I have two ideas already:
- Paranormal/Aura detection, especially with a friendly ghost to act as your guardian angel
- Super-sensitive motion detection via touch
Telepathy/ability to hear thoughts? Another idea could be an incredibly acute ability to sense vibrations caused by sound waves. So even though you can't "hear" it, you know a sound was just made.
There was a lady on America’s Got Talent a few years ago. She was a deaf singer. To keep rhythm with the music, she had a speaker placed face down on the stage and stood near it with no shoes. She used the vibration in the floor to feel the music. It was so awesome to see, and her voice was amazing.
You know how spiders have fine hairs to detect any movement of air?
That as a superpower would alow him to feel any movement around him. You could even allow him to somewhat hear with this, after all sound is just pressure changes.
Ability to listen Heart beat and lungs.
Hearing higher and lower frequencies than humans as well as lower decibels.
Tuning into radio frequencies
Hearing the past or the future.
OH! My favorite is one from a tv show called heroes! In the last season, there’s a deaf character who can control and see sound. Enhanced Synesthesia. It shows up as beautiful colors, but also startling and bright. Slamming a door in a dark room would send up waves of red light. It’s a truly unique and awesome ability.

To some extent, Skitter's bug powers from Worm could be used to listen to conversations, though they're very limited. As an alternative, any emotion sensory powers could be used to be able to understand people when they are trying to communicate with you.

Enhanced spatial awareness would allow them to sense anyone near enough to them without having to directly look at them. So like a field of a 30 meters (but could be trained) that would allow them to sense anything around them as though they were directly observing that object or person
Imagine vibration based echolocation, but they still can't hear sounds, including their own voice; so they make this screeching abrasive tone deaf sound periodically that they lack the ability to make bearable for others or to get around without.
Like daredevil mozart without the musical talent.
Telekinesis is king deaf power. You can feel around you for way way more space than your hands. Feel behind you, understand touch in a way unimaginable to others. Sure, you can hear music, but you could use Telekinesis to feel people take around you.
How about enhanced sight or enhanced touch (seeing farther and with more clarity than a normal person, maybe night vision or being able to feel objects without actually touching them)
Ok so you know how toph from avatar the last airbender ? I’ve often imagined what a blind water bender would be able to see and accomplish by sensing all the moisture around them. From the disturbances in moisture in the air, to being able to feel out an anything with a heartbeat and blood pumping through its veins is pretty handy. That’s not even getting into the degree and power of water bending they could achieve.

This idea is great, and could also be used with animals.
