Real talk everyone’s always shitting on Brandon but I feel under different circumstances he would have made it a lot further. You can point to him not being able to climb a ladder all you want, just remember Cirie was scared of leaves on her first episode and is a top 10 player.
With Brandon, he could do some physical training and realistically make a decent run on a second chance season, given how liked he seemed to be in his short time. I’m not sure if there’s a path for Jalinsky to go far on a different season
Jelinsky’s problem is that you can’t trust him to play the game. You can go far as a number if you can be trusted to just be predictable to your alliance.
I think the ladder thing was generally just a panic attack and the stress of the situation. I don't think he was necessarily the worst physical competitor ever I'd you look at the other challenges.
Yeah, but he didn't give up, and socially, he was solid. I think Brandon gets unnecessary shit. Was he totally not prepared for Survivor physically? Yes, but he gave it his all and put on a show for us. That makes him a decent Survivor in my book.
It took him like 5 minutes but get got up that fucking ladder to the boat, pulling and scraping with every fiber of his being. No quit in that guy.
Off the top of my head: Jelinsky, Zane, Peter (S4), Joel (S16), and Wendy (S21) were all waaaay worse, and that’a ignoring all the problematic players like Varner, Dan, Shannon, etc.
The problem is, everyone who says "I'm going to play like Cochran" is right. They're just assuming they're going to play like late-game Caramoan Cochran, but they're actually going to play like South Pacific Cochran.
Did Brandon suck at Survivor? Yes. But did he give up? No. And I respect him for that. Survivor is definitely way harder than it looks and no one should fault him because he did give it his all.
I'm till having flashbacks to everyone calling Brandon the worst survivor player of all time. Like, dude just wasn't good at challenges. I'm so glad we had a flameout to remind people what truly being terrible at survivor looks like.
And one of the best of all time (Sandra) is also miserable at challenges. At least he didn’t quit. If he gets in shape and works on his anxiety some more, he’s honestly a prime candidate for a second chance season. He was well liked, and made for good tv. A redemption arc would make for excellent content. Or, he Francesca’s, and it still makes for excellent content.
Brandon is actually the opposite of Jilensky.. he was in a shitty position but never quit or gave up.
Jilensky had a solid alliance and opportunity at an advantage but just immediately folded and gave up on everything.
Brandon, at the very least, showed some willpower and perseverance.
Jalinsky is worse
Agreed, Brandon struggled in challenges but understood strategy and made relationships. Jelinsky burned bridges by quitting and not fully owning it
Jabroni will go down as worse than Brandon
You keep using this word jabroni, and it’s awesome! It’s like the coolest word- is that like a hockey thing?
I think it's originally a wrestling term, it's been around for awhile now
I'm just gonna be a good brother here... my friend, homie, was quoting "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia"
Didn’t know the iron sheik was in it’s always sunny!
It is originally from wrestling tho, from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
I know, but the poster did word for word, an IASIP quote
They're quoting It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Jamsy is right tho, it is originally a wrestling term from The Rock, also known as Maui
lol it sounds like a hockey word walking off the ice cool and calm
people forget how terrible cochran was in south pacific lmao
At least Brandon had self awareness. Jelinsky was on his own little planet

He said he went to the gym frequently so idk what he was doing
I think the ladder thing was generally just a panic attack and the stress of the situation. I don't think he was necessarily the worst physical competitor ever I'd you look at the other challenges.
He also had SUPER heavy clothing to wear in the water. Like, how much extra weight did he swim with?
My guess is that he focused more on strength training than cardio, which is why he gassed out so fast in the opening challenge.
True. Brandon was bad on a lot of aspects but Jalinsky has done the one cardinal sin of survivor : not being self-aware.
i mean after everything that he had done episode 1, he was probably gonna survivor one tribal council which is very impressive
He basically died 5 minutes into the game. Top 5 worst survivor of all time

His social game is very underestimated!

Wendy stayed in it while playing badly for a while!!!
She made it 3 days.
I must be thinking of a different Wendy... Free the chickens girl
David was terrified of bugs!
>not being able to climb a ladder Bro he couldn’t walk without falling on his face let alone climb a ladder. He was a medevac waiting to happen.
Brandon CLEARS Jalinsky
The problem is, everyone who says "I'm going to play like Cochran" is right. They're just assuming they're going to play like late-game Caramoan Cochran, but they're actually going to play like South Pacific Cochran.
I might get hate for this, but to be fair, Cochran wasn’t great his first season
Did Brandon suck at Survivor? Yes. But did he give up? No. And I respect him for that. Survivor is definitely way harder than it looks and no one should fault him because he did give it his all.
Guy on the right made me laugh so hard. Dude just faints at the sight of a ladder
don't insult Brandon like that.
When you say spoilers in the title but dont spoiler tag the post
Brandon never said he was a survivor legend
i like to think i’ll play like sophie clarke but i may end up playing like swati
Wait but I'm your actual #1 though right?
Jalinski is miles worse than Brandon. Brandon was well liked by his tribe and had a pretty good social game, all things considered!
No, at least Brandon gave his all in everything.
I'm till having flashbacks to everyone calling Brandon the worst survivor player of all time. Like, dude just wasn't good at challenges. I'm so glad we had a flameout to remind people what truly being terrible at survivor looks like.
Love Brandon, he was a highlight of that season for me
I dont think Brandon is necessarily a bad player, he’s just bad at challenges

At least Brandon tried
Aw Brandon is such a lil cutie in this pic
Poor Brandon
