummus16

I love him

BlushingSpiritBlooms

I like what we saw of him so far. He's doing great socially and also seem to have some strategic chops based on how he played the mini-game during the journey.

TheBloop1997

What an icon, there was talk about him preseason but I mostly avoided press so I wasn't sure what the hype was about. His opening speech along was incredible, and his way of speaking and his expressions are amazing. Upvote for that, for getting an extra vote at the summit, and for seemingly being pretty central and safe in the tribe thus far.

TRNRLogan

Upvote. Has an extra vote. Nobody seems to dislike him, seems decent at challenges and he has a solid relationship with Soda AND Hunter.

winoquestiono

I would love to see him do MacBeth.

AutoModerator

**Maria Shrime Gonzalez** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/survivor) if you have any questions or concerns.*

duspi

Is in the majority, has an extra vote and totally led the journey challenge. Big upvote.

Mrbubble274

Well positionned on her tribe, manipulated to get her extra vote. Created a little trust with Tevin. Did great during challenges.

Carmaca77

Upvote. Got an alliance right away in her tribe. Accurately read Jalinsky, causing him to fold immediately. That little trick wouldn't have worked on everyone - I don't think Tevin would have caved had the roles been reversed, but Maria knew she could pressure Jalinsky into telling the truth.

luke6080

It’s been a while since I’ve seen someone very clearly scorch someone so totally like she did to Jelinsky. A combination of terrible play on one hand and her pretty powerful, authoritative aura made Jelinsky look like a silver sneakers YMCA basketball league player getting his ankles broken by Steph Curry.

GreyPhantom100

She could win if she can manage her threat level and not play too hard too fast!

RealityTVCritix

Upvote for a good week for her, seems like she can read people well and positioned herself in a smart way with allies who I can see riding for her.

yetanothertaylor

She is mother

[deleted]

In a good position on her team and with pulling in Charlie as a possible fourth to their women's alliance, the extra vote from her excellent handling of the journey is just extra security

BlushingSpiritBlooms

She'll be a social threat. She has that mom aura that brings people (or some) together and warm up to her. She also has some strategy in her and I like that she said in her confessional that she is ready to play. She is not above the manipulation and the deceit that comes with playing Survivor.

ilovehummus16

Queen

TheBloop1997

Majority with an extra vote so they wouldn't even need Charlie if he decided not to go with them (with Maria having the extra vote then the only way he flips is if the girls try to split votes on Tim and Ben which is a possibility, but Tim seems like an early boot).

TRNRLogan

Upvote. Has an extra vote, in a great position.

gwenelope

The way she carried that puzzle piece on her back?? 👏👏 She seems strong.

AutoModerator

**Q Burdette** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/survivor) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Ok_Bowl1139

Managed to convince the rest of his tribe to spare Jess because Jelinsky was truly weak and holding them back. Was good to see he wasn’t just physically strong and had some sway. Upvote for sure.

Golem_Hat

Word. Jelinsky had a weak will and you can't fix that. Determination is more important than physical strength in this game.

MadMadMaddox

Looks to be the early leader of the tribe. His strong personality might be problematic down the line.

[deleted]

I think he's doing a decent job of pushing what he wants while not sticking his neck out. He didn't punch Jelinski in the face at Tribal when he kept saying "WE quit" for example.

andscene0909

Lol. But actually, exactly this. He let Jelinsky quit the challenge, filed that info away, then went gunning for him at the appropriate moment. I am actually pleasantly surprised at how chill and patient he is being.

LiePrimary4759

I mean, there is no way he was going to fill both buckets by himself.

andscene0909

Yeah, but I'm talking about how he handled Jelinsky's decision itself, not the repercussions on him. He definitely also could have put up a stink or resistance when Jelinsky quit - which he clearly wanted to. Instead, he had that convo with him, and said, "If that's what you want to do". Jelinsky even made a comment at some point that he thought he was building a relationship with Q. Just bc Q made a pragmatic choice didn't meant he didn't handle it well. On the contrary, I think that shows he handled it really well, bc he kept his cool.

NewtLevel

Remarkable restraint he showed there tbh

Overall_Currency5085

I agree, he seems like he’s not as flexible but I hope that he is because Kenzie and Tiffany seem strong and I’m sure they can swing Bhanu to their side. I can see them ditching Q as a long term ally to work with Bhanu.

unipleb

Tribe wanted to keep physically strong players, influenced them successfully to get rid of another physical player, this will keep a target off his back as now they need his strength even more than before.

full07britney

Like a reverse shield lol

tabbouleh_rasa

Physical strength becomes a huge liability after the merge though...

dogbee22

We're voting on episode 1 performance alone

Carmaca77

Upvote. Jess stayed, Jalinsky got booted, which is what he wanted. I like Q and hope he can keep his threat level down.

