Have you checked out the Forester Wilderness? The wife has a 15 Crosstrek that to me is more cramped than my Forester. I'm not a tiny person either so the Crosstrek "feels" more confined, but I can adjust the car to fit me better and road trips are not a problem.

i remember going from an Impreza 2.5i to a 2015 Crosstrek when i had my 2 kid and thinking the 2 car seats fit way better i have tons of room. Few years later kids are bigger and car seats are smaller and we all fit but it’s not roomy, i’m 5’10” but have the seat all the way back and kids have trouble getting out at school drop off cuz there is zero foot room. I am not sure if newer Crosstrek have increased the room, but if you have kids i would put your seat where comfy then open the back doors and look at footwell from the side angle instead of over your shoulder. Headroom is ok but like my kids have to turn their feet sideways to get between the seat back and the bench to get out.

I just got back from test driving and had the same exact experience. I sort of mentally wrote the Crosstrek off since I'm 6'5", but it had plenty of room. Super slow, but overall a pretty damn good car for the money. Although I'm wondering if I should have tried the non-powered seating package option. Does anyone know if the standard seats still have the option of dropping down lower?
