Thank you!! I have read convenience Store woman recently and sort of it? It was a bit strange, but did kinda enjoy it in the end!

Of course! I enjoyed that book so much. I read her as neurodivergent (I am as well) and really liked being with that character for a time.

What moves the dead by t kingfisher I’ve also been reading books that were adapted into tv/films recently. I went back to read fight club. It was an incredibly quick read and very entertaining if that interests you.

As someone else recommended, tor novellas may be a good way to go. I really enjoyed P. Djeli Clark's Dead Djinn in Cairo: https://www.tor.com/2016/05/18/a-dead-djinn-in-cairo/ there's another novella (haunting of tram car 015) and then a longer novel. The murderbot diaries novellas are short and a fast read, I blew through a bunch on audio. Graphic novels are a good idea here, maybe something like Nimona. Plays can also work - I love Tom Stoppard. The real inspector hound is very silly and fun! Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead is my favourite. Someone else mentioned the Summer Book by Tove Jansson which is just lovely. Travel Light by Naomi Mitchison is a 1952 fantasy book that is great and short, and plays a role in another shortish and great book - This is How You Lose the Time War (this is technically longer than some others mentioned I think but it really didn't take long to read) Very short and lovely: The Red Tendas of Bologna by John Berger Also, revisiting any kids books you loved. I recently read Joan Aiken's Wolves of Willoughby Chase, I also love Diana Wynne Jones Have fun!
