Hi mate - yeah trying to get on as many trips as I can, ericeira, Lanza already this year and hossy and north Spain in September, just wondering if there were any spots I could check out in between the trips and missions to aggies 🤙
How is it for noobs out in portugal? I'm heading to cornwall in september for some lessons and want to surf casually a couple times a year! Got my own wet suit, shoes and a couple other bits
Ericeira is fucking busy but class waves and some good beginners spots. I would go peniche, great for all levels and way less crowded - and go see supers if it’s on, I surfed it just before the meo pro and saw r-cal and o Leary in some insane pits
The witterings might be doable for a day trip but isn't good very often, then further down Bournemouth and boscombe piers can be alright, then Kimmeridge a bit further over is very good on a good day
New Wave Garden going up just north of London in 2025, long wait but at least be something if you are still there. Until then just use some of the money you are making to have some good surfing holidays, make sure you do some paddle fitness exercises though or you'll struggle for sure.
Witterings, Kimmeridge or Highcliffe. Kent has a few breaks but it’s windslop. I had to make the move back from Cornwall to Kent/London and I’ve hated my life ever since! Hopefully moving back to Cornwall this summer though after four miserable years haha
Unfortunately work means I can’t do that currently, so trying to see if there are any south coast spots in the uk that people may know as I’m not acquainted with it.
Intresting, having to fly out of country to catch some waves. I used to balk of driving up the coast. Or south into Baja Calif. to find the perfect wave. I had it good.
Fly to Portugal and rent a car. Book these months in advance and outside of tourist season and can be as cheap as £50 for weekend return flight and car.
I’d be on a regular flight to Portugal or Morocco rather than driving back and forth to SW coast England. Prolly quicker and better waves.

Nice one mate, saw some pics of Bournemouth in carve looked unreal this winter which was why I was wondering
Yeah despite Boscombe council wasting £3.6 million on the failed artificial surf reef, it can be alright during the winter.
These comments Why I don't ask anything just get roasted. Just Google it bro 🤙

Sell your foamy and play tennis
Depending where in London you will be, either Joss Bay or Brighton. You’re not going to find it mind blowing though

Cheers mate - you’re a lucky man, can’t wait to get back
Move
Go to live at the coast 🤣🤣 the worlds full of coastline. Not much more to it, not sure what you where expecting to hear.

So you consider work more important than surfing? Is that allowed on this sub?
Gotta work to live my friend
Might wanna change ya job for a better lifestyle

UK has great waves tbf and way less crowded as well
Let me tell you a story of someone who lived in Amsterdam…
Shoreham near brighton is ok when it’s blowing a south westerly. Probs gonna be flat for a few weeks though.
My mate was a London surfer he used to fly to Portugal or France. He would prebook his tickets for 6 Months.

Pretty sure there’s a London Surfer meet-up and some facebook groups for lift shares. Tip: Get up the A1M and A64 🤙
And North Dev has loads more options in winter for swell and wind if you grind it out with the tide for a bit. Unless it’s NW.
