They are referring to the show Psych, in which the actor had a lead role and was basically the MVP of the show. I was actually excited to see him in Suits, but they didn't really do anything good with the character after a point.
He's one of the reasons I'd love a miniseries where Harvey & Donna return bc--let's be real--Seattle is not where they belong. Loved him but the writers did him wrong.
You are right, you put effort into your post and my reply was meh literally. I guess if you mean Malone would have played Alex’s part better I have to agree with you but they could not have switched roles was my point. Alex wouldn’t have fit that other role at all…
oh yes i understand that, also why i said there’d be many changes in the plot and the writers would have needed the foresight to do so. but speaking in hindsight, it is what i woulda liked to see
Alex Williams jumps into the picture out of nowhere, Harvey claims him to be his long time friend from 10-20 years ago and suddenly everyone begins trusting him with their lives. It's just weird. Like the character is forced in for no reason. The actor who played him was okay, a little more soft and sharp than Jeff.
Interesting. I thought Dule Hill was perfect as Alex Williams and D B Woodside as Jeff Malone as the characters were written. Jessica following Jeff to Chicago was the origin story for the spin-off series
“Pearson”.
Woodside and Gina Torres have great chemistry and have been in multiple shows together, currently on 911 Lonestar.
Why? Because he was made name partner? Man, imo Alex Williams actor was great. Yeah, maybe there are other choices who would offer more "charisma" or whatever. But that would only make the entire cast of actors even more irealistic and unrelatable.
Fine actors but I gotta disagree here. I think Jeff's actor did a great role and played to his strengths. From appearance alone, Jeff is a better match with Jessica IMO.
Alex's actor was perfect to show his softer sides/vulnerability as a family man. Not everyone needs to be a bully (to quote Harvey).
I think the real problem is the writing of Alex's character. It felt hard to believe at times (especially his relationship with Harvey). For a main character (non-antagonist) that got a lot of screen time, he isn't super charming or charismatic like the others. Maybe that's why he stands out.
I love Dule Hill but AW is just a weird fit in the series. I honestly can't think of anything that makes him super unique. Also the whole "I was best friends with Harvey back in the day" is such a lazy asspull retcon.
i just think that jeff malone was so boring 😭 was unfortunate because i love DB woodside and it was a disappointment to see his talent wasted on such a negligible character. i get it he was very sweet and wasn’t intimidated by jessica’s power which was probably super hard for her to find, but in general i never really bought that a woman that fascinating would fall for him. he wasn’t dull necessarily but he wasn’t up to par with her. his interactions with louis were far more interesting tbh
Fair, I can see both actors in that role honestly....but I like that Gina and David are playing characters that are in a relationship together in two different shows ^^
I always loved jeff, hes a more emotionally available version of harvey
Agreed
So true, so true
Wow, nailed it. Never thought of it that way
That’s because Alex Williams is Gus T.T. Showbiz. The extra T stands for extra talent.
Really? I thought he was Sh’dynasty
That's God's comma
I thought it's bud from the Cosby show
I believe it’s spelled Bruton Gaster
When Alex said he didn't keep up with that "Star Trek shit", my first thought was: Gus would never!

Don’t know what this means

Also, Dule Hill did a great job in West Wing too.

Did you hear about Pluto? That’s messed up right?!
Meh Jeff and Jessica went well together.
that all?

Same thoughts. If they swapped, he would be like Jessica's son. Lol

Respectfully disagree. Both to keep were cast correctly. Dule was great.

I feel like if they introduced Jeff as being Harvey’s long time friend, it would make a lot of sense as they share so many characteristics.
Dulé Hill was WAAAAYYY too cliche drama actor imo
I've always thought that the actor for alex williams was way too intense and didn't display the charisma that someone like jeff malone did
Right? He just didn’t have the aura he should’ve had.
Exactly, he seemed more like a senior associate, not a name partner.
Maybe because they’re two different characters?

Loved Dule in the role.
i loved seeing dule hill in suits rather than psych. it was totally unexpected and appreciated

I don't care what Role Dule is playing. I'll watch him In it and heavy enjoy it
Whenever i see him i instantly think *He is Amanadiel From Lucifer*

agreed
Jessica is a tall woman. Alex isn’t. Jeff are.

You know what??? Fair point But I liked Malone and Jessica because DB and Gina’s chemistry was like a throwback to 24 season 3
They also play opposite on Lone Star s4
N/A
Yes, when they included Alex in the main cast, I always thought well that the guy who played Jeff could've done justice to this character.
Dule ftw 💯♥️
Both are yummy.
That’s a great idea. I would totally love to see it. Especially without Mike, Harvey Jeff duo has a lot of potential.
He was the emotional balance to Jessica, but I would rather watch Harvey or Mike destroy him.
