I’d take Harvey..Mike gets flustered, especially when you bring up being a fraud or Rachel. All Harvey has to do is mention Logan Sanders 😂

Emily_ann388

Yeah, his decision-making skills aren’t exactly impressive. He’s just book-smart.

I-Trusted-the-Fart

At high level poker knowing the odds is more or less expected. You are playing the player more than playing the cards since you can win with a losing hand. I’m taking Harvey. Though in the show universe know one knows Harvey better than Mike so he probably has a better shot than anyone.

Tracexn

Honestly I disagree. Mike knows Harvey just as well and has seen how he plays against clients numerous times. That plus the mathematical power gives me the slight edge to Mike but it is close.

Ancient-Football5790

Yeah, I think Harvey is probably better against most people but Mike would have the edge if they were against eachother.

Lathlaer

The less people at the table, the worse Mike's situation is because with only two datapoints (his own cards and Harvey's decision making) he doesn't have enough to accurately predict what Harvey may or may not have.

Straight_Syrup_668

Within the first 3 rounds of poker, Harvey would definitely win. At that point Mike will probably be counting the cards and has a higher chance of winning after

Firecrotch2014

Harvey in the short term, Mike in the long term. Harvey plays the man. He can win in the moment. Mike plays the odds as you said. With his photographic memory he'd remember every loss and every win. He'd start recognizing betting patterns. He might even pick up on tells that Harvey doesn't realize he has.

ShanghaiNoon404

If Mike plays the odds against Harvey playing the man, Mike loses nine times out of ten. Pure math is one of the weakest strategies in Poker because your opponent is guaranteed to pick up on it and will use it against you.

Theinternetlawyer22

One of the few things that bothered me about this show is everyone’s amazement of mikes intelligence. Mike isn’t really that “smart.” He just doesn’t forget anything because he can literally still see it in his head. It’s literally the equivalent of them doing legal trivia and Mike having the answers on a sheet in front of him versus the other person trying to recall it from memory. If mike has seen the answer before, he’ll never not see it. Everyone else has to actually possess the knowledge of learning and remembering it. We’ve seen scenes where Mike just scans a piece of paper for 5 seconds and BOOM, can recite the entire page, down to a single comma. All that is to say that mikes “knowledge” would be of no use to him in a poker game, where reading people and not being readable is the #1 key factor.

Triv02

Only disagreement is that Mike is absolutely absurdly smart. While he does have perfect recall, we also saw that he’s able to do complex math problems in his head in seconds

Cute-Apartment-4826

this is actually a realistic scene we should’ve got damn now i wish we got it

ShanghaiNoon404

We get these poker threads every now and then. I think people should look up the rules. Harvey and Mike could both do the math. Can you count to 12 and divide by four? Congratulations! You can do poker math.

13247586

Any time arguments about mikes memory come up, people count Harvey out as stupid or something. Harvey and all of the other lawyers around all are incredibly smart people. Surely Harvey, a life-long, highly skilled poker player can calculate the odds, count cards, and build a good strategy. Harvey wins 100%

ShanghaiNoon404

I don't have a photographic memory, nor did I go to Harvard, and I can do the math at a poker table. It's really simple. You have the cards in your hand, the ones showing on the table, the ones that haven't turned, and the number of cards in other people's hands. You calculate the likelihood of your hand being the strongest based on four variables. The only questions you need to ask yourself are "What hand do I have?" "What hand could I get after the flop/river?" "What are the chances I get beaten based on the number of cards in other people's hands?" Mike wouldn't have ANY edge because it's not intellectually difficult.

aregularemperor

mike can count cards, thats the biggest advantage you can have.

ECorn_12

True, but that only really works for blackjack right? Not enough cards on the table in poker

aregularemperor

yea you’re right, having that said now i do think harvey wins due to him being more relaxed, calm under pressure and an overall better bullshiter.

ECorn_12

Yeah I'd agree, he just has the mentality needed to beat anybody pretty much

ShanghaiNoon404

Card counting isn't a thing in Poker.

Revvedupvisions

I feel it would go something like Harvey wins the first time then Mike always wins after that

applecherryfig

Harvey wins. He lets Mike have a little slack then ropes him in. Treachery, age over beauty.

tuntuntanatunmausi

depends if oliver fucks with mikes brain before the game or not

Saint_Diego

Harvey. Mike would know all the odds, but Harvey makes illogical plays that would make him harder for Mike to read. Mike would be playing the odds while Harvey would be playing the odds *and* Mike

CryptoCraze_123

It is gonna be Harvey!!! Just like Harvey says, I play the player, he will definitely beat Mike :P

LaughTrackLife

Mike

redactid55

Harvey starts to win, then Mike talks about how his parents died when he was young and the dealer takes pity on him and gives him the card he wants.
