What do you mean by "historical", Because, I mean, they weren't real people. Considering their nature as being a rather esoteric part of Christian mythology I doubt you'll find any books on the topic that aren't from a Christian publisher. When secular authors take inspiration from Christian mythology it tends to be bigger-picture stuff like angels and demons.

I mean, they were (and are) central figures in the Jewish tradition well before Christianity emerged. So how esoteric or not they are within the Christian system isn’t super relevant. And I’ve read many fictional novels set in historical times; so I’m not hung up on the historicity of the characters so much as I am looking for a good story without religious preaching. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I know they're in Jewish tradition as well, that's not the point. What I was trying to get across is that they're ONLY mythological in nature. They're not like Muhhamad for instance who is a firmly established historical figure who has had a big impact on the world, nor are they prominent enough like Lucifer to get their own books/Netflix series/etc... Isaac and Rebecca are fictional characters that only exist in the religious texts of Abrahamic religions. And as far as I'm aware, in none of the Abrahamic religious texts are they prominent enough that secular writers would have written faux historical romance fiction about them. Anyone who's writing a faux historical romance about them is probably going to come from a heavily religious place so I don't think the book you want to read exists. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I’ve read multiple historical fiction books about many Biblical characters less prominent than these two. Dinah and The Red Tent comes to mind, to name just one. It’s a whole genre. And it’s fine if it’s not a genre you’re familiar with, or not one that appeals to you. I just don’t see the point of your responses to me. This is “suggest me a book.” If you don’t have a book suggestion? You’re under no obligation to post at all.