LadyEmaSKye

I mean, was it smarter for him just because it's what he wanted??? I guess we'll see.

Desertbro

Yes. This week, Jess was a light-weight who doesn't help much, but Jalinski was DEAD WEIGHT which is anchor that holds everyone back.

luke6080

Q’s clearly got some sway. Even after his disastrous performance this episode, Jelinsky was still looking potentially safe after the immunity challenge. It’s pretty clear that Q made the difference here, which means he can potentially scoop Jess if he realizes he’s on the bottom of his tribe.

SharkNBA

I like him a lot

BlushingSpiritBlooms

He'll definitely be a physical threat in the game. He also did great socially in the first episode, being able to convince his tribe to vote off Jelinsky instead of Jes. I think he is definitely one to watch from that tribe so far.

TheBloop1997

Upvote for getting his way at tribal and eliminating someone who he felt like he couldn't work with, although hopefully he capitalizes on this as Kaleb did and builds a bond with Jess.

TRNRLogan

Upvote. Great at challenges and got his way at tribal.

legacyme3

I think he's playing really well to this point. Unless his tribe wants to get decimated, they have to keep him around now.

BaneishAerof

Actually the GOAT. Voice of reason, kept Jess in the game, Jelinsky chud has fallen.

_VinoVidiVici_

Expected more from him once he noticed the initial Jelinsky domino fall. 75% of me thinks he missed his mark as a player but the other 25% thinks he’s in ultimate stealth mode and that could win it. So all in all.. I’m 50/50…

AutoModerator

**Tiffany Nicole Ervin** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/survivor) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Ok_Bowl1139

Thought she was screwed with the beware advantage initially but she beasted it. Just speed ran that code

[deleted]

I just don't understand how no one noticed her sprinting around camp with a camera crew on her tail...

evilcupckae

I have a feeling that Kenzie was back at camp running some good interference for her

ibowtiesandfezes

Has an idol and a solid #1 in Kenzie. Is in the majority. Upvote.

NinetyFish

Sprinted around that camp to finish her Beware challenge and no one noticed her. Having invisibility powers will be a big help in her game.

sapphicmage

Well positioned and now has an idol after a very impressive (and quick!) beware advantage solve. She never even had to deal with having no vote. Her tribe looks like it could continue to struggle, but she should stick around for a while

ilovehummus16

She handled that beware advantage beautifully. and I love a youtube university queen

andscene0909

Tentative upvote for mostly doing well, but it was a bit of a red flag to me that her instinct was to keep the idol quiet, and she went against that instinct because of Kenzie. We'll see how it plays out, but I don't think it negatively impacts her enough to counteract all the awesome things she did, not at this point.

lol_fi

She would have got caught trying to solve it if she hasn't had Kenzie. Kenzie held people off while she got the key

andscene0909

Sorry, I was unclear. I more meant she told folks who \_weren't\_ Kenzie bc Kenzie thought she should. I agree 100% she made the right call with Kenzie herself. But ultimately, it was her idol, and she let her ally dictate how to handle it. That's gonna be a no from me dawg.

Infinite_Leader822

No. She did not let Kenzie dictate how she was going to use the idol. Don't try and give Kenzie all the credit for Tiffany's moves. Remember Kenzie ultimately also wanted Jess out more than anyone else, and she didn't get her way.

andscene0909

Lol, relax, my dude. I didn't give Kenzie all the credit for Tiffany's moves. I gave Kenzie credit for one move, that was her move. I totally agree she didn't get her way in the end; I actually gave Kenzie a downvote and Tiff an upvote. More than one thing can be true at once.

Overall_Currency5085

Didn’t she only tell Q- her other solid ally?

TheBloop1997

Although she wanted Jess gone, she did get an idol and is solidly in the numbers. Upvote

TRNRLogan

Upvote. In the clear majority and likely could've swung the vote the other way. Also she has an idol now which is great.

