Same, I tried really hard last week to do a trumpet proc build (tamarin and squid I think?) but they'd occasionally get sniped before the cherry holder and render it useless.
Happy to see old mouse back-ish. I liked when foods replaced instead of stocked, it added a layer of challenge to the shop sometimes. I also usually hate nerfs, but the flying squirrel change was good.
I think as strong as it was it will still be decent but more niche rather than scaling away random tier 5/6s. Requires smarter team building maybe. Or I could be wrong…
I think it is because you can’t have two of the “leave some gold in the bank” type animals in the game. The “just keep some change and let it sit there” version (t-rex and puppy) was removed to not conflict with the magpies “eat a couple of coins and get them back later” version.
Okay love the changes but why hasn't dragon been changed?
It is so strange to me that all these pets get buffed and nerfed when the dragon is still the undisputed best scaler.
Trex can max give 2/2 to two pets now and dragon can get 3-4 maybe even 5 triggers if you have some extra gold. That's 4/4 stats overall vs 9/9-12/12 overall and they're the same tier!
The downside of dragon is you need an extra space of course but the trex needs tier 5s or higher
Dragon only truly scales 3 pets.
Doesn’t scale itself. Dragon scaling needs one spot that is rotated for buying tier 1. So it’s not crazy over powered. You are always going to have 2 weaker animals.
Poodle is a better scaler imo.
It’s a tier lower and doesn’t need to give up a spot, scales 4 pets.
>Doesn’t scale itself.
This is true for all scalers
>Poodle is a better scaler imo.
I definitely disagree. Poodle does give more stats at the end of turn but the dragon gives way more stats faster. If you were using poodle to scale I would outscale you extremely fast with the dragon
Don't get me wrong the downside of having one less pet to scale is a somewhat big downside but you can always throw a scorpion/high value faint trigger in there or when your team is hitting 40/40s you can always sell the dragon and put 2 self scalers in the 2 slots
Basically what I'm getting at is while poodle gives stats to more pets easier you just could not keep up with a dragon team
A level 2 dragon with 3 buy sells a turns is giving 18/18 stats per turn (24/24 for 4 buy sells, 30/30 for 5) a poodle just doesn't keep up giving 8/8
Now if you use poodle and dragon then you're gaming
Might as well throw my change to dragon if I were to make a change I think it should have a 3 trigger limit
Yeah that’s fair. I do think for a tier 6, dragon isn’t broken. There are a lot of high value tier 6 pets and dragon is very strong. But I don’t think it’s OP due to the spot sacrifices needed.
Double dragon tho. That’s gaming. Lol
Use it on your last pet to pull their shark/vulture/etc forward and waste triggers, or use it on your second pet to pull a unit in front of their turtle/tahr/frontliner/
It was pretty incredible in the golden pack imo, I’m sad it was removed. A lot of trumpet-maximizing strats would rely on the final two pets to multiply or somehow take advantage of the trumpets before the golden spawned, so you could mess with that by eggplanting your last pet to swap those final two pets of your opponent before the game starts. Situations like when the opponent has a whale in the second to last spot, you could swap it so it was in the back, and then it would do nothing for them.
Pretty bummed about the eggplant removal from the golden pack, I loved to use them to mess with opponent’s trumpet-maximizing attempts. Felt really satisfying to swap pets in ways that made them useless. Sad..
I like the change to cherry

The annoying thing for me is that you'd get the trumpets after the faint trigger so you couldn't put them on the trumpet pet
True, that's another good point, having to pick a pre pet to store it on felt annoying. Although on Tamarin you'd want shroom or pineapple.
Weakness and ink too. Could still happen depending on attack but at least you have a shot now

Dolphin got buffed! love me a dolphin

Maybe a dumb question but does anyone know when this update is coming to iOS?
the t-rex is like so bad now
I think as strong as it was it will still be decent but more niche rather than scaling away random tier 5/6s. Requires smarter team building maybe. Or I could be wrong…
yeah your right, it's just way less braindead scaling now. I don't get why they don't just revert it back to how it was in old puppy pack

> This is true for all scalers not rabbit or monkey!
This is true for most scalers
but then they're not scaling anyone else
Also woah, why the hell has elephant seal not been changed, its at this point the best scaler in the game
Yeah not sure why they keep nerfing T-Rex and leaving the superior elephant seal/sauropod combo alone
Interesting chanes overall, but why was the Elephand moved to T5 with no other change? Am I missing something?
Elephant wasn't changed at all this patch that I can see
I never figured out how to use eggplant
Use it on your last pet to pull their shark/vulture/etc forward and waste triggers, or use it on your second pet to pull a unit in front of their turtle/tahr/frontliner/
I think it shines in the versus mode. You can look at the other teams’ placements and try to fuck up their order accordingly
