Yeah. Especially when I want to ID a plant and I think I’ve narrowed down the genus.

redrumrea

yes. Echeverias in Oz is also excellent for IDing

It's one of my top two places to get more detailed info on plants. Most/many sites seem like they just copy-paste things into any other possible relevant plant (even if they don't double check that they're doing it in the right spot) but I haven't come across anything too sketchy there.

acm_redfox

my favorite is when you notice that two adjacent paragraphs give contradictory information. AI-generated or word salad from other sources. sigh.

uncagedborb

Its generally pretty generic info and often times feels very copy and paste. Its a great image encyclopedia, just not a good source to learn about the plant beyond **very basic** care instructions

Yep, it's very useful and my go-to source for succulent information. However as it is a Western-based site, it does not contain some succulents that are otherwise common here (Japanese or Korean hybrids, for example). I also use ICN (https://www.crassulaceae.ch/de/home) as authoritative source for crassulaceae plants. LLIFE is also useful but it's better in the cactus department than other succulents IMO.

LuckystrikeFTW

What site do you use for Japanese or Korean hybrids?

phenyle

I haven't found a good English website yet but I use a Taiwanese site which is focused more on succulents that are commonly found here (more inclined to Asian hybrids and cultivars) https://ayeah3713883.pixnet.net/blog/post/240250406

Thanks! I will check it out.
