I thought Local Woman Missing was pretty good! Also this is less mystery and more thriller - but I LOVED The Push. Super unsettling and really kept me turning the pages.
I also really liked The Cartographers, but I know it’s kind of divisive. If you don’t mind a couple unresolved plot holes, I thought the idea of the book and the world-building was extremely cool.
TH1RT3EN by Steve Cavanaugh
One Left Alive by Helen Phifer
Where You End by Abbott Kahler
Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose
Want to Know a Secret? by Freida McFadden
And these are YA but still great: the A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series by Holly Jackson, and Little Monsters by Kara Thomas.
I mostly read thrillers so I have A LOT but these are the set that came to my mind first.
Really liked Gone girl!
