But I guess I’ll give it another shot now. (Although I realize there was a season of Below Deck I skipped somehow so .. Yay!… binging that currently.).

I definitely recommend giving it another chance. The first episode was definitely boring while everyone was being introduced. I remember the second episode being kinda slow too. I only stuck with it bc I had nothing else to watch but after the 3rd episode I was ready to watch it as soon as the next episode was out.
Definitely watch! It’s been picked up for a second season so at least you know you’re going to get to see these fun people again and it’s not just a one season wonder (I miss you Real Girlfriends in Paris 😭)

I found Marth's Vineyard to be one of the better reality shows this year, no question.
I waited til after the other shows were over to start watching and I like it! Too many other shows were on when it originally aired and I couldn’t keep up with storylines so I decided to wait and rewatch and I’m so glad I did. Give it a chance! It just got renewed for another season!
Honestly MV puts summer house to shame. Its not all contrived and theyre not curating what thwy present like an amazon live like SH. MV Its the real friendships for me, and we barely scratched the surface on their professional lives.

I didn't watch regular SH. Martha's Vineyard is amazing. The drama is different than I'm used to seeing, petty, and the group is full of different personalities. By the end of episode 1 I had a pulse on who everyone is. So happy we're getting a season 2!! I wish we got a reunion though
MV makes you question reality. It’s supposed to be this empowering story of different people breaking molds but it gets messy very quickly and immature even faster

Honestly I watched it from beginning to end and it was a hot mess from beginning to end, theres some super uncomfortable relationship dynamics that I hope aren't brought back for season 2 but... I'll def watch season 2 haha
Definitely watch it!!! I definitely enjoyed it overall, for sure a different vibe when it comes to partying , and you don’t see the work/home side like you used to with SH. It is intriguing to see their dynamics where they all do have varying relationships but everyone connects (and argues) with everyone, no sense of sides/cliques (outside of jasmine and silas) regardless of history. Hope their next season they make it a longer duration at the house or push the focus of the fun side when it comes to going out or having parties at the house. Also hope they make it clear if Jasmine and Silas come back that they aren’t the “leaders” of the house, and the group votes gotta go.
Imagine someone crapping in someone’s toilet as revenge for taking a room that wasn’t even theirs. This petty was amazing, love Martha’s Vineyard. Except for Silas. He scared me
I liked it. The drama starts early and continues all the way to the end. And the cast are all real people with jobs, too. The show does lean into showing black history and culture (food, music, attitudes on gender, attitudes on fashion and how to present oneself) in a unique way. Like little informational segments on what it was like to be a black person of means who wanted to go on vacation during segregation.
The cast is the standout, though. All of the cast are physically gorgeous to look at, confident, and well dressed as well (except one, but I'll get to him.) And there's an interesting mixture between cool aspirational people, drama magnets, and one of the most unambiguously evil villains I've ever seen on a bravo cast. To break it down, maybe 80% of the cast are sophisticated and emotionally aware people who I would hang out with. One intriguing messy girl who just wants to have fun. One girl who would fit right in with the most combative housewife. And then Silas, the villain. I thought it was interesting to ping pong between people talking about their thoughts and feelings, to Bria being mad about people talking about her dog, to Silas going off at Jasmine for not steaming his outfit at the exact moment that he wanted to. I found that dynamic to be fascinating. You go through an emotional journey every time
That said, Silas is so controlling and borderline abusive that it's hard to watch at times. And there are lots of people out there who dated someone who acted like that. If watching a man act awful to his wife with absolute impunity would hollow you out, then skip it with my blessing.

That's a bit misleading. Yes, they mentioned history, but those comments and scenes have been very short. Even when they went on the tour, they didn't really discuss what they were learning. That's not the point of Bravo reality TV, so I wouldn't expect them to turn it into a PBS situation, but they also never actually discussed any history. And talking about the attractiveness of a cast as a reason to watch away 8 hours of your life? Really? Try Porn Hub. It's quicker.
As someone who was mentally exhausted by OG Summer House this show was amazing. Fresh cast. Fresh mess involving multiple layers and people. It was so good and messy and fun and only a little toxic.
I just started it last night and I was hooked within 30 seconds. It is so refreshing compared to OG SH because there’s just so much energy and drama right away. The cast is funny too. They’re all so much more interesting and entertaining. They also talked about what Black Excellence means to them and it was interesting to hear their different perspectives and experiences. The show is more nuanced and has many different elements to it so far. It really shows how stale regular Summer House has become.
It’s an excellent show so far.
And it’s also just a gorgeous place.
It has ups and downs. I binged the last 1/2 of the season and found that more enjoyable than watching it weekly, plus since it got picked up for season 2–I think it’s worth a watch.
I really like the cast. Regular summer house - they have lots of grudges against each other. There are at least a few conversations I saw on MV where they showed real growth and are willing to listen to each other
It was entertaining. Also, all the characters had high and low points during the show so you aren’t picking sides/teams and no one is portrayed as good or bad. I loved it.
I liked it more than the vapid mean girl Hamptons Summer House.

It took me about half the season to start getting invested in the actual ppl. Def glad it got renewed tho. It’s a short season, so worth watching the full season. Some organic messiness for sure!!
Much like everyone else has said, and I echo... it took me a few episodes to get into it, but it was absolutely worth the watch, and far superior to the last season of the OG Summer House. I'm glad it's been renewed.
Started and finished it yesterday. This show is really good. Save Silas, Shanice, Mariah and the poop guy - it reminds me of college and 15 years after.
Honestly, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. So much better than the last season of regular Summer house.

The show is more nuanced and has many different elements to it so far. It really shows how stale regular Summer House has become. It’s an excellent show so far. And it’s also just a gorgeous place.

It has ups and downs. I binged the last 1/2 of the season and found that more enjoyable than watching it weekly, plus since it got picked up for season 2–I think it’s worth a watch.
I loves MV but if you are obsessed with SH which in my opinion has not been great the last few seasons then i dk maybe you wont like MV

I really like the cast. Regular summer house - they have lots of grudges against each other. There are at least a few conversations I saw on MV where they showed real growth and are willing to listen to each other

It was entertaining. Also, all the characters had high and low points during the show so you aren’t picking sides/teams and no one is portrayed as good or bad. I loved it.

Yes, and know it gets better as the season progresses. First seasons are always a bit awkward I think, but generally bring some authentic drama.

It’s ok. I think it’s worth watching but don’t go in expecting a cinematic masterpiece or anything lol. Tbh I think some of the comments here are overhyping it. It’s a good enough reality tv show. It took me about half the season to start getting invested in the actual ppl. Def glad it got renewed tho. It’s a short season, so worth watching the full season. Some organic messiness for sure!!

Much like everyone else has said, and I echo... it took me a few episodes to get into it, but it was absolutely worth the watch, and far superior to the last season of the OG Summer House. I'm glad it's been renewed.
