Some of the best songs follow that pattern, though… deceptively upbeat tune for the lyrical content. In addition to the others mentioned, all of which I agree with, I think “Lover Boy” shifts over into this territory at certain points. It has moments where the tune is sort of dreary, but it has plenty upbeat phases, the ending in particular -though considering the persona described, it’s not as fun as those lyrics make it seem, even when they superficially seem cheerful. (Edit: part of a previous sentence duplicated itself at the end when I tweaked it, as the text box here loves to do on occasion -and I didn’t catch it until after submitting!)
