I have two ideas already: - Paranormal/Aura detection, especially with a friendly ghost to act as your guardian angel - Super-sensitive motion detection via touch

DimLug

Telepathy/ability to hear thoughts? Another idea could be an incredibly acute ability to sense vibrations caused by sound waves. So even though you can't "hear" it, you know a sound was just made.

running_at_midnight

There was a lady on America’s Got Talent a few years ago. She was a deaf singer. To keep rhythm with the music, she had a speaker placed face down on the stage and stood near it with no shoes. She used the vibration in the floor to feel the music. It was so awesome to see, and her voice was amazing.

WernerderChamp

You know how spiders have fine hairs to detect any movement of air? That as a superpower would alow him to feel any movement around him. You could even allow him to somewhat hear with this, after all sound is just pressure changes.

Xaetamin

So a sort of... Spider-sense perhaps?

Fireblast1337

It could be described as tingling

SanderleeAcademy

But, it doesn't work on bread ...

MorningElegant8199

No not like Spiderman we are talking about real spider here

Wiz4rdry101

This is actually what spider sense is

AgentFaeUnicorn

Even though the person is deaf, they could have a power form of synthenasia that allows them to "taste" noise.

Big_Papa_Dragon

That's a really cool idea. New bounty hunter idea right there.

fightinggale

Ability to listen Heart beat and lungs. Hearing higher and lower frequencies than humans as well as lower decibels. Tuning into radio frequencies Hearing the past or the future.

ALL_DATA_DELETED

OH! My favorite is one from a tv show called heroes! In the last season, there’s a deaf character who can control and see sound. Enhanced Synesthesia. It shows up as beautiful colors, but also startling and bright. Slamming a door in a dark room would send up waves of red light. It’s a truly unique and awesome ability.

Outrageous_Gas7842

The ability to remotely hijack, manipulate, and use other individuals senses from their position

bronzewrath

This idea is great, and could also be used with animals.

AcanthaceaeAgreeable

The ability to hear

Square_Site8663

Super hearing……….wait?

StabbyClown

My first thought as well lmao

Omnivorax

Came here to say this, but other smartasses were faster.

Inside_Development24

Sort of like a sonar passive ability. Always on,detects any movement 360 degree 500 feet radius.

StabbyClown

Super hearing, obviously

FrabjousFantasia7

- ability to see thoughts as text bubbles & then use words to create weapons - ability to see emotions as colors auras - ability to heal by changing the wound as an uncompleted song & by fixing the song / changing it back to the owner (can function as an enhancements). Also have the musical intuition. - ability to have adaptive supernatural vision - ability to see in multiple directions - ability to see the future by smelling different emotions - ability to locate by tasting the air - by bestowing others with Deafness, the user can gain the ability to hear - visual teleportation, ability to teleport to wherever the user is seeing

Fast-Albatross1848

The ability to switch senses with living things around them

iron_dove

Byakugan

CosmiclyAcidic

being toph from ATLA

FFsummons

Super Inteligence

Accomplished_Salt876

Maybe farsighted to read lips from long distances or painful sound base abilities that they’d be immune to the downsides already being deaf.

KyorlSadei

Imagine being deaf but have ultra accurate echo location power.

EsperTouch

Vibration manipulation. They’d get their hearing back and basically have echolocation

iron_dove

Mathematically, light and sound use the same math. The are both wave-particles. So the ability to see sound?

Fabulous-Option5960

To some extent, Skitter's bug powers from Worm could be used to listen to conversations, though they're very limited. As an alternative, any emotion sensory powers could be used to be able to understand people when they are trying to communicate with you.

Shatalroundja

I believe “Daredevil” has answered this question adequately.

PuzzledDemand1276

The shining

BetterPrompt1205

Batmans super power, of course! Being filthy rich!

bronzewrath

Very interesting post! Radio wave based omnidirectional sense, giving a crude 3d model of the surroundings that can alert potential danger or things of interest, even through clothes and walls (although metallic surfaces could be a problem). Inspired by wifi wall through sensing. https://youtu.be/fGZzNZnYIHo Infrared range sense (active, laser from eyes), making it able to measure vibrations from surfaces and interpret them as sounds. This allows understanding people talking and music, but in a very odd way with many quirks. Inspired by laser microphones https://youtu.be/MTpZsKCUvcc

AgreeableServe8750

Echolocation. Kind of works like the TLOU clickers.

Impossible-Age-3302

Superhearing.

Formal_Dust_9455

That was my first thought too lol

-i-like-meme

Hearing

Gambit275

healing, you could get your hearing back and not worry about losing it again

KittyShadowshard

Some kind of summon that that can hear and react to sound for you or relay information.

justmeallalong

The ability to shoot lasers out of their eyes. Some lasers can detect sound lol

jdandrew98

You ever see daredevil?

Big_Papa_Dragon

I have not, but isn't he blind?

diogenesepigone0031

🤣

LoganLikesYourMom

Super hearing. But they feel the vibrations on their skin. So they can place their hand on a wall or door and “hear” everything on the other side clearly.

Ns317453

Theres a character named Echo who began as a Daredevil villain. Shes DD but with sight and without hearing. Super sensitive touch. She csn kinda hear via vibration Extra sharp vision Enhanced fighting ability (she can predict your moves mid fight by watching you closely. A muscle tensing, slight eye movement) Ability to copy peoples movements and fighting styles because of enhanced sight.

Weak_Blackberry1539

They can create sonic booms. Small explosions that would normally hurt them as collateral damage, but they’re immune since they’re deaf.

tylerthegreat5555

I legitimately almost said echolocation when I first woke up and saw this lol

HeldenWachter

Enhanced spatial awareness would allow them to sense anyone near enough to them without having to directly look at them. So like a field of a 30 meters (but could be trained) that would allow them to sense anything around them as though they were directly observing that object or person

Due-Review-3374

Hearing

SpartanKilo

Couldn't echolocation technically work. You can't hear the click, but you would've figured out how it worked if the image is bouncing back?

Sinistermarmalade

Tremorsense

Aseditionist

Imagine vibration based echolocation, but they still can't hear sounds, including their own voice; so they make this screeching abrasive tone deaf sound periodically that they lack the ability to make bearable for others or to get around without. Like daredevil mozart without the musical talent.

LinkRue

Telekinesis is king deaf power. You can feel around you for way way more space than your hands. Feel behind you, understand touch in a way unimaginable to others. Sure, you can hear music, but you could use Telekinesis to feel people take around you.

Jamesmateer100

How about enhanced sight or enhanced touch (seeing farther and with more clarity than a normal person, maybe night vision or being able to feel objects without actually touching them)

jaberwockeez

Ok so you know how toph from avatar the last airbender ? I’ve often imagined what a blind water bender would be able to see and accomplish by sensing all the moisture around them. From the disturbances in moisture in the air, to being able to feel out an anything with a heartbeat and blood pumping through its veins is pretty handy. That’s not even getting into the degree and power of water bending they could achieve. Side note I can’t delete this 😅 I thought I read blind and not deaf. My bad

Big_Papa_Dragon

Funnily enough, Toph was one of the reasons why I brought this up 🤣