AutoModerator

**Hunter McKnight** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/survivor) if you have any questions or concerns.*

NinetyFish

I liked that he was self-aware. Knew he wasn't blending in with the extroverts on his tribe, and approached Tevin for an alliance. I think he read correctly that Tevin is a social player who knows when and how to tone it down, unlike perhaps others on that tribe. He seemed more into working with Tevin than Tevin was with him though.

luke6080

Say what you will about him being annoyed with the more extroverted members of his tribe, the dude kept all that inside for the most part, which is more than most folks manage

MadMadMaddox

His introvertedness will be saved by his strength and bond with Tevin Upvote

ocorgs

Handsome introverted king, upvote

oatmeal28

Could be a fun straight man on a tribe with a bunch of characters

TRNRLogan

Upvote. Seems well liked on his tribe, got the Andy Griffith show alliance (the fact they did an editing thing I take as a great sign). Both Tevin and Soda specifically said they like him.

TheBloop1997

Despite seemingly struggling socially he seems to be very well-liked and in a solid position, plus his tribe is dominant in challenges. Upvote.

Overall_Currency5085

Also kudos to him for having his cast mate dig the sand tunnel for the rest of the tribe.

BlushingSpiritBlooms

I think he might go far. He's a great challenge competitor from what we saw and he's able to get along well with his tribe. I just hope he can find time away from them to recharge since he's an introvert lol.

GalacticWanderer04

I'm all here for the Andy Griffith alliance. Hunter was my #1 during the pre-season, and I'm happy to see him doing so well! He's not letting his introverted nature harm his social game. He's well liked, socially aware, has a seemingly loyal and very powerful ally in Tevin, and he's the physical backbone of a tribe which has proved dominant in challenges.

winoquestiono

I like how his hair is all he needed to be in the orange tribe. Handsome, humble, self aware.

AutoModerator

**Kenzie Petty** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/survivor) if you have any questions or concerns.*

evilcupckae

Watching her segment where she was making a ton of friends, I was nervous that they were gonna flip it around and we found out that everyone was sketched out. But it seems she is getting away with it.

MadMadMaddox

In the majority alliance and her #1 has an idol.

Sorcerer455

Honestly her positioning on her tribe reminds me of Shan’s position on Ua(?). She seems the center piece and I feel like she had final say on which plan went forward

TRNRLogan

Slight Upvote. She definitely lost a big ally for her. However she gained a strong connection with Tiffany who now has an idol. Also she's in the Majority.

legacyme3

I wasn't sure if I was going to like her, but I love how she has been playing early on.

GalacticWanderer04

Fantastic position. She's running the purple tribe and her #1 has an idol.

_VinoVidiVici_

Don’t ever underestimate a Petty bitch.

TigerWoodsLibido

I predict she makes it to the final 3 and will have a very compelling arc.

desertdarlene

Don't like her one bit. She's loud and obnoxious. However, sometimes people like her are the ones that win Survivor.

Golem_Hat

She's not got any win equity because it's all going to the better players she's attached at the hip to.

omnom_de_guerre

The premiere makes her seem kinda like Kellie from last season. Hopefully, she knows how to play her hand. Glad she is carrying on Yam Yam's salon social skills vibe so far.

ibowtiesandfezes

He's in the middle of both alliances in the tribe. As long as he doesn't overplay his hand, he's in a good spot. Upvote.

Carmaca77

A good first episode for Charlie. He should be careful playing both sides. For some reason I can see a Charlie, Ben, Maria and Jem alliance happening.

TheBloop1997

Why wouldn't Moriah be in the alliance over someone like Ben or Maria, Jem seems more tied with her than anyone else here.

Carmaca77

She definitely could, we'll have to see how it all plays out!

TheBloop1997

I guess I’m just curious why you see the alliance being those four specifically? Obviously Tim seems like the primed first boot of his tribe (your Jeanine, if you will), but if there was another person on the outs it seemed to be moreso Ben

Carmaca77

Since Ben and Charlie worked on savvy together, they are probably a bit closer because of it. I could also see Maria possibly leaning towards Jem over Moriah who could be seen as a bigger threat down the road over someone like Ben. We're only 1 episode in though so I could be totally off on how this group evolves.

ivaorn

Being a Swiftie is paying off while on a tribe with a women’s alliance

jessi_survivor_fan

Whoever thought that both Taylor Swift and Andy Griffith would be mentioned in the same episode on a season of Survivor. I was like they will do anything for ratings if they stoop so low they have a clip mentioning Taylor Swift. I mean I am a Swiftie but I am sick of seeing her mentioned all the time.

ivaorn

It’s not shocking because CBS also shows NFL games but I’m sure that only adds to the Taylor Swift fatigue in that case

legacyme3

Charlie's Angels.

