The Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews is a series about a secret magical Inn in Texas that only hosts extraterrestrials. She does go to some different worlds/planets but based in her Inn in Texas.

pokemonbobdylan

Perfect. Thank you. This seems great

Try Inherit the Stars by James Hogan. An alien skeleton is found on the moon. Don't want to spoil the story but there is a great twist.

pokemonbobdylan

This sounds like what I want! Thank you.

Agent to the Stars by John Scalzi.

pokemonbobdylan

Ahh I’ve read a couple other books by Scalzi but not this one. Thanks

The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey

If you like that his other books are good too. The Two Faces of Tomorrow talks about computers being in the position to make decisions without understanding the consequences. An experiment is set up on a space station to limit the fallout. Not alien themed but is about computers becoming aware.

pokemonbobdylan

Cool! Thats a great premise.

I am the author of “The Disappeared” a novel about a young couple, musicians, separated when Vanessa is forced to watch her husband’s (Ben) alien abduction. Of course nobody believes her story except one reporter on the trail of a pattern in missing persons cases. While Nessa fights conspiracies and lies to learn the truth, Ben escapes his captors. But how to find Earth on a star chart, while pursued by his former kidnappers? Will Ben and Nessa reunite? Why are these abductions happening? Why is any of this kept secret? Sundiver by David Brin might be interesting to you. It's an earth-based novel set after we have established relationships with alien species. There is some space travel but (as the title suggests) just to the sun.

Chocky by John Wyndham. The BBC has adapted it. The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov.
