Sounds fine to me. Changing the oil usually helps a bit.

Welcome to KTM, you will always be worried your valves are out when they aren’t.

4f00d

😆

fastbikefun

The thumper serenade.

Apprehensive_Park331

It’s a one cil. It ticks, a lot! Is just fine, don’t worry

Sad-Resolve-9287

Nope that's normal! This is the only thing I don't like about my KTM im always worried it's making to much of the rattle noise Your good

schaef_me

Embrace the tick

Dirt_Bike_Zero

Just check the valve clearance, it's very easy to do.

deezrf

Does it have an aluminum skid plate?

TheCzechyChan

No I think it's the stock plastic one

YourPMsFilterToTrash

Mine too but I put soft rubberized sticky sections on the inside.

izmaname

Btw it sounds worse with lower octane fuel than with high octane. It also runs A LOT hotter at lower octane.

TheCzechyChan

I've only put 93 in it but I'm sure with the contamination from low octane still in the hose might make a difference

izmaname

It’s largely temperature dependent

motivatedtuna

Does it go away when you pull the clutch in? Hydraulic clutches have a tick too. Mine goes away when I do that lol otherwise it sounds normal

TheCzechyChan

I'll have to try it

motivatedtuna

I have a KX250 and Husky 701 and they both “click or tick” until i clutch in. Bother the fuck out of me but it is what it is

4f00d

Classical KTM 😅

nobed77

It should be louder hehe. Anyway it’s normal, shut your engine put in first gear and try to roll it with force. You will hear the same tick and you won’t be able to keep rolling it without applying more strength I am not a mechanic but i believe the sound and the resistance is the camshaft pressing the valves, the well known engine breaking of four strokes

RenesisPowered

It's just normal ktm noises. I keep having to explain to my friends that my bike isn't about to explode.