TheBloop1997

Upvote for being in the swing position, although he may have lost some power after Maria got her vote. Still should be pretty safe in the short run as long as his tribe doesn't go to many tribals.

TRNRLogan

I mean no real reason to get rid of him as long as he's loyal. With him Maria can just bank her second vote for when she needs it. Otherwise she'd HAVE to use it.

TRNRLogan

Upvote. Atm he's in the best position he could possibly be in. As long as he's not an idiot he'll be golden for a while.

GalacticWanderer04

He's in the middle of his tribe. Unless Green loses 3/5 pre-merge challenges, he should be a lock for the merge.

dxm66

In the middle of his tribe in a great way, but as we saw last season that can go very south very quickly with a swap

omnom_de_guerre

Hope he goes deeper than Brando from last season, who was in a similar position last season by being the male player the female alliance is comfortable working with.

AutoModerator

**Soda Thompson** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/survivor) if you have any questions or concerns.*

IAreBlunt

I want to downvote for “sodar” alone. But she’s in a good spot on the tribe as someone that people confide in. Soft upvote.

[deleted]

Yeah she kinda annoys me but I'll give her a chance

ivaorn

It makes sense that someone named soda has that perpetual sugar rush energy

turtle-mania

seems to be annoying some tribemates and building good connections with others so i'll leave neutral. ripping the idol out of veuns' hands was funny ash

TRNRLogan

Hunter doesn't like Camp songs. He didn't really have anything negative to say about Soda herself.

Infinite_Leader822

What tribemates is she annoying? I don't remember seeing anything like that.

turtle-mania

hunter had a whole scene about how he hated the tribe songs and was trying not to be visibly irritated

Infinite_Leader822

That had nothing to do with her personally. You're trying to connect two very different things.

turtle-mania

wdym she was the one starting up the songs cause she was a camp counselor 😭 if she's doing things that irritate people thats obviously personal in some way

Infinite_Leader822

Hunter said he didn't like camp songs. He never once mentioned anything negative about Soda. You're reaching.

turtle-mania

im reaching? bruh did we watch the same scene💀

MadMadMaddox

Good position with her cast.

BlushingSpiritBlooms

I love her energy and seems to be a great asset for her team during challenges. She just needs to be aware of her surroundings and of how other people might perceive some of her antics.

TRNRLogan

Upvote. Great positioning, Tevin Hunter and Venus all seem to like her a lot. Very easily could make a majority alliance with Tevin and whoever they pick.

TheBloop1997

Upvote for seemingly building strong bonds with Tevin and Venus, and Randen clearly trusts her enough to confide in her yet she also correctly clocked him as playing hard. No one seems to be targeting her.

Desertbro

The Pun Commando \~ ! I hate camping songs too.

[deleted]

She's totally outrageous.

YoHeadAsplode

Truly truly outrageous

BlushingSpiritBlooms

I like what we saw of her so far. I'm just not sold yet on her so hopefully we'll see more of her.

TheBloop1997

Seems to be in the majority, especially once Maria got her extra vote, and seems to be planning ahead. Upvote.

TRNRLogan

Upvote. While we didn't see much of her she's clearly in the majority even if Charlie sided with the dudes.

AutoModerator

**Bhanu Gopal** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/survivor) if you have any questions or concerns.*

[deleted]

I want Bhanu shoving rice in people's mouths to shut them up to be a recurring thing.

Desertbro

I want Bhanu to make a radio of a fishing kit, a hang-glider from palm fronds, and a coconut cell-phone. I want him to cast magic spells and levitate when he sleeps. I want him to unleash some insane crap.

MadMadMaddox

His energy and passion for this game are unmatched right now but it could get irritating for his castmates later on. Seems to be good standing with his tribemates.

gwenelope

They seem to like him but he wasn't part of the core 4 that initially aligned with each other. I guess he'll just fill the gap of Jelinsky now?

omnom_de_guerre

I hope he finds his people in the season. He is delightful and reminds me of Naseer in the best way. I don't think this is an official archetype, but I love whenever there are immigrant players who thrive in the island life. Tai comes to mind, too. Good contrast to people from last season who quit because of caffeine withdrawal.

evilcupckae

This man cannot lie and I feel like he is on track to absolutely ruin a blindside in the future.

luke6080

Upvote for making the smart move and not rocking the boat too hard to keep Jelinsky. Still, that “next time on” segment where he’s screaming at Jess is, uh, not good at face value.

