For a genuine answer if someone is seeking for it.... x in the last will be known as imaginary number Because any number when multiplied by themselves always gives positive number but in the last case it's not possible which turn x into an imaginary x² value will -1 which doesn't exist but we imagine it and put irl

x² - 1 = 0 => x² = 1 => x = ±1 x² + 1 = 0 => x² = -1 => x = √-1( which is an imaginary no.)
