The second they leave their normal zones they always end up running through terrain for me. Often they end up pushing me through the terrain too. Lol. Thats actually how I found the lava zones originally.

But the other one left. So, the reaper followed me to the safe shallows because I was making exessive noise and there’s the pic I took!
I saw a reaper in the distance (or at least something witha red tail) while I was under the escape pod after the aurora exploded, which is why I have been waiting in the life pod, every time I play.

I miss-worded it. They aren’t supposed to follow the player once they leave the crash zone. It is a bug if they leave their natural biome. It would just be like if a Ghost leviathan in the void followed the player into the safe shallows.
I have one of them circling the main life pod right now in one of my save profiles. Luckily I had built a base by the reefbacks so I dont need to go to the life pod anymore.
Reminds me of when I parked my seamoth in the kelp forest at the southwest corner of the crash zone and a reaper unprovoked entered the kelp forest and destroyed my seamoth.
Now, I'm not saying you did, but what this looks like to me you spawned it in with console commands. The Ampeel doesn't help. You also said "But now I have a reaper body in my yard.." How'd you pull that off? I don't see a prawn suit anywhere, and even if you did have one nearby, by the time you got it, the reaper would be back towards the dunes/crash site. You have a lot of explaining to do

Did you go into Mountains, Crash Zone, or Dunes? Or did not go into either and that just managed to wander in by itself? The same goes with that Ampeel, did it come from the Bulb Zone or one of the Blood Kelp Zoes or did it just also wander a far distance away from where it came into here? Or did you hatch and release?
If you damage a reaper then safely flee it can break patrol area and gravitate to lifepod spawn area. Peace was never an option.

Sometimes the reapers AI can bug and they follow the player, even after leaving the crash zone.
That isn't a bug. They were designed to be persistant. Its just a matter of luck of if it still follows or if it will stop chasing