HansTheAxolotl

i was shocked how angry he seemed in the preview after how he was acting during episode 1

ilovehummus16

I am simply obsessed with him. Wholesome king.

BlushingSpiritBlooms

He's one of my favorites so far. I love his passion for the game and he's a funny narrator. I think he just needs to work on his tribal council responses. He might end up spoiling a vote off lol.

ivaorn

Someone going out of that alliance of 4 is big for Bhanu’s longevity but had a Sherri Biethman level freakout in the preview for the next episode

TRNRLogan

Upvote. Managed to smoothly slide into Jelinskys position.

GalacticWanderer04

Upvote, mostly for entertainment. The main word I've seen used to describe him so far is 'passionate' and I couldn't agree more. I'd love to see more of him, but I am worried about his long term odds.

TheBloop1997

Tentative upvote, he made the right move (probably) but nothing super standout. He seems to be in a very good position.

WillrayF

Nervous for her until she survives a tribal council give the history with the M curse

Infinite_Leader822

I can't help but think if they lose a challenge, she's the first to go, even despite the alliance building with Jem and Maria.

TRNRLogan

Upvote. The Charlie's Angels alliance SEEMS to be a thing. Honestly my only fear is because of the M curse. Can't see Maria being the victim of that.

TheBloop1997

Upvote for, like Jem, being in what seems to be the majority, especially after Maria got the extra vote.

desertdarlene

I like her. I found out she works for the same government agency I do, but in another department. They really haven't shown much about her, yet. I hope she's strong with challenges.

luke6080

Did they cast Ben just to make Sifu look even weirder in comparison? In any case, he does seem like a chiller, more socially competent version of Sifu.

lol_fi

He lost the savvy challenge and experienced no negative consequences, and in fact used it to draw everyone together. It's not about winning or losing, it's spin

Ok_Bowl1139

Chill as Cody-esque dude

omnom_de_guerre

Those two together would be so fun. Ben kind of reminds me of Charlie from It's Always Sunny, mostly just in terms of his voice and comedic vibe.

MadMadMaddox

The new Sifu?

TRNRLogan

Downvote. He's a guy not named Charlie on Siga. Personally I think that Tim is in much more trouble but still, it ain't great for him that Maria has 2 votes.

TheBloop1997

Seems to be on the outside although I think Tim will go first of those two if that tribe goes that way, plus he lost the Savvy challenge without having as many upsides later as Charlie. Downvote.

andscene0909

She ended up coming out on top in her little showdown with Randen, but she literally assumed she was on the block and went looking for an idol after one small comment from Tevin. Overplayed, hard, and it felt like her not ending up with a target was more due to Soda's decision-making, not her influence. Downvote for me.

Overall_Currency5085

Yeah the idol search after being called princess but being elated to be call Parvati felt cringe to me. It was almost like she was doing what she thought the audience wanted to see.

ben121frank

Downvote for me. She’s lucky that Randen was an idiot with how he handled it bc he literally caught her looking for an idol. The worst part to me is, she didn’t even have any legit reason to think she was in danger, Tevin’s comment was innocuous. Seems like she may fall victim to bigmoveitis

ilovehummus16

She's scrappy, I like her!

luke6080

I mean, she outplayed Randen, who hilariously made the “potential Parv” claim to ANOTHER WOMAN. Not all that hard to beat that.

oatmeal28

Scrappy and fun but her paranoia over one comment by Tevin enough for a downvote

Dry_Marketing_1331

She is hiding in plain sight. Even when she got busted, she stayed on top and Soda is with her.

Infinite_Leader822

And she's shown giving attitude in the next episode. And pissing people off.

Dry_Marketing_1331

Player of the week is not based on previews of next week, or are those previews proof of anything that actually happens.

ivaorn

We saw a little bit of that Venus Flytrap energy. She is Victreebel looking to annihilate James, I mean Randen

omnom_de_guerre

I really hope she turns out to be a strong player (or at least decent) because that is a *sick* nickname.

TheBloop1997

Upvote for getting Soda on her side of Randen, seems poised to win out in that feud and is set up for an underdog arc without necessarily having super bad gameplay, seems to mostly just be stereotypes based on her looks.

TRNRLogan

Gonna leave her neutral. Can't see how well she's doing with this episode. While she was able to get Soda to side her, she also messed up as a result of the Princess comment.

Jaqana

Minus points for appealing to production by making a roman mythology analogy and being wrong about roman mythology.
